Omotenashi Irori-zushi (hearth-side sushi)

Omotenashi Irori Zushi, about a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station, is a restaurant where you can enjoy sushi and robatayaki (fireside grilling).

The interior is a modern space decorated with traditional crafts from Kyushu. In its calm atmosphere, you can relax and enjoy your meal.

The reservation-only "Omakase course" must be booked by 21:00 the day before, and includes 9 dishes from Appetizers to mizumono (dessert).

The "Ichi no Sushi" in the photo is an assortment platter with Spear Squid, chutoro (medium fatty tuna), uni (sea urchin) & ikura (salmon roe), and more. The sushi, made with very fresh seafood, is said to be rich and tasty across the board.

"Oebi Shioyaki (salt-grilled giant prawn)" boldly grilled over the charcoal fire of robatayaki (Japanese hearth-style grilling).

This dish uses an extra-large giant prawn grilled whole in its shell with salt to bring out the full flavor of the ingredient. The aroma of the charcoal whets the appetite, and the plump, springy texture of the meat is said to be addictively good.

八尋司

Each dish was beautifully plated, so I could enjoy the meal with my eyes first! The sushi had big toppings, and every dish was incredibly good. The A la carte dishes were also plentiful, and next time I’d like to try various A la carte dishes as well as the course meal!

Robatayaki (fireside grilling) Grilled salmon belly
The fatty, rich skin has been lightly grilled and is full of aroma. It flakes apart the moment you put your chopsticks in. This is a great dish that would go amazingly well with white rice.

Sushi Sakana

Sushi Sakana, about a 6-minute walk from Hakata Station, is a place where you can enjoy authentic Edomae-zushi (Tokyo-style sushi) in Hakata.

It was a great place where I could enjoy my meal in a very quiet setting! The sushi was also really good, and with All you can eat at this price, I think it is a convenient choice when you want something a little more special than your usual meal.

Of course the sushi was great, and the misoshiru (miso soup) and main dishes were also very tasty! I think it's an amazing value to get an authentic sushi course at this price!! The second half is All you can eat, so you can eat as much of whatever you want as you like. The speed of service is also more than satisfactory.

The small, easy to eat shari (sushi rice) made with red vinegar pairs well, and the sweet savory tsume (thick sushi sauce) is said to bring out the rich flavor of the hamaguri.

The especially fresh toppings and refined seasoning left a strong impression. Each piece was not overly assertive, yet it left a lingering finish that stayed in your memory, giving it a strong presence even within the course. Of course, the fukahire (shark fin) was exquisite, needless to say.

まなグレ子

Once the course meal is served first, you can order as many dishes as you like from the menu after that. The sashimi was beautiful and delicious. The tempura was also crisp and tasty. (I would have been even happier if they had shrimp, though, haha) The meat was also good. The sushi was also delicious, with small portions of shari (sushi rice) that made it easy to eat.

They bring out the full menu, and from there you can eat and drink as much as you like until closing time w Since it’s a sushi restaurant, the fish is really good! The sushi is small, so you can keep eating piece after piece. The drinks start with champagne and go all the way to Hirezake, so you can really drink your fill.

Izumida Hakata Ekimae Ten

Izumida Hakata Ekimae Ten, about a 7-minute walk from Hakata Station, is a sushi restaurant serving sushi made with seafood sourced from Nagahama Ichiba (Nagahama Market).

The clean interior has a large L-shaped counter and table seating, and it is said to be a place where you can casually enjoy authentic sushi.

The sushi is also popular for its lightly airy shari (sushi rice) and easy-to-eat size.

The rice is slightly warm, which brings out the great flavor of the very fresh seafood. In particular, the aburi iwashi (seared sardine) has a fragrant skin and lets you enjoy the rich taste of its high-quality fat.

The house specialty, “katsu-iwashi isobe-maki (fresh sardine seaside-style roll),” is a popular dish where sardine sashimi is wrapped in nori with green onion and eaten together.

Simple as it is, the toasty aroma of the nori, the sharp bite of the green onion, and the melt-in-your-mouth texture of the sardine go well together, making it perfect as a snack to go with drinks.

I visited Izumida near Hakata Station. This was my second visit, and this time I went with a coworker. We had 8 pieces of seasonal nigiri sushi and sashimi. The sushi rice was formed into small bites, so it was just right for picking at while drinking. The sazae (turban shell) sashimi was also delicious.

だーま2

Since there were 2 of us, we had reserved the course meal in advance. It started with vegetables, then came sashimi, fried dishes, and chawanmushi (savory egg custard), plus about 8 pieces of sushi, soup, and even dessert, making it a great deal. Everything was delicious, and I was glad my companion was Manzoku too〜

Hakata Tetsuji

Hakata Tetsuji is a Japanese restaurant where you can enjoy sushi along with creative dishes made with seasonal ingredients.

