Yakitori Miyagawa Toyosu Ten

Yakitori Miyagawa Toyosu Ten is about a 2-minute walk from Toyosu Station on the Tokyo Metro, and is a sister restaurant of a yakitori restaurant founded in 1949 in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. Along with yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), it offers a full lineup of izakaya dishes that pair perfectly with drinks.

The restaurant has a wide variety of seating, including counter seats and zashiki (tatami seating), and it also has a Private room available for groups of 8 or more.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), available in a wide range of cuts, focuses on freshness, and instead of limiting the production region of the chickens they source, they Special select high quality branded chickens from around Japan.

The yakitori, grilled over charcoal made by combining Tosa binchotan (high grade charcoal from Tosa) and Kishu binchotan (high grade charcoal from Kishu), is best enjoyed with special seasonings such as "Baisen Kuro Hachimi" and "Kanjuku Aka Sansho".

They also offer a wide range of à la carte dishes beyond yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), including Cold Appetizers, fried dishes, and meat dishes. They also have a lineup of fresh vegetable dishes delivered every morning from Yokoshibahikari, Sambu District, Chiba Prefecture.

They also serve Japanese sake that you can only drink at this restaurant, created in collaboration with a long-established kuramoto (sake brewery), so it is something you will want to enjoy with the food.

まんぷくたかし

The "white" Kara-age was juicy and tender, with a surprisingly light coating that gave it such a great balance I felt like I could keep eating piece after piece. It looked simple, but the flavor had soaked in well and it was excellent! The interior had a calm atmosphere, and the staff were polite and kind. Their explanations of the dishes were easy to understand, and I had a very pleasant time.

They also have rare cuts like sori (part of the chicken near the thigh), Aorta, and saezuri (esophagus), and since you can order one skewer at a time, it is great both for spending time just the way you like and for having a lively time with friends. Every dish is also perfect as an appetizer to go with drinks. This is the kind of yakitori place every neighborhood needs. Even the shredded green pepper salad is light and crisp, with a taste that makes you feel early summer is just around the corner.

Kushikado

Kushimon, in a great location just 1 minute from Toyosu Station, is a creative Chinese-style izakaya where you can casually enjoy a wide variety of kushiyaki (grilled skewers) and authentic Chinese food.

The spacious interior is fitted with wood-grain table seating and has a calm atmosphere. There are also fully private rooms, so you can use it for different occasions.

The menu centers on authentic Chinese food and kushiyaki (grilled skewers), with about 100 different options in total.

One nice thing about the kushiyaki, where you can adjust the spice level, is that you can enjoy a range of meats including beef, lamb, chicken, and pork. If you like seafood, the ebi-yaki (grilled shrimp) and ika-yaki (grilled squid) are also recommended.

The drink menu is also well stocked, with beers from around the world and Chinese liquors. They also offer individual Chinese dishes that pair well with drinks.

The photo shows the "Spicy Stir-Fried Clams." It is said to be a dish made with plenty of impressive clams, with the flavors of pakuchi (cilantro) and green onion adding a nice accent.

horiega

I had their specialty lamb skewers. The cumin aroma hit hard, and they were savory and juicy. It’s an irresistible flavor for spice lovers, and so good that this dish alone would keep you coming back. Besides that, the mapo tofu had a great balance of numbing heat and umami, and the stir-fried kongxincai (water spinach) had a crisp texture that made it impossible to stop eating.

Another draw is the wide selection of authentic Chinese drinks, which pair perfectly with the food. If you are not sure what to order, you can’t go wrong starting with the lamb short rib skewers (5-piece set) and beef short rib skewers (5-piece set). Both are juicy and fragrant, and before you know it, you will not be able to stop reaching for more.

They serve fresh fish prepared in many ways, including grilled and fried, and the sashimi is also popular for letting you enjoy the ingredients' natural flavor in a simple way.

If you visit, the one they say you absolutely have to try is their most popular dish, "gindara saikyo-yaki (Saikyo miso-marinated black cod)."

This recommended house specialty is marinated in homemade saikyo miso (Kyoto-style sweet white miso), and they say you can enjoy its rich flavor that pairs well with drinks.

spiral_8888

I visited Toyosu no Mise, known for its great maguro (tuna). In addition to sashimi, they had a full lineup of seafood and other seasonal dishes. The maguro sashimi had a melt-in-your-mouth texture and tasted great. One after another, the dishes really brought out the feeling of autumn, and the drinks went down easy. They also had a wide selection of drinks, from Japanese sake to wine, making it a good place for autumn drinking.

We first ordered a funamori (boat-shaped sashimi assortment) and the saikyo-yaki (Kyoto-style miso-marinated grilled fish) they recommended. The sashimi was very fresh and unbelievably delicious. Personally, the shrimp in particular melted in my mouth and tasted almost too good to believe. It went great with the Japanese sake. The saikyo-yaki was also very tasty, with fish that was nicely firm.

