Sushi Yuu Haruka

Sushi Yuu Haruka is a restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Edomae-zushi (Edo-style sushi). The head chef trained at several hard-to-book popular restaurants before opening this place.

Inside, there is an L-shaped counter. They also offer a wide selection of drinks, including Japanese sake and wine, and many people enjoy them with the sushi.

The most popular option is the Omakase course with all you can drink included. On one occasion, they served a filling spread with four à la carte dishes, 10 pieces of nigiri, and rolled sushi.

With the all you can drink option, you can enjoy as many drinks as you like, including alcohol, within the time limit, so it is a good pick for people who enjoy drinking.

The toppings, which change from day to day, pair well with the vinegared rice, and they all get high marks for being fresh and tasty.

The anago (conger eel) is simmered to just the right tenderness, and the nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) is lightly seared on one side, making for a memorable taste. Each piece is said to show the care and attention that goes into it.

They also serve creative sushi like hand rolls with sushi rice mixed with ankimo (monkfish liver), and snow crab topped with uni (sea urchin), alongside classic options like kinmedai (golden eye snapper) and toro (fatty tuna), and all of them went perfectly with drinks. The final futomaki (thick sushi roll) was made by gathering the trimmed pieces from that day’s sushi toppings and rolling them up, and it was nice to see them put to good use with no waste.

suzu*

I especially liked the sawara (Spanish mackerel). It was rich with fat, and they paired it with karashi (Japanese mustard) instead of wasabi, which worked really well!! This is a casual place where you can relax, but it still has the feel of a proper non conveyor belt sushi spot, so it is a great choice when you want sushi in that kind of setting.

Ueno Sakae

Ueno Sakae, about a 1-minute walk from Okachimachi Station, is a classic Edomae-zushi (Tokyo-style sushi) restaurant that carries on the lineage of Ginza Kyubey, one of Japan’s leading sushi restaurants.

They also offer branded local sake sourced from all over Japan. You can choose from a wide range of options to match your mood and taste that day.

キキグルメ

Every piece of sushi was really delicious, but my favorites, uni (sea urchin), aburi otoro (seared fatty tuna), shiroika (white squid), shimaaji (striped jack), akagai (ark shell clam), and the small Rice bowl, were absolutely amazing〜. Every dish was refined and deeply satisfying. I also liked the tamagoyaki made with shrimp worked into it, which had a firm texture like pudding. They are also very particular about their Japanese sake, with the selection changing daily.

ゆんじょんはんーーーー!

The drinks were all great too, including whiskey and Japanese sake, and I was impressed. As for the sushi, the uni (sea urchin) and aji (horse mackerel) were the best of all. The sushi chef's hospitality was also wonderful, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

とりっぴーの麺スタグラム

The interior is lively yet somehow calm, creating a space where you can enjoy authentic sushi and drinks without feeling stiff or formal. The first thing that surprised me was the freshness of the toppings. The nigiri sushi rice was slightly warm and gently fell apart the moment it hit my mouth. The chutoro (medium fatty tuna) was rich without feeling too heavy, and the akami (lean tuna) slowly spread with flavor, making me honestly think, “Ah, this is properly good sushi...”

moca♡

The mozuku-su (vinegared mozuku seaweed) otoshi (small appetizer) starts things off on a light and refreshing note. The sushi is especially outstanding for its hon-maguro (bluefin tuna) chutoro and otoro, with rich sweet fat and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Standard toppings like salmon, aburi salmon, madai (red Sea Bream), and aji (horse mackerel) also show careful work, and the ippon anago zushi (whole conger eel sushi) has a great balance of soft fluffy flesh and sauce. The savory aroma of the aburi engawa (seared flounder fin) also stood out.

kiki15

Just like the restaurant’s concept suggests, it has a casual atmosphere where you can enjoy sushi in a creative, inventive way. Every dish comes in a just-right portion, with a focus on quality over volume, and pairs perfectly with Japanese sake. With so many tempting choices, we enjoyed Ebi Kani Gassen, maguro (tuna) shio yukhoe, and Nomeru Salmon together with nama Japanese sake (unpasteurized Japanese sake)!

The atmosphere of the Private room, the plates, and the presentation were all lovely, and they made the good food taste even better. The crab chawanmushi (savory egg custard) was also delicious, so next time I think I’ll order the course with a sea urchin comparison. The many dishes paired well with both Japanese sake and wine, and I was impressed by how carefully everything was prepared, all the way to the To finish warabi-mochi (bracken starch dumpling).