The Japanese modern interior feels warm and inviting. In addition to the spacious counter seats made of white wood, the restaurant also has Semi-private room seating, making it a great place to enjoy an elegant dinner time.

You can enjoy sushi made with the recommended ingredients of the day, along with a la carte dishes.

The cute-looking otoshi (small appetizer) is “gari tomato.”

This refreshing dish features thin slices of gari (pickled ginger) and shredded oba (perilla leaf) on top of a small tomato. The tomato’s savory taste, the tang of the gari, and the fresh aroma of the oba go well together and really whet the appetite.

徳島太郎

Since it was cold, I enjoyed sashimi and basashi (horse sashimi) while drinking shochu with hot water. Best of all was the anago (conger eel) shirayaki (plain grilled). The fat was coming through, and it was so refined and really delicious. I had no idea anago could be this rich and fatty.

めっつ1014

The sashimi and sushi were really delicious! The stylish atmosphere and even the plates were lovely. The ikura (salmon roe), salmon, chutoro (medium fatty tuna), and maguro (tuna) hand-rolled sushi were the best!

Hakata Sushi Kizan

Located just a 2-minute walk from Hakata Station, Hakata Sushi Kizan offers authentic Edomae-zushi (Tokyo-style sushi) and kaiseki (traditional multi-course cuisine).

Inside, the refined atmosphere features counter seats made with beautiful white wood and Private rooms where you can feel the changing seasons, making it a great place to enjoy an elegant dinner.

The super fresh Nagasaki no hirame (Nagasaki olive flounder) and hirame engawa (olive flounder fin muscle) is a standout piece, with its beautiful translucent topping that really catches the eye.

Once in your mouth, the rich flavor of the hirame engawa spreads out, and you can enjoy its pleasantly firm texture.

Among the nigiri, the popular buri-toro (fatty yellowtail) stands out for its melting texture, where the rich umami and sweetness of the fat come together and seem to dissolve softly on the tongue.

It pairs well with the red vinegar sushi rice, and is said to be so good that you will want another piece.

fumik938

Of course every dish was delicious, but I could also really tell how delicately and carefully everything had been prepared. The sushi rice in the nigiri was on the smaller side, which I really liked as well. It was a memorable meal that I would love to come back for again! Thank you for such a delicious and enjoyable time♪

豊崎グルメ

In the course on this day, Appetizers and sashimi (sliced raw fish) came out first. The sashimi, which let us really enjoy seasonal seafood, showed both freshness and careful knife work. The nigiri sushi had well controlled rice temperature and pressure, and the way it came together in the mouth was impressive. The pairing of the topping and rice left a lasting finish with each piece.

This sushi uses four kinds of maguro (tuna): akami (lean tuna), zuke (soy-marinated tuna), otoro (fatty tuna), and aburi otoro (seared fatty tuna).

The fresh otoro is said to be melt-in-your-mouth tender, while the seared version has a texture almost like meat. The akazu (red vinegar) rice is said to bring out the rich flavor of the toppings.

mikanR

I booked the Kotobuki Course, and the grilled kama of Sea Bream was so plump and springy that it hardly seemed like grilled fish, and it was really delicious.

コトノハのグルメ

The seafood trio, including “drinkable salmon, drinkable aburi engawa (seared flounder fin), and melting unagi butter (eel with butter),” are standout dishes that each show their own character. Just like the names suggest, they are so soft they practically go down like a drink in your mouth. The unagi butter in particular was rich, with the aroma of butter gently spreading across the palate.

The "Ika Sugata-zukuri (whole squid sashimi presentation)" is said to have firm flesh and rich flavor. Its crunchy texture is a highlight, and the more you chew, the more the squid's natural sweetness comes out.

路地裏ごはん録

I started with sanma (Pacific saury) sashimi and grilled sanma with salt. The fish was incredibly rich and fatty. The sashimi was fresh and juicy, while the grilled sanma stood out for its fragrant skin and the sweetness of the flesh. Next came the nigiri sushi. The temperature of the shari (sushi rice) and the way it gently loosened in the mouth felt just right, bringing out the best in each topping.

trustsparkle

I had nigiri of honmaguro (bluefin tuna) assortment (otoro (fatty tuna), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), akami (lean tuna)), ark shell clam, and tama (Japanese omelet). Honmaguro really is on a different level. I could keep eating it forever. You can really tell the difference between good and bad ark shell clam, but this one had a nice firm bite. The tama was great too, with excellent thickness and just the right doneness.

Sushi Uchiao

Sushi Uchio is a place where you can enjoy excellent sushi made with skilled craftsmanship and seasonal ingredients.

The interior centers on an L-shaped counter, creating a luxurious space where you can watch the chefs at work up close from any seat. It has a homey feel and is said to be very comfortable.

Here, the maguro otoro (fatty tuna) (jabara (scored style)) is a visually beautiful piece, with fine cuts made across the surface of the otoro.

