The retro kissaten (Japanese-style coffee shop) interior had soft, cushy chairs, and the space was quiet and comfortable. I ordered a toast sandwich with ham and other fillings. The well toasted bread was soaked with butter, making it juicy and delicious, and it was satisfyingly filling.

The tableware and the interior both had a retro feel and were really lovely! After a lot of thought about what to get, I ordered pudding and tea au lait today. The milk foam on top of the tea au lait was smooth, and the sweetness was just right, while the pudding was a classic firm style and very good✨

The old-school firm pudding had that Homemade feel, and it fondly reminded me of the pudding my mother used to make when I was a child. Just like the exterior suggests, the retro atmosphere is lovely. Even the coffee came in a beautiful cup and saucer that felt far too elegant for a lunch set, which made me feel so happy.

I visited Narushima, a retro parlor I had been curious about for a long time, with a friend. Since it’s a parlor, we of course went for the purin a la mode (pudding à la mode) and chocolate parfait. The customer at the next table had Napolitan (Japanese ketchup pasta)!

I visited for dessert after lunch. From the nostalgic doma (earthen floor entrance), you take off your shoes and head to the seating area. I had the dessert assortment and coffee. Every item was a dessert that let the quality of the ingredients shine through. It was a blissful time enjoying a little of each good thing.

I visited a trendy kominka-style (traditional Japanese house style) cafe. The food here is carefully prepared, and everything tastes great. I had the kamo-negi soba (soba with duck and green onion). I also got to try one piece of oroshi katsu (cutlet with grated daikon) and one piece of Kara-age with tartar sauce shared with me. Both were delicious. The oroshi katsu was especially outstanding, and the tartar sauce was excellent too.

The Kohikan Blend, hand-dripped cup by cup, had mild acidity and bitterness with a clean finish. It was good. Ah, this really felt like a blend. The hot dog came with a mini salad too, and I enjoyed it.
