Popular kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurants in Osaka, Osaka Prefecture

Kaiten Sushi Sakae Hankyu Higashi-dori Ten

This kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurant is a 5-minute walk from Umeda Station, along the Hankyu Higashi-dori Shopping Street.

The sushi chefs are particular about flavor, skill, and service. Counter seating surrounds the rotating lane, and guests can order toppings directly from the chefs in the center.

The restaurant serves fresh toppings sourced from fishing ports around Japan. Even during prep, they carefully check the condition of each ingredient.

For the shari (sushi rice), they use Special rice selected to match the flavor and freshness of the toppings. They are so particular about sushi that they even change how they cook the rice based on the day’s temperature and humidity.

The contents of the "Lunch Set" change with the season, and it comes with 8 pieces of nigiri sushi, 2 gunkan (battleship-style sushi) pieces, 2 maki (rolled sushi) pieces, and fish akadashi (red miso soup).

All of the toppings are very fresh, and the portion is just right for lunchtime.

You can enjoy high-class sushi from JPY154 per plate♡ I was especially impressed by the salmon, which had a big topping! The rice was also plump with just the right amount of vinegar, and it was excellent.

As expected, I can never skip the headed akaebi (red shrimp) and the hamachi (yellowtail) belly that is not on the menu every time(゜∇^d)!!The tekka hosomaki (thin tuna roll) and unakyu (eel and cucumber roll) are reliably good too(ノ^∇^)ノI skipped the draft beer because I was getting totally full.

Edomae Kaiten Sushi Kishu Yaichi Tennoji MIO Plaza Ten

Edomae Kaiten Sushi Kishu Yaichi Tennoji MIO Plaza Ten is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant born in Wakayama where you can enjoy authentic Edomae sushi (Tokyo-style sushi). It is located on the 4th floor of the MIO Plaza building, right outside Tennoji Station.

Many reviews say the restaurant has a bright, clean atmosphere that makes it easy to stop by casually.

They use only high quality ingredients for the neta (toppings), sourced from production regions and fishing grounds across Japan.

The shari (sushi rice) follows a local production for local consumption concept. They blend Hinohikari and Kinuhikari rice from Wakayama Prefecture in their own ratio, then finish it with an original akazu (red vinegar) made from kasuzu (sake lees vinegar).

For lunch, they offer four kinds of "Ajisai Hiruzen," a set that comes with nigiri sushi, aka-dashi (red miso soup), and chawanmushi (savory egg custard).

The "Kishu" set includes 10 pieces of nigiri sushi with very fresh toppings, and because it is Edomae-style, it gives the impression that each piece has had an extra touch of care.

Since I was dining alone, I reserved a counter seat. Photos of the sushi were rotating right in front of me, but I ordered from a touch panel. They made each piece right in front of me and served it right away, which was Surprising! Everything I ate was delicious. For tea, I could choose from ryokucha (green tea), hojicha (roasted green tea), and genmaicha (brown rice tea).

That day, they had conger eel sushi served “whole in one piece,” and the fluffy anago (conger eel) had just the right amount of sweet sauce soaked into it, melting in my mouth the moment I took a bite! The atmosphere is bright and clean, so it feels easy to drop in even alone, and it also seems great for families or groups of friends.

Morimori Sushi Ion Mall Osaka Dome Ten

Morimori Sushi Aeon Mall Osaka Dome Ten is a kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurant located on the 4th floor of Aeon Mall Osaka Dome City, directly connected to Dome-mae Station.

When you order using the touch panel, the sushi is served to you from the lane. The dining area is clean, and both the table seats and counter seats are said to be easy to use.

They source fresh toppings from (Each) fishing port in Kanazawa and Noto.

They use Koshihikari rice from the Hokuriku region. The rice vinegar, known for its mild, natural acidity and elegant aroma, and the soy sauce, with its sweet profile and deep richness, are all from Hokuriku as well.

The popular menu items “Sushi 3-piece assortment” and “Sushi 5-piece assortment” feature fresh seasonal toppings, so the contents change depending on the season and what is available.

The “Goka 3-piece assortment (luxury 3-piece assortment)” is a highly satisfying dish with red shrimp, sea urchin and salmon roe, and fatty tuna.

