I went with the Omakase course, and each dish was wonderful, so I got more excited every time something was served ⤴️It’s yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), but with French sauces for a Japanese-Western mix, arranged as a course you can enjoy more than twice as much! Being able to eat the sauce with bread also gives it a French feel. French food can seem rich, but this always had a bit of freshness to it, so I could keep eating even when I was full

A stylish yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) spot in Jinbocho with a great atmosphere✨They offer course meals only, but some are not overly filling, which makes it easy to visit casually too! The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is tender and grilled with great care. From the main dishes to dessert, there is more to enjoy here than just the standard items. Rather than feeling like an izakaya (Japanese pub), it has a calm atmosphere where you can take your time and enjoy the meal. The staff all served us with warm smiles and polite service, which made the whole experience very pleasant.

I had delicious yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and had a great time. It was a cold day, so I was really happy that the otoshi (small appetizer) was chawanmushi (savory egg custard). The yakitori was also grilled just right.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was very good. I ordered the 5-skewer course, and enjoyed every one of them. Everything besides the yakitori was tasty too. They have Japanese sake that pairs well with the yakitori. I ended up ordering more and got to enjoy several different kinds. It feels just right for people who enjoy drinking.

We mainly had chicken dishes. The yakitori assortment came with both salt and tare (sweet soy based sauce), and they must source good chicken. Everything was delicious!

Some of the dishes had ao-togarashi (green chili peppers) in them, and they were spicier than I expected, but still very good. As you would expect from a chicken specialty place, every yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) was delicious. I stopped by on a whim because it seemed easy to get to from where I was, and it turned out to be a really good restaurant. I was also satisfied with the hospitality.

Kushiyaki Hakata Matsusuke Kanda Ten

Kushiyaki Hakata Matsusuke Kanda Ten, located on the 1st floor of Kanda Square, is a 10-minute walk from Jimbocho Station Exit A9. This kushiyaki restaurant serves yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and other local specialties from Hakata, Fukuoka Prefecture.

The "Ganso Hakata Torotama" in the photo is a creative skewer made by wrapping a soft-boiled egg in pork belly. You can enjoy the harmony of the rich yolk, the fragrant grilled pork, and the sweet-savory sauce, and it goes great with drinks.

Each kushiyaki (grilled skewer) is carefully done, and it actually leaves a good impression that the grilling technique does not feel showy in a strange way. You can clearly smell the charcoal, but it is not so strong that it covers up the ingredients, and the natural character of each chicken skewer and vegetable comes through honestly.

We mainly had yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), along with a few small dishes, and everything was consistently good and clearly made with care. The balance between the quality of the ingredients and the grilling was spot on, and it naturally made the drinks go down easy. The staff’s subtle attention to detail and pleasant service also stood out, and we felt comfortable throughout our visit.

HASHimo

The food came out quickly after we ordered! The motsunikomi (stewed offal) had Honeycomb tripe in it and tasted great! The flavor was kind of like beef stew, maybe demi-glace? So it might not be for everyone. The skewers, especially the kashira (pork cheek), Heart, and Outside skirt, were satisfying and very tasty! They also had yagen nankotsu (chicken breast cartilage), and I was very Manzoku!

鶏口となるも牛後となるなかれ

I’ve visited several times, and every time I come back I’m reminded of just how polished everything is. Midorikawa-san’s grilling is exactly what you’d expect, bringing out the best in each of the three kinds of jidori (local chicken) with cooking tailored to their individual character. The crisp skin, the juicy meat, even the way the flavor comes through all feel carefully calculated.

About a 10-minute walk from Jimbocho Station, Ochanomizu Toridori is located on the basement first floor of a building along Kobaidori Street.

Every yakitori skewer was delicious, and quite a few skewers were already sold out, so going early is a good idea. They also had some Japanese sake that looked really good! The soba at the end also had a nice chew and was delicious!

I visited on a friend’s recommendation. In the slightly dim dining room with a great atmosphere, you can enjoy really good food. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) in particular was so tasty that I kept wanting to order more, with both the salt and tare sauce seasoning perfectly balanced. There was also a wide variety of drinks, all of them good, and even the selection of Japanese sake was extensive, so I had a great time from start to finish.

ゆず1972

A restaurant with great yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and Kara-age. The yakitori is reasonably priced and very tasty, and for the Kara-age you can choose anywhere from 1 piece to 60 pieces. Also, the crazy large potato assortment is really crazy large, and when two of us tried to eat it, things got pretty wild. Be careful with the crazy large serving. But it was so good that we finished it all.

The kawa (chicken skin) had a great texture, and the sweet savory sauce was nice too! The more I chewed, the more flavor came out, and it made the beer go down easy. The sunagimo (gizzard) had a nice texture, but it was fairly standard... the thigh meat was just too good!
