Yakiniku Sudou Kumamoto Honten, about a 2-minute walk from Shidentorichosuji Station, is a full-attendance style Yakiniku restaurant, and many people enjoy it with the Omakase course.
They use Special Yakiniku, mainly Kyushu kurogemagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu), it is said. There are roll-screen partitions between the tables.

An assortment where you can enjoy one slice each of Chateaubriand, Hanging tender, akaushi (Japanese brown beef), and tongue. The balance of fat and lean is just right, and the quality of the meat is said to be so good it makes you groan with every bite.
Chateaubriand in particular apparently only needs a light sear for its aroma to rise, and it melted in the mouth the moment it was eaten.

The "yasai-yaki (grilled vegetables)" uses fresh vegetables from Kumamoto, and lets you really taste the natural flavor of the ingredients. They season it lightly with olive oil and salt.
Reviews also say that on the course menu, they serve vegetables at just the right times between the meat dishes, making for a nice palate cleanser.

No more talk. Just go. It might ruin other Yakiniku for you. I chose a course that came with basashi (horse sashimi) and leba-sashi (beef liver sashimi), but I enjoyed even more meat with extra orders. Tanmoto (base of the tongue), Outside skirt, Strip loin, Chateaubriand, kamenoko (part of the round), and more made for the ultimate bite of happiness. It is without a doubt the best in Kyushu.

Overall, the quality of the meat was very good, and the two kinds of Tenderloin and the Strip loin were especially tasty. We could choose the closing dish, but curry at a Yakiniku restaurant with great meat is always a safe bet on the Teppan-yaki. We could also see the illuminated Kumamotojo (Kumamoto Castle) outside the window.

The "Taisho Osusume Kiwami assortment" is said to be an assortment of five kinds of the best meat available that day. The photo shows a serving for 2 people, and you can also order a half portion.
The staff will also advise you on the order to eat them in, such as "Start with barausu (a cut from the belly) and finish with Tenderloin."

The “Horumon assortment” also seems to be popular. The photo shows three kinds: Mountain chain tripe, Heart, and liver.
You can apparently watch the staff take the meat out of the refrigerated case and cut it up on the spot. It is full of impact and really gets you excited.

Everything comes from Kumamoto, so the akaushi (Japanese Brown beef), horse meat, and vegetables were all incredibly fresh, which really impressed me. I expected the meat to be good, but the sweetness of the vegetables was on a completely different level from what I usually eat in Tokyo. I’d like to stop by again next time I come to Kumamoto.

And then came the much anticipated Yakiniku made with akaushi (Japanese brown beef). The lean meat released more and more rich flavor with every bite, filling my mouth with happiness. What I especially liked was a rare cut recommended by the staff. It was so tender, and I still can’t forget that melt in your mouth texture.

The set of barley rice and grated yam To finish is popular. It has a strangely nice taste that goes down easily even after the meat, and people say it is a must order To finish at the end.
The tororo (grated yam) is said to use a hybrid of sticky wild jinenjo (Japanese yam) and yamatoimo (Japanese mountain yam).

No matter what meat you order, it tastes great, and the place was always full of locals. They also serve basashi (horse sashimi), so you can enjoy it here without having to go out of your way to a specialty basashi restaurant. They also had recommended akaushi (Japanese brown beef) for the day, and that was tasty too. What I liked most was the Yakiniku sauce. With that sauce, I felt like I could eat endless bowls of rice.

They also have horse Horumon and grilled vegetables. You can take your time grilling and enjoy them. The rich taste of the horse liver is different from that of beef liver. This light liver is something unique to horse meat. Sakura-niku (horse meat) grilled with miso marinade also has a rich taste, and it goes great with a highball.

