Sumibiyaki Torikiyo

Sumibiyaki Torikiyo is a yakitori restaurant with counter seating only, about a 3-minute walk from Nagahoribashi Station on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line. The grill is set in the center of the restaurant, so you can enjoy the cooking up close with a real sense of excitement.

The balcony has a garden, which adds to the charm by giving the place the feel of a ryotei (traditional high-end Japanese restaurant) even though it is right in the middle of the city.

You can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) prepared by a chef devoted to Japanese cuisine, along with creative Japanese dishes with a thoughtful twist.

The popular “Special Course” features recommended kushiyaki (grilled skewers) and the changing seasons. It is built around techniques rooted in tradition, with just a touch of playfulness.

They offer a good selection of beer, Japanese sake, and shochu that pair well with washoku (Japanese cuisine) and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).

The restaurant's original champagne, "Torishan," is a Special drink you can only have here. It was made to pair with chicken dishes, and when enjoyed with yakitori, it brings out the best in both.

Every dish was good, but the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) cooked over charcoal was absolutely irresistible❤️I especially loved the tsukune (chicken meatball skewer), it was so good that I ordered another✨️The jidori momo zaru-yaki (basket-grilled free-range chicken thigh) was also incredibly tasty and really impressed me✨️Even the chestnut gelato we had for dessert was outstanding! From start to finish, it was highly satisfying! There was also a wide variety of drinks, which we really enjoyed❤️

At the center counter, each skewer of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is carefully grilled over Kishu Bincho-tan (premium white charcoal from Kishu), and that great taste is sure to impress ^_^♡ I personally was never that into tsukune (chicken meatballs), but it was so juicy and had such a simple flavor that really let the ingredients shine that I think it was the best one...! It was seriously so, so good,,

Sumibiyaki Tori Mokkei

Sumibiyaki Tori Mokkei is a yakitori restaurant about a 5-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, with a calm interior based on a Japanese style.

This is a place where you can enjoy both the bright, lively atmosphere of chicken being boldly grilled over charcoal and the calm, relaxed atmosphere of taking your time with the food.

You can enjoy the refined aroma of binchotan (high-grade charcoal) and the rich flavor of Special aged jidori (premium local chicken). Miyazaki Jitokko, Niwa Jidori, and Awaodori are each aged individually at ice temperature using the restaurant’s own method. This brings out the chicken’s natural flavor to the fullest.

The popular "Golden Tori Mizutaki" and "Sukiyaki" are also highlights, with the key being a soup packed with concentrated umami.

The photo shows the signature "Ogon no TKG." It is tamago kake gohan (rice topped with raw egg) that the owner says was created as a boost for the Reiwa era.

This tamago kake gohan, topped with an extra rich egg yolk and plenty of gold leaf, is well liked for both its gorgeous look and its taste.

Go down the narrow stairs to B1F and you will find a refined, stylish yakitori restaurant with a calm atmosphere. Just as the reviews say, the negima (chicken and scallion skewer), kebasaki (chicken wing tip), seseri (neck meat), tsukune (chicken meatball) with cheese, nankotsu Kara-age, and everything else are all delicious, really showing the quality of the ingredients. The Wada gobou (burdock root) Kara-age has the natural aroma of burdock, and the seasoning on the crisp coating is spot on! It is highly recommended.

Shinsaibashi Higashi Yakitori porc

Shinsaibashi Higashi Yakitori porc is a yakitori restaurant just steps from Shinsaibashi Station on the Subway Midosuji Line, and its hideaway-like atmosphere in a basement location is part of its appeal.

The stylish interior features subdued lighting. It has counter seats where you can watch the grill chef cook right in front of you, as well as table seating where you can enjoy your meal surrounded by the warmth of wood.

The shoyu (soy sauce) yakitori, loved for its sweetness, toasty aroma, and slight bitterness, is said to be a crowd favorite.

Using a unique high heat grilling method, the outside gets a nicely browned coating. The most popular item is the seseri (neck meat), and the bonjiri (tail meat), with its plump bite, is popular as well.

They also offer a full selection of courses where you can enjoy shoyu yakitori (soy sauce grilled chicken skewers), as well as luxurious courses with All you can drink.

You can also order their carefully prepared dishes that pair well with drinks as A la carte. The "Domestic Wagyu sukiyaki nabe (sukiyaki hot pot)" is popular for its rich seasoning and melt-in-your-mouth meat.

りおろぐ

The specialty here is [shoyu yakitori (soy sauce-grilled chicken)] made using only “sweet soy sauce from Kyushu.” It was excellent, with a nice char on the outside and a plump, juicy texture inside, and the more I chewed, the more the savory flavor and sweetness spread✨I was impressed by the careful grilling of everything: the springy texture of the seseri (neck meat), the rich fatty flavor of the bonjiri (tail), the satisfying bite of the zuri (gizzard), and the soft, airy feel of the tsukune (chicken meatball).

