Shunsai Obanzai Totaku

Shunsai Obanzai Totaku is an izakaya a 8-minute walk from the north exit of JR Fujisawa Station. With a focus on local production for local consumption, you can enjoy seasonal ingredients in Japanese cuisine.

Inside, there are counter and table seats, creating a small and homey atmosphere.

The “Selectable Obanzai (Kyoto-style home cooking) Three-Item Assortment” lets you choose any 3 dishes from more than 10 kinds of obanzai prepared each day.

Obanzai refers to everyday side dishes such as simmered dishes and dressed dishes that have long been enjoyed in Kyoto homes. At this restaurant, they offer seasonal items made with fresh Fujisawa vegetables.

They also pay close attention to the vessels for Japanese sake, so you can enjoy the look as well, with options like glasses, Fujisan (Mount Fuji)-shaped sake ware, and tin ochoko (small sake cups).

The staff carefully explain the seasonal limited label selections, which guests like because it makes it easy to choose a drink that pairs well with the food.

名無しの若鷹

This was a very good izakaya (Japanese pub) where you can enjoy local fish and obanzai (Kyoto-style home cooking)! The top recommendation is the softly simmered local octopus. It is wonderfully sweet and tender, and an excellent dish. They also have many kinds of sour cocktails made with local fruit, so you can enjoy a nice variety!

The selection of drinks was solid, with a good lineup of Japanese sake and shochu, and they paired perfectly with the food. When we asked the staff for recommendations, they carefully explained the seasonal limited edition Japanese sake, which made the meal even more Manzoku.

For Japanese sake, they always stock about 40 kinds of local sake from around Japan, including Dassai, which is in the restaurant's name, as well as Aramasa, Jikon, and Nabeshima.

The "Dassai Sparkling" in the photo is said to have a gentle sweetness and fruity aroma, with a light mouthfeel that makes it easy to drink.

This is the restaurant's Most Popular menu item, tebasaki Kara-age (fried chicken wings).

It is crisp on the outside and juicy inside, with sun-dried Cambodian pepper adding a nice accent to the flavor. It also pairs perfectly with beer.

I went right when they opened on Saturday, and it seemed I was the only one who got in without a reservation, so I recommend booking in advance. From the interior to the plates, everything is very stylish, and the food is stylish and delicious too. Everything was great, but the buri-daikon (simmered yellowtail and daikon radish) and the Clay Pot rice with salmon and ikura (salmon roe) were unbelievably good. I’m happy to have such a stylish and relaxing restaurant in Fujisawa.

The atmosphere and the food are both very good. It is a place with a grown-up feel. There are also Private rooms in the back. The menu has many dishes, and everything you order tastes great. You can enjoy both meat and vegetables, and the seasonal limited-time dishes all look worth ordering. There is also a wide selection of drinks, from wine to Japanese sake and shochu. If you plan to visit, a reservation is essential because there are not many seats.

Nobori

Noboru is a 5-minute walk from Fujisawa Station on (Each) line. This izakaya offers a lineup of dishes that pair well with drinks, including sashimi made with fresh fish carefully selected by the head chef.

Inside, the warm Japanese-style space has counter and table seating, making it a calm place to enjoy a relaxed grown-up time.

The house specialty, “Ebi Ippai Okara (okara packed with shrimp),” is one of the dishes many people order first when they visit.

It is filled with ingredients like dried shrimp and green onions, and is known for its layered umami from many different flavors. The okara (soy pulp) has a gentle sweetness with just the right amount of saltiness, and it is also popular as a great snack to go with drinks.

The selection of Japanese sake includes about 15 kinds in total, with regular favorites and seasonal bottles, and you can order from 1 go, so trying a tasting comparison is also recommended.

The "Hakurakusei Junmai Ginjo" in the photo is one of the regular staples. It has a fruity aroma and a fresh acidity, and its clean, crisp taste makes it easy to pair with food.

The food came out fairly quickly, and I felt each dish had a decent portion size, especially the salad. I also liked that some of the snacks to go with drinks were creative dishes, so I could enjoy some new flavors too.

The interior is very clean and has a nice atmosphere. I liked being able to see the ingredients of the day and bottles of Japanese sake from the counter. Every dish was very good! The motsu nikomi (stewed offal) was especially outstanding! Unusually for motsu nikomi, it had a clear broth, and its light, savory flavor was excellent! And I was also happy that the tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet), which I always end up ordering, was reliably delicious!

The "Mimurosugi" in the photo is a Japanese sake made by Imanishi Shuzo in Nara Prefecture. They say you can enjoy its fresh and clear taste.

On this day, the “tataki 3-kind assortment” featured an assortment of aji (horse mackerel) namero, madai (Sea Bream) dressed with plum paste, and tuna toro-taku.

The aji had the rich flavor you expect from blue-backed fish, while the toro-taku let diners enjoy the fatty tuna and the smoky aroma of iburigakko (smoked pickled daikon). The types of fish seem to change with the season.

kotori303

The stylish interior has a cafe-like feel. We chose a table, but the counter also looked nice. The lineup of Japanese sake is very extensive. After beer and highballs, we moved on to Japanese sake. The snacks all went well with the drinks, including lightly seared mentaiko (spicy cod roe), grilled jidori (local chicken), and Sea Bream chikuwa (tube-shaped fish cake) isobe-age (seaweed-batter fried), and everything was delicious. It was a lovely place!