I love Horumon and charcoal grilling, so of course I was going to love this combo♪Stewed Horumon. This was just so good, with the Horumon simmered well in miso, and all that rich flavor coming through in the soup, which made it really tasty. The assorted Horumon platter. It's a great deal to get as many as 9 kinds~, and I was happy to see cuts I don't usually eat too, like Lung and oppai (udder)

This is a place where you can enjoy horse meat along with regular Yakiniku like beef and pork at the same time. I visited because I wanted to try grilling and eating horse meat. The salted Beef Tongue was shockingly good! It was seasoned with a Special salt koji sauce, so it was tasty even without adding anything. You can also try rare cuts like Knuckle main muscle and togaarashi (part of the brisket). There were also fun ways to eat it, like wrapping onion around the meat, and I was completely satisfied. The All you can drink selection was also very extensive!

We were able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace in a calm Private room. All of the meat was delicious. The kalbi (short rib), roast, and Special ippon naga-tan (long beef tongue) were especially good. A flower was casually placed on the plate, which gave it a stylish touch. We went with the All you can drink option for drinks. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, making it a fun and tasty night in Kumamoto.

As for the taste of akaushi (Japanese Brown beef), it has a bit more of a grass fed beef character than Kuroge Wagyu. It has a satisfying bite and is juicy, and it tastes great eaten with shochu (Japanese distilled spirit). Salt is recommended. If you asked which is better, this or Kuroge Wagyu, many people would probably choose Kuroge Wagyu, but if you come to Kumamoto, you have to try this.

We mainly had Horumonman Karubi, along with grilled vegetables and Horumon, and To finish we ate garlic rice and Yakinikuya no Curry. I think everything was delicious. The curry was light, maybe to go well with the meat. The karubi had a rich meaty flavor. I think 90 minutes of All you can eat and All you can drink for 4500円 with this lineup is amazing. About a 6-minute walk from Shiden Kumamotojo-Shiyakushomae Station, Hire-niku Junchan is a Yakiniku restaurant known for bold dishes made with fresh Tenderloin. Its signature dish is the “Tenderloin Block Yaki (grilled block of Tenderloin).”
The side menu is also extensive, with items like Tenderloin curry. There are four courses that come with 100 minutes of All you can drink.

The specialty "Block-yaki (grilled meat block) with Chateaubriand, Tenderloin" is said to make a huge impact with its 1kg block. The staff grills it and cuts it into portions.
The meat is tender and tastes great even with just salt, but when you try it with the recommended margarine soy sauce, it is said to be so good that you cannot help but moan in delight.

The "Beef Tenderloin Meat Jus Curry" is said to be a luxurious dish made with plenty of tenderloin, packed with rich meat flavor. Rather than having chunky pieces of meat, it sounds like the curry roux coats the meat all over.
Among the side dishes, the generously filled sundubu Chige is said to have an excellent balance of heat and good flavor.

The sliced onions in the otoshi (appetizer) All you can eat had such a great flavor, and they made the meat taste nice and refreshing! The premium Tenderloin was, as expected, more tender. There are two kinds of tongue: premium tongue and Aged tongue. Grilled over charcoal, I took a bite of the premium tongue first. It was good, really quite good. Next came the Aged tongue, and that was tasty too. Compared with the premium tongue, it felt more moist and had more umami. Then I had the Aged lean meat with rock salt and wasabi. I thought regular lean meat and Aged meat were quite different.

Multiple reviews say the akaushi (Japanese brown beef) Rice bowl was delicious. The sauce apparently goes very well with the lean meat.
They buy one whole head of carefully selected akaushi and age it. The sauce is homemade and uses black garlic.
Every table had an irori (?) hearth, and the atmosphere made it feel like we were in Aso, not in the city! We ate lots of different meats and dengaku (grilled skewered foods with miso), and everything was so good that we were totally Manzoku ✨ The tables were spaced just right, so we could really relax, and it was not noisy or crowded at all. I visited because they serve Yakiniku made with Akaushi (Japanese brown beef) from Aso in Kumamoto. The restaurant has a counter-focused setup unlike most others, though it also has tables, and the atmosphere feels a bit like a sushi restaurant, with a Japanese touch shown in details like Arita-yaki (Arita ware) tableware. For Horumon, there are 9 kinds, including three types of tongue (Beef Tongue, premium Beef Tongue, and Wagyu Beef Tongue), as well as Outside skirt, tsurami (cheek meat), liver, Mountain chain tripe, and Heart.