法務マン

The interior is still clean as ever, with a nice calm atmosphere. Before the nigiri (hand-formed sushi), we started with one plate each of soft roe and ankimo (monkfish liver). The soft roe was creamy and rich, while the ankimo had a nicely balanced flavor and an appetite-boosting tang from the ponzu sauce. We quickly moved on to Japanese sake. For nigiri, we ordered buri (yellowtail), ama-shirodai (sweet white Sea Bream), sawara (Spanish mackerel), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), otoro (fatty tuna), uni (sea urchin), and ikura (salmon roe).

Lunch is especially popular, and many people order nigiri sushi or chirashi-zushi (scattered sushi) topped with a variety of ingredients.

The most popular option is the "Matsu Course." With five dishes, it has just the right number of courses, and people say you can enjoy every bite right through to the end.

Seasonal ingredients are used for the grilled and fried dishes. The photo shows gindara (sablefish) saikyo-yaki (Kyoto-style miso-marinated grilled fish). The flesh was tender, rich with fat, and juicy.

Master Yoda

The toppings were four kinds: maguro (tuna), kanpachi (greater amberjack), hotate (scallop), and saba (mackerel). As you would expect from a sushi restaurant, every topping was fresh. The maguro had a rich, smooth taste. The kanpachi was nicely fatty and plump. The hotate had just the right firmness and a gentle flavor.

おかぴょん1000

The appetizer feels like a modest small plate, which is comforting. After that, individual dishes and sushi come out one after another, and each one is very delicate. The sushi in particular is not just great because of the topping, but also because of the way the shari (sushi rice) is shaped and portioned. It is the perfect size for one bite, and the way it gently falls apart in your mouth is irresistible!

The compact interior has counter seats only. Its "theater-style" setup lets you watch the chef's craft up close, creating a great sense of live excitement.

It is based on traditional Edomae-zushi (traditional Edo-style sushi). Toppings that need peak freshness are served the same day, while those that develop deeper flavor are aged before being served.

The kuruma ebi (Japanese tiger prawn) is taken straight from the tank in the restaurant, so the freshness is outstanding. People praise its strong sweetness and springy texture.

The Omakase course is structured so you can enjoy Edomae-zushi (Edo-style sushi) and creative Japanese cuisine in alternating order.

Using seasonal ingredients from the mountains and sea, it also features traditional Japanese small bowl dishes. You can also enjoy Japanese home-style dishes such as sansai (mountain vegetables) and mushroom tempura, dressed dishes, and simmered dishes.

中崎 健二

In addition to the classic craftsmanship of Edomae-zushi (Tokyo-style sushi), it also incorporates the delicate techniques of kaiseki (traditional multi-course cuisine), making it a kind of sushi you will not find anywhere else d(^_^o)The Japanese sake was served in a container with ice, so I could enjoy it cold to the very end. They really do not miss a thing in details like this!!

The counter seats are arranged around the chef, so you can watch the cooking from any seat. Dinner is by reservation only.

The menu consists only of a fully Omakase course that mixes nigiri and otsumami (small dishes). They are also particular about pairing with Japanese sake, making it a 2-hour experience where you can fully enjoy the good taste of Japanese cuisine.

The tuna is sourced from Yamayuki, a tuna specialty wholesaler used by many famous restaurants.

Otoro (fatty tuna), the richest and fattiest cut, is said to have wonderful melt-in-your-mouth texture and sweetness. It pairs seamlessly with the sushi rice and seems to spread through your mouth as it melts.

金色の鰹出汁

The way they shape the sushi here is top notch. It has a real sense of unity with the neta (sushi topping). In your mouth, everything spreads out evenly and gently fades away. Rather than a standard sushi course, it feels closer to a sushi kaiseki (traditional multi-course meal), and they serve many dishes besides sushi as well. Every time I visit, I enjoy seeing the variety of dishes change and even increase.

Sushi Yuki

Sushi Yuuki is an Edomae-zushi (Tokyo-style sushi) restaurant run by an owner who trained at an authentic sushi restaurant. The interior mainly features counter seating, where you can watch the chef at work. It also seems to have table seating and Sunken kotatsu seating.

The seafood dishes come in a wide variety. Loved by locals, this is a sushi restaurant you can enjoy with the casual feel of an izakaya.

An experienced chef uses classic Edomae (old Tokyo-style) techniques to make each piece of nigiri sushi. They carefully choose the right method for each topping of the day, such as sujime (curing with vinegar), aging, or aburi (searing).

Kohada (gizzard shad) is a signature of Edomae sushi. It is firmly cured with salt and vinegar to bring out its concentrated umami.

Kanpyo-maki (dried gourd roll) is a classic Edomae-zushi (Tokyo-style sushi) made with the flesh of yugao (bottle gourd), a member of the gourd family, seasoned in a sweet and savory way.