The pace of service is just right, and the staff’s friendly smiles make the experience pleasant. The interior is split between the first and second floors, with a Japanese style space throughout. On the second floor, dropping the noren (traditional fabric divider) creates a Semi-private room. The calm interior also makes it well suited for parties. The drinks paired well with the food and tasted great, so definitely give it a try!!

出不精夫婦

・Today’s kobore kaisen omusubi (overflowing seafood rice ball)
This rice ball comes packed with plenty of seafood piled into a masu (wooden sake box), making it fun to look at too. It comes with nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) broth and special soy sauce, so you can eat it like sashimi, wrap it in nori, or finish it ochazuke-style. We just drank the broth as it was, and it was salty, full of umami, and very good.

Mentaiko (spicy pollock roe) was perfect not only with rice but also as a snack to go with drinks. The popping texture and sharp heat really whet the appetite. I also enjoyed a variety of creative dishes made with mentaiko, which showed me how much depth it has. With yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and many other flavors to enjoy, I was able to fully enjoy a night in Hakata (Fukuoka’s Hakata district).

I went there at night. I stopped in without much thought, but every dish was delicious and it turned out to be a great choice. I ordered motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot), jidori (local chicken), and a salad. The appetizer, something like satsuma-age (deep-fried fish cake), was also nice. For the final dish, I went with zosui (rice porridge). The nicely salted soup of the motsu-nabe was excellent, and I felt like I could eat it forever.

It had been a while since I last went to a yakitori restaurant. I ordered skewers of momo (chicken thigh), bonjiri (chicken tail), chicken liver, chicken skin, and pork tongue tendon. Each one had a good balance of salt or tare sauce and felt just like what you want from a yakitori place. They were delicious. I also ordered snacks like quail eggs and takenoko (bamboo shoots), and those were nicely seasoned too. The food came quickly and the taste was good too. It’s a place I’d like to visit again.

First, we started with a draft beer. Since it was a Quick Drink for two, we ordered two dishes as snacks. We ordered dried saba (mackerel) and katsuo (bonito) sashimi. The katsuo sashimi came out first. I do not order sashimi that often at izakaya. The sashimi at this place is Nakanaka good. We had it with sliced garlic and soy sauce. It went very well with the beer too. Then came the dried saba. It was a large mackerel, and this was also Nakanaka good.

Hakata motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot) Yamaya Toyosu Ten

Hakata Motsu Nabe Yamaya Toyosu Ten is an izakaya in a great location just a 1-minute walk from Toyosu Station on the subway, serving mainly Kyushu cuisine and operating 36 restaurants nationwide. Their authentic Kyushu motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot) and mentaiko (spicy cod roe) dishes are popular.

The restaurant has a bright and calm atmosphere, with counter seats, table seating, and zashiki (tatami seating) available.

With a drink in hand, everyone can dig into Hakata motsu-nabe (Hakata offal Hot Pot) together. They generously use only fresh Domestic beef small intestines for the motsu.

The motsu has a nice bite and a bouncy texture, and when you put it in your mouth, its sweetness and rich flavor spread out. You can choose the Hot Pot broth from three options, including ago-dashi shoyu (flying fish stock soy sauce) and rich miso.

The mentaiko (spicy cod roe), made with great care and time, is slowly aged for a week to give it a mellow, rich flavor.

Each roe has plenty of umami, with a nice spicy kick and a bright aroma from the hidden touch of yuzu (Japanese citrus). It goes great with drinks, of course, and pairs perfectly with rice as well.

daihuku

It suddenly got cold, and I started craving Hot Pot. Yamaya is famous, but I had never been there before, so this was my first visit. The motsu (offal) was refined and very tasty. The yamaimo mentaiko (Japanese yam with pollock roe)? was milder than I expected, and I felt like I could eat endless amounts of it. The highball that goes well with motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot) was good too.

The otoshi (small appetizer) might have been mozuku (Okinawan seaweed); it was tasty. We had su-motsu (vinegared beef or pork offal), mentaiko chicken skin, and goma-saba (mackerel with sesame sauce). A little later, the gyoza arrived. Everything was good. As expected from a place with Hakata in its name. The beer went down easy.

Rather than going all in on sushi, I wanted to eat lots of seafood small plates, so I ordered a variety of things. The awabi (abalone) and oysters were small but rich and tasty. Lightly grilling the hotaru-ika (firefly squid) okizuke (soy-marinated) on the hot stone was really delicious. This goes great with Japanese sake! Three otoshi (small appetizer) dishes. For now, I ordered a black hoppy and hon-maguro (Pacific bluefin tuna) lean meat. Even the lean cut of the hon-maguro was incredibly good. This place has seats inside, but the area near the entrance has a tachinomi (standing bar) feel, which is nice.

