It was so fuwa-fuwa (airy and fluffy) that it was hard to even hold by hand. And it had a mochi-mochi (soft and chewy) texture. Without a doubt, it was the No.1 donut of my life among all the donuts I’ve ever had.

・Chocolate
The first bite is a surprise, thanks to its amazingly soft and chewy texture! The gentle sweetness of the natural yeast and the nicely balanced chocolate that is not too sweet make it feel so light you could eat as many as you want. The flavor shows the care that goes into making it, and it was a truly comforting gem of a shop that I would definitely want to stop by every time I visit Kyoto.

This time, I had hojicha (roasted green tea), the basic powdered sugar one, and strawberry pistachio, and the strawberry pistachio was number one. The rich strawberry sauce, almost like strawberry jam, made a great accent for the doughnut, and it had a kind of deliciousness you cannot find anywhere else.

・Cream Frost
This donut is topped with butter, vanilla, and cream cheese, and the cheese had a fairly strong tang. The donut itself was really easy to eat, with none of the greasy heaviness that donuts often have, but it also was not so fluffy and light that it left you without a sense of Manzoku. It was an excellent donut.