関西グルメ記録

For yakitori, I had seseri (neck meat), bonjiri (tail), and zuri (gizzard), and all of them were nicely charred, juicy, and so good! And the shiitake (shiitake mushroom)!! This is one item you absolutely have to try✨It was incredibly big, thick, and super juicy, and the shiitake flavor was unreal…(*´ω`*)It had hardly any distinctive flavor, to the point that even people who do not usually like shiitake might be able to enjoy it

Cha-mi Semba

Chaaji Senba is a yakitori restaurant about a 3-minute walk from Hommachi Station on (Each) line, and also within walking distance of Shinsaibashi Station. Set in a renovated old kominka (traditional Japanese house) in Minamisenba, it has a lot of character.

The first floor is a lively space centered around counter seating, while the second floor has well-spaced seats where you can enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace.

The signature item is the "Bijinzuma jidori (local chicken) Momo Sumibiyaki (charcoal grilled thigh)," a representative Miyazaki jidori (local chicken) dish. The mature red chicken is known for its pleasantly firm bite.

The meat is grilled to perfection, and each bite fills your mouth with rich, concentrated flavor. The restaurant's style is to enjoy it with a touch of yuzu kosho (yuzu pepper paste) for a fresh, spicy kick.

The yakitori made with Miyazaki jidori (Miyazaki local chicken) is also well liked. You can order a kushiyaki assortment or get skewers one by one.

If it’s your first time or you can’t decide what to order, the "Superb! Tsuma Jidori Full Course" comes recommended. It lets you fully enjoy the restaurant’s popular dishes, including yakitori and charcoal grilled items.

♡nikochan♡

I was craving some good yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), so I searched around and came here! The restaurant had a very relaxing and clean atmosphere✨The first floor has counter and table seating. The second floor has table seating and can apparently be reserved for a private party☺This time there were two of us, so we sat at the counter on the first floor. We made a reservation before coming in! Reservations are highly recommended!!It gets very busy even on weekdays☺

ともあさ01

Everything I ate was delicious, but the restaurant’s specialties, jidori (local chicken) charcoal grilled thigh and oyako-don (chicken and egg rice bowl), were especially amazing! The jidori really is that good!! The more you chew, the more flavor comes out, and the nice smoky aroma from the charcoal keeps you reaching for more. The oyako-don is piping hot with a soft, creamy texture! It is one of those dishes you know will be good before you even take a bite! The chicken is tender too, and it goes perfectly with the rich, runny egg.

にこちゃん1012

I had heard from an acquaintance before that there was a good yakitori restaurant, so when my sister said she wanted to eat yakitori this time, I made a reservation‼︎I reserved just the seats, and instead of ordering a course meal, we ordered à la carte, but the oden (Japanese hot pot items simmered in broth) was also well seasoned and tasty♪I love liver, so I ordered the yakitori liver, and it was so good that I ended up ordering it again.

ayu777

The oden (Japanese hot pot items) is easy to enjoy with its gentle, fragrant dashi broth, while the tare grilled yakitori comes in with a rich, bold seasoning. After melting over the super fresh aburi liver, I was blown away by the tsukune rice❤️I personally got really hooked on this contrast of flavors. And To finish, I felt nice and warm with the special chicken soup, whose jidori (free-range chicken) broth was just too good. I was full and totally Manzoku

"Sekai no Tsukune (World Tsukune)" is the signature menu item, carefully kneaded with a unique blend using freshly butchered chicken.

It is simply grilled with just salt, so you can taste the full flavor of the chicken directly.

コココニー☺︎

In the hot season, a draft beer at Iwaidori always crosses my mind... Ice-cold draft is the best, but the tsukune (chicken meatball skewers) is so good it even gets called the “World’s Tsukune”? It has just the right amount of salt, juicy fat, and crunchy cartilage with a really nice bite. And then you throw back a draft with it. Ah, so good. It was a great meal☺︎

Of course the skewers were great, but the menu was also full of tasty options like grilled chicken dishes. The ebi (shrimp) ajillo came with the heads on, packed with rich shrimp tomalley, and was delicious. The staff were cheerful and welcoming, the drinks came quickly, and I definitely want to stop by again whenever I go to Osaka.

The Omakase skewers come in four kinds: sasami (chicken tenderloin), liver, harami (skirt meat), and dakimi (meat from around the wing). They are seasoned a bit heavily with salt, but grilled really well. The Teppan-yaki tsukune (chicken meatball) is the house specialty for a reason, and it is juicy. The egg and Parmesan cheese give it a rich taste. To finish, there is tori dashi soba (soba in chicken broth). It is perfect after drinking and feels comforting.