I visited on a weekday night. The dining room was spacious and lively, but I still had a great time with my friends. They had a wide cocktail menu, so it was fun to choose. It was great value for money, and both the food and drinks were delicious.

Teketeke Toyosu IHI Building Ten

Teketeke Toyosu IHI Biru Ten is an izakaya with an appealingly wide lineup, from kushiyaki (grilled skewers) and small plates that pair well with drinks to full meal options.

The interior feels bright and spacious. It is said to be just the right kind of tavern for all sorts of gatherings.

They are particular about the heat and timing in their grilled dishes, and carefully grill each item so they do not miss the moment when it tastes best.

The photo shows one of the signature items, the "Shojiki Shio Tsukune (honest salt-seasoned chicken meatball)." It is grilled until plump and fragrant, and its simple style lets you really taste the difference.

They also have a great selection of drinks, and one you should definitely order when you visit is the "Jikasei Sour Teke Lemon (house-made sour Teke Lemon)."

It uses a house-made lemon syrup made by soaking lemon peels for 1 week. It has a fresh balance of tartness and sweetness, and is said to be loved by many customers.

ろぞん

The restaurant's signature tsukune (chicken meatball skewer) and shiro (pork intestine) were very good, and my family was completely Manzoku. The drinks, including the beer, were amazingly cheap, so we had plenty to drink. Maybe because it was Saturday, the place was not very crowded, and the food and drinks came quickly. We will definitely go again!

シュタインヘーガー

An izakaya (Japanese pub) dinner with the family. We had skewers, tofu salad, tonpei-yaki (savory pork omelet), and more. More than anything, the reliable taste and wallet-friendly prices, even including dessert, are what make this place great. I’m happy it’s somewhere we can use for everyday meals.

Pronto Toyosu Ten

Puronto Toyosu Ten is a two sided spot you can enjoy as a cafe by day and an izakaya (Japanese pub) by night. One of its best points is how easy it is to drop in when you're in the mood for a drink.

You can snack on classic dishes that have long been popular in Japan while enjoying all kinds of drinks, including beer and sour cocktails.

If you're visiting with a group of 4 or more, the course menus that come with food and All you can drink are recommended.

They offer the Nonbee Course, which includes 6 dishes that are perfect with drinks, and the Odo Course, which includes 7 of their most popular dishes.

They also offer a wide selection of a la carte dishes that are easy to order. From classic staples to more unusual picks, they have a wide range of food.

Along with the cute-looking tako-san wiener (octopus-shaped sausage), they also serve filling items like pizza and Neapolitan spaghetti.

You just got off work and want to grab just a little drink! Where should you go? Maybe head to Pronto? So, it's Pronto Kissa Sakaba! Or Kissa Kaba for short! I already know what to order! 20 octopus-cut sausages and a Mega Kaku Highball! With just this set, you don't need anything else!! Have a quick drink and head home pleasantly buzzed!

・Nonbee Course
All 6 food dishes were tasty, and with All you can drink included, it was quite good. It is directly connected to the station, the staff were pleasant, and the seating was fairly spacious, so I had a great time!

Kuimonoya Wan Toyosu IHI Biru

Kuimonoya Wan Toyosu IHI Biru is an izakaya where you can enjoy creative dishes based on Japanese cuisine with an extra touch.

The interior, designed with the image of a kominka (traditional old Japanese house) from 100 years ago, features decor unified in calm tones. There are also Private rooms with Sunken kotatsu seating for groups of 2 to 52 people, so you can enjoy your meal and drinks without worrying about the people around you.

They offer a full lineup of a la carte dishes that pair well with drinks, including sashimi, kushiyaki (grilled skewers), and other small plates. The super fresh sashimi assortment also seems to be a popular pick.

The Hot Pot is perfect for cold winter days, and one nice point is that you can order it from just one serving. You can choose from several kinds, including the "Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu) tororo (grated yam) Hot Pot" and "Domestic beef motsu-nabe (offal hot pot)."

You will also want to try the restaurant's own creative Japanese dishes, such as the "Otafuku Omelet" and the "Big daikon radish oden."

The "Handmade Melty Cheese Tsukune," a tsukune dish with Cartilage where each piece is carefully wrapped around cheese one by one, is the most popular item on the menu.

ラーメンあきおくん

There are many Private rooms, so you can relax and enjoy your drinks without worrying about the people around you. It’s nice that the otoshi (small appetizer) is a salad. The beer is served in ceramic cups. In ceramic, the foam is finer and feels smoother on the palate. And it’s served nice and cold, so it tastes great!

Everyone was hungry, so we mainly ordered dishes! The aburi-yaki (seared grill) of ebi-shinjo (shrimp fish cake) with mochi was especially great! The texture of the mochi was really nice, and it was a filling dish with plenty of volume! Kuimonoya Wan seems to have restaurants all over Japan, so I’d like to try a different restaurant next time!
