The signature dish is the Tokachi-gyu (Tokachi beef) filet steak. The lean meat of this brand Wagyu, Tokachi-gyu, is known for its fine texture and just the right amount of juiciness.
It is cooked to an ideal doneness, and they recommend enjoying it simply with salt, wasabi, or ponzu sauce.

Among the à la carte dishes, the Kitaakari no Jaga Butter is also popular. The fluffy textured potato comes with ika no shiokara (salted squid) on the side.
This dish lets you enjoy a rich, indulgent mix of the sweetness of Kitaakari, the richness of the butter, and the salty taste of the shiokara.
Every dish and all the sashimi (raw fish) were very good. I was especially impressed by how good the uni (sea urchin) and the steak were. The staff were also very friendly, and I would like to visit again the next time I come to Obihiro. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice, so I recommend it.

The flavors were great across the board, but the milk tempura stood out and tasted almost like a dessert. You eat it with honey and salt. The Kara-age was also well seasoned and crispy. I felt it was among the best izakaya Kara-age.

Its simple flavor lets the quality of the ingredient shine, and reviews also rate this dish highly.
市川のにしやん
It was my first time trying komai (Japanese saffron cod) ichiyaboshi (overnight dried fish). It felt like a very Hokkaido-style dish, with a nice amount of fat and great flavor. As an extra order, I heard from the customer sitting next to me at the counter that it was in season, so I ordered madachi (cod milt) tempura. It was light and creamy with no off notes at all, and it was very good. The tempura batter was thin, and it was fried really well.

The hokke (Okhotsk atka mackerel) served as today's grilled dish had tender flesh, rich fat, and great umami. Though simply prepared, it really brought out the quality of the ingredient. Also, the ebi shioyaki (salt-grilled shrimp) used large shrimp, letting us enjoy their plump texture and full shrimp flavor.

One big draw is that you can enjoy a full range of Hokkaido specialties. In particular, the fresh oysters shipped directly from Akkeshi, one of Japan's leading oyster production regions, are said to be a must-try.
You can choose to have them grilled or steamed, and they are said to be very satisfying thanks to their large size and rich umami.

The photo shows the bread and maple butter served as an otoshi (small appetizer), made with Hokkaido wheat. The plate shaped like Hokkaido is also striking, and this is one popular item.
The soft, fluffy bread with the aroma of wheat goes very well with the richly sweet butter, they say.

The appetizer that came out was hotel bread served with maple butter on top. The aroma of the wheat went really well with the maple butter. I asked the staff for their recommendation and ordered Tokachi Kawanishi-san nagaimo age (fried Japanese yam from Tokachi Kawanishi). This fried nagaimo, a Tokachi brand product, is one of the restaurant’s specialties. It had a nice toasty flavor and a pleasantly chewy texture. The Isshin Salad was colorful and looked very nutritious.

And the hotate (scallop) miso soup is also excellent. Needless to say, the aburi nikuzushi (seared meat sushi) is amazing, and the tsubugai (whelk) butter yaki (butter-grilled whelk) was incredibly good with its crunchy texture × butter sauce! And the sweet corn tempura, plus the thin fried potatoes covered with lots of cheese, were also absolutely delicious!!

The meat dishes are Tokachi Wakaushi Beef Tongue seared over the flame and Tokachi Wakaushi Hanging tender skewers with yama-wasabi (Japanese horseradish). The Beef Tongue has a pleasantly firm texture and the clean richness of the fat. The Hanging tender is tender, and the fragrant yama-wasabi goes very well with it. For dinner on a business trip to Obihiro, this is the one for this time of year! So I went to Sumiyaki Umeshubo Uguisu, right in front of the hotel, looking for seasonal asparagus. The house made himono (dried fish), carefully prepared in house, is also a popular item. It is finished to bring out the fish's full umami, and you can enjoy rich, flaky flesh with plenty of fat.
The flavor deepens with each bite, and it also pairs well with local sake.
クンノイヤー
The chicken is carefully grilled over charcoal, with a great balance of smoky aroma and juiciness. In particular, the Shintoku jidori (local chicken) liver is very fresh, rich yet low in off notes, and the moment it hits your mouth, its springy texture and savory flavor spread across your palate. It is served in a hot stone bowl, which is also nice because you can enjoy it piping hot and fragrant to the very end.

The atmosphere of the restaurant had a retro Showa-era feel and felt somehow nostalgic! The menu centers on chicken dishes, and everything was good. うららのごはん
No matter what you order, the food here is reliably delicious. The lineup includes dishes that go great with drinks, such as sashimi, shrimp with mayo sauce, and grilled squid legs. As expected, yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is the main draw here. We had an assortment of negima (chicken and scallion skewer), chicken skin, and thigh, and kicked things off with beer.
