The raisin butter sandwich with sherry and rum is excellent. You really have to try it to understand. Since I wanted a cocktail that would pair with the raisin butter sandwich, they made me a blueberry spritzer. It had a more vibrant aroma than a regular spritzer and tasted great.

I had YAKOUBOKU, which is also the name of the shop. It had a complex flavor that is hard to sum up in a few words, and I was able to enjoy a grown-up kind of time, slowly thinking about the sake (Japanese alcohol) as I drank. They also had several kinds of sweets, including bonbon chocolat, and alcohol and chocolate made a perfect match.

・Kumamon 007
A martini named after Kumamon, this is the strongest cocktail on the menu. It had a fruity flavor with passion fruit, making it easy to drink while still being a special cocktail with a satisfying feel.

・M-30 Rain
Stolichnaya Vodka, Pamplemousse, and a blue curacao called Charles Vaneau were lined up right in front of me, and the finished cocktail was a beautiful light blue. It had a clean, refreshing taste, with a slight bitterness as well.

にゃがえもん

I had a Laphroaig with whisky and water that Mr. Baba, the owner bartender, recommended, made with ultra-soft water from Ubuyama Village in Aso. The drink had none of the usual alcoholic edge of whisky with water, and the lingering peaty aroma of the Laphroaig lasted a very long time. For me personally, it was a shocking glass of whisky with water.

ねりまる

・Tullamore Dew
My first Irish in a while. After a fresh grassy aroma, it gives way to a honey-like sweetness. It feels light and smooth, but straight up it is strong enough to make you feel tipsy. It might have been nice to reuse a mint julep glass.

I usually ask them to make a fruit based cocktail as Omakase, and they serve a really good cocktail every time. At a bar like this, I think going with Omakase is the smartest choice rather than trying to order something specific myself.

manmarupuni

The homemade raisin butter, the potatoes that come with a tasty sauce, the amazingly wide selection of good chocolate, dried fruit, and fruit cocktails. Every single one of them is delicious!

食べるワーキングウーマン

For the first drink, I had a Dekopon (Japanese citrus) cocktail as a local fruit cocktail. The balance of Dekopon’s sweetness and acidity was just right, and I enjoyed it along with the fruit pulp.

まんおじ

Choosing the glass is fun from the start. Rather than looking at a typical menu, if you describe what you want by image, they will make something that hits the mark really well. I liked it a lot.

For someone like me who works in customer service, where I help choose seats and make conversation based on each guest who comes in, everything was a great learning experience, and I had such a good time that I ended up staying quite a while.

・Suntory Royal
Speaking of bottle keep from 40 years ago, there was Daruma, or Suntory Old. And a little more upscale than that was Royal. The square bottle brings back memories. It has a nostalgic taste when you drink it as a highball.

GOLD0389

I thought I would have just one drink, but I ended up ordering a highball too, and this is a place where you can enjoy a carefully made, very high quality highball as well!