The rich fat is said to melt irresistibly the moment it touches your tongue. The shari (vinegared sushi rice) also has a nice size with just the right acidity, making it highly satisfying.

Another draw is that you can enjoy pairing single dishes and sushi made with seasonal blessings with carefully selected Japanese sake from around Japan.

In addition to Japanese sake that brings out the best in the ingredients, they also offer wine, shochu (Japanese distilled spirit), and Japanese whisky.

kurokuro10

The young chef carefully shapes each piece. You can feel the grains of rice in the texture, and they pair well with the fish. The hamo (pike conger) served in the course was tasty. The sushi came in satisfying portions, and there was dessert too. It is a grown-up space where you can happily enjoy wine together!

This time, each piece was very good, including otoro (fatty tuna), kohada (gizzard shad), katsuo (bonito), tai (sea bream), uni nigiri (sea urchin sushi), kuruma ebi (tiger prawn) yubiki nigiri (parboiled sushi), grilled bonito belly, maguro zuke (marinated tuna), anago (conger eel), and grilled geso (squid tentacles) of shin-ika (young squid). Kyushu Hakata Daikichi Sushi PREMIUM

Kyushu Hakata Daikichi Sushi PREMIUM, about a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station, is a sushi restaurant where you can enjoy high quality seafood and ingredients from the mountains of Kyushu.

The refined interior has a modern Japanese feel, centered around a counter made from a single slab of Yakusugi (cedar from Yakushima). There are 30 seats in total, giving the place a special feel.

The “Nagasaki Hon Maguro Aka-mon Zanmai” is a popular dish among tuna lovers.

It lets you taste the fresh tuna’s rich flavor and sweetness directly. If you like silver-skinned fish, the “Hakata Ao-mon Zanmai” comes recommended.

Many people seem to visit for Kawataro no Ika no Ikizukuri (live squid sashimi), which requires a reservation.

The squid is extremely fresh and has a firm bite, but with fine hidden knife cuts, it also offers a sticky texture and sweetness.

Depending on the weather, there are times when it is not available, and the price may also vary depending on the purchase cost.

At this restaurant, sushi is served in a format similar to kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi). The sushi does not actually rotate, but guests can enjoy their meal by picking each item themselves. It is part of the Kawataro Group, known for ika no ikizukuri (live squid sashimi), so you can dine here with peace of mind. It was a great meal.

The red vinegar rice pairs well with the toppings, and lets you taste the fish's natural flavor directly.

The crisp and fragrant "Ariake-kai-san (from the Ariake Sea) shiba-ebi (small Japanese shrimp) Kara-age" is perfect as a snack to go with drinks!

It is fried shell and all, so you can enjoy the shrimp’s springy texture and sweetness. A squeeze of the lemon served on the side adds a fresh tang that makes them hard to stop eating, too.

YoshiPuri

The sushi includes chutoro (medium fatty tuna), and there is a wide variety, with plenty of ramen, tempura, and à la carte dishes as well. I was happy that the beer was served in bottles. Overall, everything tasted great and went beyond the quality you would expect from All you can eat! The view was beautiful too.

mirainotakara

The sushi lineup is extensive, with nigiri, makimono (rolled sushi), gunkan (battleship-style sushi), plus tempura, ginnan (ginkgo nuts), and even grilled Sea Bream head. Among them, the grilled Sea Bream head stood out with its nicely roasted aroma and tender flesh✨ And the popping texture of tobikko (flying fish roe) spread in the gunkan, bringing an instant smile!

Sushiya Kotobuki JRJP Hakata Building Ten is a popular spot where you can enjoy sushi with ease.

The Japanese modern interior has a stylish yet casual feel. There are counter seats and table seating, making it convenient for both solo diners and groups.

Almost everyone who visits orders the "House Specialty! Nadare-zushi (avalanche sushi)".

This luxurious dish is topped with plenty of salmon, tuna, and ikura (salmon roe) over rolled sushi, and it is more filling than it looks. Since it is quite substantial, sharing it between 2 people is recommended.

You can also enjoy authentic sushi made with genuine akazu (red vinegar) shari (sushi rice) and exceptionally fresh neta (toppings).

The menegi nigiri is a piece with a crisp texture and a mild sharpness that refreshes your palate. The uni gunkan-maki is said to fill your mouth with rich flavor and sweetness the moment you take a bite, putting you in a happy mood.

dolce333

This is a reasonably priced favorite of mine, and I’ve already been here six times in the past few months. The staff are attentive and thoughtful, which I really appreciate. I order the house specialty, an assortment of different kinds of fish, every time. It looks great, so people I bring here for the first time are always happy with it. It tastes great too, so I recommend it.

For small plates, I ordered Sea Bream cured with kombu kelp and another dish whose name I forgot, something like a “fresh fish sashimi roll.” It was made by wrapping Sea Bream sashimi around daikon radish, gari (pickled ginger), and shiso (perilla), and it looked elegant too. Both were very fresh and delicious.
