It is also highly rated for the careful grilling over Tosa binchotan (high-grade charcoal from Tosa), which brings out the best in the ingredients.

The “jukusei tsukune (aged chicken meatball) with egg yolk” is a dish packed with rich flavor beneath its light and fluffy texture.

Chopped nankotsu (cartilage) and oba (perilla leaf) add a light accent, and it is said to offer layered flavor from the sweet-savory sauce and the richness of the egg yolk.

The restaurant has a high ceiling and an open feel, with spacious L-shaped counter seating. You can fully enjoy the live, up close feel of watching the chef grill each skewer right in front of you, which builds your anticipation for the next one. The Omakase yakitori is carefully grilled over Domestic Tosa binchotan (Tosa white charcoal) and uses junkei Nagoya Cochin (purebred Nagoya Cochin chicken). Its springy texture and rich flavor stand out, and the grilling was spot on.

ひまなん

They use Nagoya Cochin, a breed the grill master is said to have fallen for, butcher it in-house every morning, and grill it over Tosa binchotan (Tosa white charcoal). When you try it, each portion is large, with rich flavor and an excellent bite. It was a night when every skewer made it clear just how outstanding the grilling is at bringing out the chicken’s best flavor.

I went because I was craving yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). I think the prices are relatively reasonable. They have a nice selection of yakitori, sashimi, and snacks to go with drinks. Personally, I really liked the fried ginkgo nuts and the shishito pepper skewer. The sashimi also came in 3-kind and 5-kind assortments, and there were more A la carte options than I expected. It is also nice that the place is easy to get to!

よっちゃんぶーちゃん

Of course the skewers were good, but the kushiage (deep-fried skewers), Kara-age, and ham katsu were all light and crisp, and even after some time had passed, we could still enjoy them slowly while talking. The udon that looked like a pizza was also tasty. I do not know if it was just the day I visited, but I think it was a restaurant where we could relax and have a calm conversation.

The daikon radish Kara-age wraps well-soaked daikon radish in a crisp coating, and when you bite into it, the flavor spreads out in a juicy burst. I’d order it again if they have it next time!
