I don’t usually like momo-niku (chicken thigh) that much, but I had the most delicious chicken thigh yakitori of my life... The ginnan (ginkgo nuts) were plump, and the kashira (pork cheek) had a nice crunchy bite, making it a blissful yakitori time.

The atmosphere of the restaurant and the food were both great, and everything was delicious. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) in particular had a nice char and were full of juicy flavor, and they were satisfying to eat as well. Not only the yakitori, but also menu items like grilled ginkgo nuts and tataki (lightly seared and chopped meat or fish) were excellent. We enjoyed the To finish noodles and dessert all the way to the end, and it was a course that left us completely Manzoku!

It is grilled to a crisp, yet still juicy. Everything on the menu is good, but the kawa (chicken skin) and bonjiri (tail) really show how skilled they are at grilling. The atmosphere is nice too, so you can relax and enjoy the food. It is hard to find yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) this good at this price.

Today’s skewers were all delicious too, including crispy skin, bonjiri (chicken tail) with fat that seeped out in juicy bursts, shiitake (shiitake mushroom) stuffed with meat, and shishito (mild green pepper) that really brought the heat.

WATA0926

I visited a yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) restaurant in Tonomachi that I had been curious about for a while. Since there are only a few seats, I was worried about getting in, but a raised tatami seating area happened to be open, and I enjoyed a few drinks and some yakitori. The place had a very homey atmosphere, and I was able to relax.