What impressed me first was the "Specialty!! Teppan-yaki tsukune (chicken meatballs)." It came on a piping hot iron plate with the sauce bubbling away, and they shaved aged Parmesan cheese over it right in front of us. The teriyaki-based sauce, lightly charred on the Teppan-yaki plate, and the melted cheese clung to the tsukune, and it was so tasty that even the aroma alone made the drinks go down easy.

I visited again for the first time in a while. Just like last time, I think the wide variety of à la carte dishes is great. I thought not only chicken, but also beef, bacon, and vegetables carefully selected by production region all tasted good when grilled over charcoal. I think this restaurant really shows the staff's strong attention to detail. The restaurant is on the second floor of a building, so you cannot see inside from outside, but I think it feels very clean and neat.

This is a great place for yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) with plum flavor. The plum was not too sour and had a light, refreshing taste that made it easy to eat, and even I, who do not usually like plum flavor that much, enjoyed it. They also have regular yakitori besides the plum flavored kind. There are menu items other than yakitori as well, giving it an izakaya (Japanese pub) feel that makes it easy to visit. There are also terrace seats outside, and in seasons with nice weather, the terrace is also ◎

The potato salad, liver, and tsukune (chicken meatball skewers) were all so, so good⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎I had never tried plum sauce anywhere else before, and it was so refreshing, so choosing the yakitori Rice bowl with plum sauce was absolutely the right call◎The staff were kind too, which was nice♪♪It was a place I’d love to visit again when I come to Osaka!!!

Sumibi Yakitori Kuwadori Shinsaibashi Ten

Sumibiyaki Tori Kuwadori Shinsaibashi Ten is a charcoal grilled yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) restaurant about a 4-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, and its spacious casual interior is popular with a wide range of diners.

At the Sunken kotatsu seating, you can also grill your own yakitori. Each table is also equipped with a table hood, so you can relax without worrying about any cooking smells.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), made with freshly processed chicken and Daisen Jidori, is carefully skewered one by one.

Because they use fresh chicken, it has a plump and juicy taste. In the colder season, they also offer a wide range of dishes including Hyuga-dori nabe (Hyuga chicken Hot Pot).

The "2-hour course with All you can drink" lets you fully enjoy jidori (local chicken) and includes 6 dishes in total. With 2 kinds of Appetizers, salad, aburi-yaki (flame-seared grill), and more, it sounds exciting all the way to the end.

The A la carte All you can drink menu includes mega mugs of whiskey, shochu (Japanese distilled spirit), and wine, and some say it made for a fun memory.

All the dishes came in large portions, and I was satisfied with the taste, the volume, and how quickly the food and drinks were served. This time we went as a party of two, so we could not order many dishes, so next time I would like to visit with 3 or 4 people. It was also nice that we could order the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) one by one from 1 skewer each.

Because it was seasoned with salt, it was easy to eat, and we ordered a few more items in addition to what is shown in the photo. At the table, you can grill the yakitori yourself, and (Each) table has an exhaust hood above it like at a Yakiniku restaurant. Even though it is a yakitori restaurant, it is not filled with smoke, and the interior is clean, with koagari (raised tatami seating), creating a comfortable space.

Torikizoku Minamisemba Ten

Torikizoku Minamisenba Ten is a yakitori restaurant just a short walk straight north along Shinsaibashisuji from Shinsaibashi Station on the Subway Midosuji Line. It is a popular chain with locations across Japan.

The casual and relaxing interior is popular with a wide range of customers.

The signature momo kizoku-yaki (grilled chicken thigh skewer) comes in three choices: sauce, salt, or spice. It is a standout dish that represents Torikizoku, letting you enjoy a perfect harmony with green onion.

The spice flavor is said to have a herb-forward spicy taste that brings out the good flavor of the chicken thigh.

The popular party plan "Toriki Bansankai" includes All you can eat and All you can drink from the full menu for 2 hours.

The classic To finish dish, "tori kama-meshi (chicken pot rice)," is cooked with a secret chicken bone broth. You can fully enjoy the rich flavor of chicken soaked into every single grain.

Torikizoku is an izakaya chain where you can enjoy tasty yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) at reasonable prices. Every item is offered at the same price, which makes ordering easy, and the menu is wide-ranging. The especially popular momo kizokuyaki has great volume, is juicy, and feels very satisfying. The atmosphere at the restaurant is casual and comfortable, which makes it an appealing place to stop by with friends or coworkers.

I was so glad it stayed open until lateーーeverywhere around it had already closed, and this was the only place I found that was open until morning? It was great that we could get in, since the place was lively even though it was close to 24時. Everything was JPY390?! I was shocked!! So cheapーIt was just right for having a quick drink too.
