身の程シラス

Yakitori made with French sauces and ingredients also gives the menu a unique twist, and every item makes you want to try them all☺️I ordered the short course, and it even came with oden (Japanese stew) at the end, so this is a must-visit spot in Sapporo as winter really sets in! It was a stylish place that made me want to come back again and again

I started with red wine, then had toki no, negima, and seseri (neck meat), all with tare sauce, and after that I tried the French-style chicken thigh skewer. This one seemed to be seasoned with cumin tomato sauce and topped with the kind of cheese used in Caesar salad, which gave it a different taste from yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) eaten with tare or salt.

Both the salt and sauce versions were so good that I couldn't stop eating. Of course, I couldn't stop drinking either and ended up having too much! lol. It was fun to sit at the counter and chat a little with the staff at the grill. Personally, the tomato is unbelievably good. It's also available for groups, but I prefer going alone!

あかさ

Speaking of Otokichi-san, it has to be Muroran yakitori (Muroran-style grilled skewers)! It’s buta-sei (grilled pork skewers). I asked for it with tare sauce. So glossy! The sweet and savory tare and the mustard served with it were a perfect match. The recommended yaki-onigiri (grilled rice ball) Garlic really whets the appetite with its garlic aroma! Crispy, fragrant, and delicious. This was only available at the Susukino location, so I wish they would make it at other locations too.

Of course the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is great, but even the small side dishes are properly tasty! I really liked the "gyu to ramu no tataki (lightly seared beef and lamb)"~ (I ate so many different things that I never made it to the horse meat, which I still regret) But more than anything, the owner here is just wonderful! The yakitori is on the pricier side, but you really can’t go wrong with anything you order. They grill it over charcoal right in front of you. The asparagus was delicious. I always order the special tsukune (chicken meatball skewer). For the oden, I absolutely always order the isonori (seaweed) and daikon radish. The homemade umeboshi (pickled plum) is also a quiet recommendation. It’s large and not too sour. My favorite treat is enjoying this with Japanese sake.

What stood out first was the luxurious menu, which lets you enjoy both fresh fish and high quality meat. Each piece of sashimi was as beautiful as a work of art, and the moment I put it in my mouth, I could taste the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chef. The meat was tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. It was so good that I almost wanted to say, "One more plate!"

It’s in a bit of a hidden spot, but the place was lively with both pairs and larger groups inside. It had a great atmosphere. There was a wide selection on the All you can drink menu, including coffee shochu (distilled spirit), and they also had many kinds of highballs, so I was very satisfied. The sashimi and skewers to go with the drinks also had good volume and tasted great, and I had a nice relaxed time drinking, so it was Manzoku!

Torikin

Torikin is a yakitori restaurant located just steps from Kita 34-jo Station, with a storefront that gives a sense of old time charm, and it is a place where you can enjoy Muroran yakitori (Muroran style yakitori) in Sapporo.

Counter seats are arranged around the charcoal grill, and there is table seating on the right side.

"Tori-sei (seasoned chicken skewer)" is said to use fairly large pieces of meat, packed with umami and very satisfying to eat. They are particular about using different salts for the initial seasoning and the finishing touch, and it is said to be excellent.

"Buta-sei (seasoned pork skewer)" is coated well with a sweet soy sauce based tare sauce that has been added to since the restaurant first opened, and it seems to go very well with beer.

The "tori reba (chicken liver)," finished with perfect heat control, is said to have just the right springy texture. A rich sauce brings out the liver’s savory flavor, making it easy to enjoy even for people who do not usually eat liver.

It is also recommended to enjoy it with the carefully selected labels chosen by the owner, who loves Japanese sake.

The pork skewers, chicken skewers, Heart, gizzard, and vegetable skewers are all carefully grilled one by one. The salt seasoning is done to perfection and tastes great, and depending on your preference, you can add the Western mustard served on the plate or some heat with the Kyo Ichimi (Kyoto chili pepper blend) at the table.

On a Friday when you're worn out from work, draft beer and yakitori are, needless to say, pure happiness. The tori seuniku (chicken skewer) had plump meat and just the right size, and it was so good. The buta seuniku (pork skewer) was juicy and thick, and this was great too... The tori kawa (chicken skin) had a crisp texture and was cooked just right, so tasty. Both tsukune (chicken meatballs) were so juicy that flavorful meat juices spilled out with each bite... happiness

Popular places to enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) in Sapporo’s Nishi Ward area

Negima Oden Toriharu

Negima Oden Toriharu, located right by the north exit of JR Kotoni Station, is a restaurant where you can enjoy more than 20 kinds of oden (Japanese one pot dish) at all times along with charcoal grilled yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).

The interior is bright and clean. There are counter seats, tables, and zashiki (tatami seating), and it is said to have a warm atmosphere rooted in the local community.

The popular "negima-kushi (chicken and scallion skewer)" wraps scallions in chicken, making it a hearty skewer.

The juicy chicken and the texture of the scallions go well together, and with each bite, rich flavor fills your mouth.

The signature “amiabura tori reba kushi (chicken liver skewer wrapped in pork caul fat)” is a skewer of liver wrapped in pork caul fat, and it is said to have an excellent balance of rich fat and tender liver.

Reviews said the sauce is not too strong and well balanced, and that you can enjoy its plump texture.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was also delicious. The liver skewer with a 90-second best time to eat was tasty too, but the negima (chicken and scallion skewer) is really good! No doubt about it.. Everything was delicious, and the prices were easy on the wallet. It was full just after 19:00. It seems to be popular with younger people. P.S. The sparkling Japanese sake was delicious.

The otoshi (small appetizer) is amazingly sashimi! Soi (rockfish), tai (sea bream), hotate (scallop), and salmon. Every piece is rich and tasty! I love places where even the otoshi is this good! The Ootoro Horumon is great with sauce. Plump fatty Horumon topped with green onion! The sweet and savory sauce is the best. I also had a few skewers, and they were super tasty grilled over charcoal!
