I was Surprising at how good every dish was, and I was really impressed! Today’s pasta was meat sauce pasta, and the flavor was something you just can’t make at home. The Omurice had soft and creamy eggs with a rich sauce! The meat in the sauce was also meltingly tender and excellent!

In an area where soba and washoku (Japanese cuisine) are common, this is a rare yoshoku (Japanese-style Western food) restaurant. I had the lunch set with a half-and-half of Kara-age and ginger pork. It was filling, tasty, and the kind of place that makes you feel at home.

・Omurice
The ketchup rice also had a slight fried rice feel to it, making this Omurice feel a bit like Japanese-Chinese food as well, and it was delicious.

チャンおつ

It feels like a casual diner that has the support of the locals. There are probably plenty of places with better food and service than here, but this place has an atmosphere and vibe you can only experience here, and that is what makes it good.

シルクボール

I ordered the tanmen (noodle soup topped with stir-fried vegetables) and a draft beer. The noodles seemed to be house-made, and they were thin, straight noodles. They get soft easily, but they go down smoothly and pair well with the soup. The soup had a very gentle flavor. It was not too salty, and it was mellow. It had plenty of vegetables in it, and their flavor had fully melted into the broth. It really sinks into your body.

This is my favorite Omurice restaurant. No matter what you order, you really can’t go wrong, and lunch comes with a salad and drink for about 1000円. The portions are very filling too. There are lots of different kinds, so you won’t get tired of it.

・Omurice
The omelet is soft and light. When you cut into it with a spoon, the egg is soft-cooked and creamy. Rather than having the omelet placed on top of the chicken rice, the chicken rice is wrapped inside the omelet.

I was in the mood for something a little hearty, so I ordered the katsu curry for JPY1150. The meat is on the thin side, but the cutlet covering the rice makes quite an impression. The super crispy katsu is so good! The curry seems to have flour in it, giving it a slightly grainy, old school Showa-era feel. It is rich and mellow, and goes really well with the punchy katsu.

生肉ちゃん

This Omurice takes the best of both styles, sitting right between a classic Omurice and a soft, creamy Omurice. I’d also like to try the katsu curry on another day.

The interior was quite spacious, and the large windows gave it an open feel. Maybe it was because of the atmosphere of the place, but the Omurice tasted even better than the one I usually have in my neighborhood.

The signature demi-glace sauce has a light tang and a flavor that keeps you coming back for more until the last bite. The Omurice is more filling than it looks, but the combination of soft, fluffy egg and rich sauce is so good that I finished it before I knew it.