I ordered a 3-item set with nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), shrimp, and crab, which you do not often get to eat. Everything was good, but the rich fatty flavor of the nodoguro was the best! The shiro-ebi (white shrimp) Kara-age was not available, maybe because of the time, so I got the kakiage (mixed tempura fritter) instead. It had a nice sweetness, was crispy, and tasted great.

Kaisenzushi Totogin Miyakojima Ten

This kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurant, where artisans hand-form each piece, is a 3-minute walk from the Osaka City Bus Takakuracho 3-chome stop. The shop name “Totogin” is a coined word that combines alternate names for fresh fish and sushi rice.

Each table has a tablet for ordering sushi.

They carefully prepare and serve fresh fish processed that morning by skilled chefs.

For the shari (sushi rice), they use Special Domestic rice, and for the nori (seaweed), they use premium Ariake-san (from Ariake) nori. People say you can enjoy the soft, airy shari that only hand-formed sushi can offer.

The "Maguro-zukushi (all-tuna assortment)" is a set menu where you can enjoy five kinds of tuna: hon-maguro (bluefin tuna) otoro, hon-maguro chutoro, hon-maguro akami, bincho-maguro (albacore tuna), and kihada-maguro (yellowfin tuna).

Because they use Special selected hon-maguro, it is said to have excellent richness and fat.

I ordered the sushi lunch C, the most popular item on the lunch menu. I also added chawanmushi (savory egg custard) for an extra 100円. It arrived after a short wait! The sushi was very simply and nicely done! But the chawanmushi had a rich dashi flavor that was well worth the price, and it was packed with ingredients! It was really delicious!

First, everyone made a toast, and then each table freely ordered whatever they liked from the tablet (^_^) We enjoyed a tuna tasting comparison, fried dishes to go with the drinks, and more, and my mother was happy and said everything was delicious (^_^)

Maybe because I’ve been working around Shinsaibashi more often lately, I’ve been coming here more too. This time as well, I visited a little after 1 p.m. on a weekday. There was no wait, and the place was about 50 percent full. I usually just quickly eat the shrimp and chawanmushi (savory egg custard) I like, and I’m done in under 20 minutes. It’s convenient.

When I was reading the reviews, they said the fried tofu in the Kitsune (deep-fried tofu) udon was big, so I tried it at the end! At JPY300, it was seriously tasty, and the fried tofu really was huge!! At this level of good for this price, if I lived nearby, I’d end up coming here all the time!

Luckily, there was an open parking spot and we got into the restaurant without waiting, but by the time we started eating, people were already lining up. The restaurant uses a touch panel ordering system, and we had katsuo no tataki (seared bonito), ika no sugata nigiri (whole squid nigiri), salmon harasu (fatty belly), nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), and tempura udon, which left us completely full.

I’m happy that I can relax and enjoy good sushi in a Private room. I also recommend the freeze-dried aosa (green laver) soup sold next to the register. It was a great meal.

Every piece here is simply delicious. That says it all about Shinsen Yasan. The hon-maguro (bluefin tuna) lean cut was so rich it made me wonder if it was actually toro, melting in the mouth with a touch of sweetness. In autumn, the best of the season is sanma (Pacific saury). I enjoyed a whole fish prepared three ways: raw, seared, and topped with wata (fish innards). It was rich with fat, had no off notes, and was seasonal seafood at its best.

・Half nigiri set with akadashi (red miso soup)
The 12 pieces of nigiri include hamachi (young yellowtail), tuna, squid, salmon, ikura (salmon roe) (gunkan), negitoro (minced tuna with green onion) (gunkan), octopus, Sea Bream, shrimp, engawa (flounder fin), tamago (Japanese omelet), and anago (conger eel)!! Every single one was delicious (*´∀`*) so good~♪ The akadashi was tasty too, with a big piece of fish in it (probably hamachi?) (*´∀`*) so good~♪

There is also a wide variety of sushi, along with lots of udon and side dishes, and the dashi (soup stock) is very good. Recommended choices include Osaka specialty kasu-udon (udon with fried beef intestines) and kitsune udon.