The interior is small, but it is a lovely and homey restaurant. We were shown to seats that were half outdoors? and they had a kotatsu (heated table), but since it was winter, it was still quite cold. The food was very good, and everything we ordered was a great choice!!

denji-papa

The meal starts with isaki (grunt). I think its peak season is almost over, but it still has plenty of fat and tastes great. The uzaku (eel and cucumber with vinegar) is excellent, and the agedashi (lightly fried tofu in broth) is just as good. They serve dishes like these at a good pace, with the right spacing and in a well planned order. The dining room is full, and they even have Banquet guests, which makes it all the more impressive. This smooth operation is one of the charms of this restaurant.

shou.あじたんぽ

They had a wide selection of Japanese sake, and after eating plenty of food too, I was completely Manzoku. They also had many kinds of Japanese sake that are not often stocked in Tokyo, such as Jikon and Toyo Bijin, so it felt like the kind of place that is worth visiting just for the drinks alone because of the great variety! The food was also good, and the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was especially tasty with salt seasoning being the best!!

Inside, the restaurant has a homey feel that you only get from an independent establishment. At the counter, even solo diners can relax and take their time, while the table seats and Private room are great for lively meals with friends and groups.

This restaurant is known for its lineup of dishes that pair perfectly with drinks, and many people seem to visit looking forward to the daily special.

The photo shows namerou (minced fish with miso and condiments), a fisherman's dish made by chopping together fish, miso, and yakumi (condiments). Here, it is served using local fish caught that morning. On this day, they used horse mackerel.

In addition to its A la carte menu, the restaurant also offers a wide range of course plans with All you can drink.

The salad, meat dishes, sashimi (raw fish), pizza, and ochazuke (rice with tea or broth) all get good reviews for being tasty and filling. The photo shows part of a course meal.

Though it bills itself as a shochu dining spot, it also has a full lineup of beer, sours, and other low alcohol drinks. The food is good too, with fresh fish and vegetables, and even dishes like chicken Kara-age are properly tasty. Written as Ajito Oto and read as Ajito, it has a hideaway kind of feel and is always lively.

The food menu is very extensive, with a wide range of genres to enjoy. In addition to yurinchi (fried chicken with sauce) and hiyayakko (chilled tofu), we also had pasta and fried rice. Everything was hearty, boldly seasoned, and paired perfectly with drinks!!

Private room Izakaya Horoyoi Fujisawa Ten

Koshitsu Izakaya Horoyoi Fujisawa Ten is a fully private room izakaya, just a 2-minute walk from the south exit of JR Fujisawa Station. The wood-toned Japanese modern space can accommodate groups of all sizes, from small to large.

The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including kaisen (seafood) and grilled items, and there is also a full lineup of courses with All you can drink.

At this restaurant, you can enjoy an All you can drink plan without ordering a course, and pair it with your favorite A la carte dishes.

The lineup is wide too, with about 100 options including beer, sours, shochu, wine, whisky, and Japanese sake. The photo shows the “tomato sour,” which is also included in the All you can drink plan.

"Ika ichiya-boshi (overnight dried squid)" is dried squid made by drying fresh squid for just one night to bring out its umami.

It is known for its fragrant grilled skin and rich flavor that spreads with each bite, and it also pairs well with Japanese sake.

An overall lineup you can enjoy with no misses. It feels like a Teppan-yaki izakaya in Fujisawa where you can relax in a Private room and enjoy everything in good balance, from seafood and fried dishes to the final course and dessert! The high level of Manzoku makes you want to come back again.

About a 2-minute walk from the south exit of Fujisawa Station, this place has all Private room seating, so we could relax without worrying about the people around us. The Beef Tongue and sashimi were delicious. The sours also had a strong flavor and tasted great. Private rooms really are the best. The two of us were shown to a very spacious table, and we were able to enjoy our meal in a proper Private room.

Isomaru Suisan Fujisawa Minamiguchi Hondori Ten

Isomaru Suisan Fujisawa Minamiguchi Hondori Ten is an izakaya located in a great spot just a 1-minute walk from Fujisawa Station on (Each) line.

The restaurant has counter and table seating. In an open space with the feel of a beach house, you can casually enjoy seafood dishes and drinks.

The specialty "hamayaki (grilled seafood)" is a style where seafood freshly lifted from the tank is grilled and enjoyed at (Each) table. You can enjoy it while taking in the Fresh Scent of the Ocean and the sound of it grilling, and eat it while it is still piping hot.

The photo shows "akaebi no kushiyaki (grilled red shrimp skewer)," which is fragrant and packed with flavor, making drinks go down easy, too.

"Katsu aji no sugata-zukuri (whole horse mackerel sashimi prepared live)" is a dish made from fresh horse mackerel that had been swimming in the fish tank and is served right after preparation.

The clear shine of its eyes also shows how fresh it is. The flesh is plump and springy, and reviews say it tastes great.

I went late at night, but as always the place was lively, and I had a great time enjoying my meal! The seafood was fresh and delicious as always! I especially recommend the akaebi (red shrimp) skewers!! You can grill them yourself at the table and eat them just the way you like, so definitely give them a try!!

マサカタギリ

I visited this time for dinner. Although it is an izakaya (Japanese pub), there is no otoshi (table charge appetizer), and you can also just eat a seafood Rice bowl and leave. I’m usually shown to a seat in the back, but this time I asked for a counter seat near the entrance. The restaurant was not very crowded, so I was able to relax and enjoy my meal at a leisurely pace.