The interior is new, clean, and stylish. Yakiniku really is best grilled over charcoal ✌️Of course the meat is great, and the Horumon selection is also extensive. The drinks were good too. I finished with a combo of kalbi (boneless short rib) and rice.

The quality of the meat was good and it tasted great! The salad and kimchi were also tasty. The restaurant was clean, and the staff service was excellent. Even though it was charcoal grilled, the ventilation was strong and I did not notice any smell. It was definitely a place I want to visit again.

The Wagyu whole-cut assortment, basashi (horse sashimi), and other dishes were all more than satisfying, with the quality of the ingredients really coming through, and the whole family was completely Manzoku. The dining room was spacious and had a calm atmosphere. With roll-up curtains adding a subtle sense of privacy, we were able to spend a quiet and Special time.

This was my first time trying nama-kimchi (fresh kimchi). It was also my first time having kimchi with such a crisp texture! The meat assortment came out on a cow-shaped plate. The Wagyu can be eaten after just a quick sear. It was tender and delicious.

Along with Domestic lean cuts such as the "Bondo kalbi" and "lean roast," the popular "green onion salt tongue" is also a must-try when you visit here.
At lunchtime, you can also choose a set meal. The "Kalbi Mix set meal" lets you enjoy kalbi from various cuts. It is nicely marbled, and it apparently goes great with rice.

The fresh Horumon and tongue were all delicious, and I couldn’t stop eating rice. The portions are very generous, and the value for money is excellent. The interior has a calm atmosphere, and with both counter seats and zashiki (tatami seating), it’s easy to visit whether you’re alone or with family. The staff are polite and make the place very comfortable. A famous Yakiniku spot in Kashima that fans will love

Today, the meat was in even better condition than usual and tasted incredibly good. The salad, kimchi, tamago kake gohan (rice mixed with raw egg), and the meat were all great. The grilled vegetables were tasty too. You really can’t go wrong with a restaurant that serves such good vegetables.

Popular Yakiniku restaurants in Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture
Photograph:bdf46d
Irori Nikusuke is a Yakiniku restaurant in Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture. The restaurant is particular about Kumamoto brands such as Akaushi (Japanese brown cattle) from Aso, horse meat, and jidori (local chicken) Amakusa Daio, and it has also become a topic of conversation for its unusual setup, with every room equipped with an irori (traditional hearth).
In addition to three courses called Ume, Take, and Matsu, there is also the Higo no Irori Kaiseki course, where you can enjoy Akaushi and Amakusa Daio.
Photograph:mac.taicho
The "Akaushi Enju-gyu assortment" is an assortment of kalbi, Nakaochi Kalbi, and Premium Loin. Enju-gyu (carefully raised akaushi beef) is said to come from cattle raised with attention to feed and the rearing environment, even among akaushi (Japanese brown cattle).
Rather than grilling, you eat it more like lightly roasting it over an irori (traditional sunken hearth), which lets just the right amount of fat drip off and makes it excellent.

"Koshin Pork Teppan-yaki ~samgyeopsal style~" is a dish of pork belly, cabbage, garlic chives, and kimchi cooked on a rimmed Teppan-yaki griddle.
It is said to be an excellent dish, with the sourness and heat of the kimchi in harmony with the sweetness of the meat and vegetables.
Happy OL Hour
The atmosphere is very appealing, letting you relax and enjoy your meal in a lively space centered around an irori (sunken hearth). Kumamoto akaushi (Japanese Brown beef), horse meat, and seasonal vegetables are carefully grilled over charcoal, bringing out the full flavor of each ingredient with an excellent balance of smoky aroma and juiciness. On top of that, the thoughtful presentation and seasoning of each dish make the whole meal even more Manzoku.

・Niku no Kaidan (meat staircase)
It was bigger than I expected and had a huge impact! They explained that you should eat it from the bottom step up, so I started with the tongue. It was thin, and maybe I overcooked it a little, so it was very ordinary. From the second step, I moved into the karubi (short rib) zone. It was great! Each cut had a different texture, and I could enjoy the rich flavor of the fat.