They use only crisp ones from Tochigi Prefecture, and the crunchy texture is said to be outstanding. Even though it is a rolled sushi, it has a real presence and is said to be popular enough to feel like the star of the meal.

s_g2525

I had the nigiri, but since they did not have my favorite Sea Bream, they changed it to kinmedai (golden eye snapper), so I had hirame (flounder). It came with momiji-oroshi (grated daikon with chili) and green onion, which gave it a light finish. And the uni gunkan had zero off notes and tasted really good. As a uni lover, I was very Manzoku.

The chef carefully forms each piece of sushi one by one. The shari (sushi rice) has just the right firmness and gently falls apart in your mouth in an amazing way. The size is also perfectly balanced, neither too big nor too small. The otoro (fatty tuna) and shrimp were especially great.

Sushi centered on fresh fish caught that morning and delivered directly every morning from Toyosu Shijo (Toyosu Market). The recommended choice is an assortment menu that combines several kinds of toppings.

The toppings are Special selections with excellent fat content, and they apparently prepare each ingredient in the best way for the fish, such as changing the thickness depending on the type and adding hidden knife cuts.

The a la carte menu centers on seafood, just what you would expect from a sushi izakaya (Japanese-style pub). With a range of preparations including sashimi, grilled dishes, and simmered dishes, it is also perfect between bites of sushi.

The sashimi, with its irresistible fresh texture and flavor, changes daily because it features fish brought in that day. It also pairs perfectly with alcohol.

The sushi rice is so good〜♩ The shime-saba (lightly pickled mackerel) had a mild tang, the shrimp had plenty of umami, and I also really enjoyed the chutoro (medium fatty tuna)(╹◡╹)

This izakaya serves sushi and Japanese food made with fresh neta (toppings for sushi), and the nigiri has a great balance with the shari (sushi rice), bringing out plenty of umami. The sashimi and a la carte dishes are also seasoned with care, and they pair perfectly with drinks.

The most popular No. 1 course lets you enjoy All you can eat niku-zushi (meat sushi) with 11 different varieties.

Along with the standard Domestic beef, there is also a wide selection of duck and pork. They also offer a lineup of original creative sushi made with ingredients like mayonnaise and cheese.

I liked the one topped with truffle sauce and the niku-zushi (meat sushi) sandwiched with nori (seaweed)!! The cheese was rich and a bit junky, so I thought it would be even easier to eat if it were milder. Rather than a high-end place, I’d recommend it to people who want to fill up on meaty niku-zushi.

Every single dish was very good, and the "nomeru torotoro (pork jowl so tender it feels drinkable)" was especially amazingly tender and impressive. The fat was not heavy, and that melt-in-your-mouth texture was irresistible!

・Maguro-zukushi (tuna assortment)
Akami (lean tuna), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), and otoro (fatty tuna) are beautifully lined up on a wooden board, raising your expectations from the moment you see them. The akami has a rich, smooth texture and a classic taste that lets you fully enjoy tuna’s natural umami. The chutoro has an excellent balance of fat and lean meat, and each bite slowly spreads with flavor.

I came here because I wanted to have sushi with Japanese sake! In Tokyo, going out for proper sushi as your first stop can get pretty expensive, but Uogashi is great because the prices are on the lower side while the toppings are still solid and high quality.

Sushi Shunsai Taka no Ha Ueno 2-go Ten

The interior has a calm, traditional Japanese feel. Although it stands along a lively street in Okachimachi, the restaurant is said to have an elegant atmosphere full of charm inside.

They source with freshness as the top priority, and their hon-maguro (Pacific bluefin tuna) is said to be outstanding. The otoro (fatty tuna) and chutoro (medium fatty tuna) have excellent richness, while the lean akami is known for having no off notes at all.

They also offer a wide range of rare tuna cuts. From the eyeballs to the tail, they serve dishes made with unusual parts.

They also offer a wide variety of a la carte dishes that make the most of seafood. This one is "ara daikon-ni (simmered daikon radish with fish scraps)."

This is a simmered daikon radish dish made by cooking ara (fish trimmings) that would not normally be used, drawing out plenty of rich umami. The deep flavor soaks all the way to the center of the daikon radish, making it a dish you would expect from a sushi restaurant.

愛音桃

A sushi place that’s so good you end up eating too much! If I’d had more time, I might’ve kept eating lolwww The salmon, menegi (young scallions), and tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet) here are seriously good♡ I had the Shimonita negi-yaki (grilled Shimonita scallions), and it was so tender and insanely tasty! You should definitely try the tempura! It’s outstanding!

The quality is reliably great‼️I personally also like the small sized sushi! It’s the best because I can eat a lot〜. It’s also nice that they have recommendations for the day! On this day, I had nama-gaki (raw oysters), and they were so rich that the drinks kept flowing〜.
