Located on the 2nd floor of Barbizon88, TORI TOKYO EBISU is a restaurant centered on sumibiyaki (charcoal-grilled) yakitori. It is about a 4-minute walk from Ebisu Station.
The interior is modern and refined, almost like a bar. Away from the bustle of the city, you can enjoy dinner in a relaxed mood.
Photograph:MiK.
For the main yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), they use different branded chickens depending on the item.
The “Omakase course” includes a total of 11 items, including skewers and their signature smoked potatoes. The sasami (chicken tender) is said to be moist and tender, with the clean heat of wasabi adding a nice accent.
Photograph:レイニー・ホワイト
A la carte dish that adds color to the course: “Shunkan Kunsei no Potato Salad (Instant Smoked Potato Salad).”
This grown-up style potato salad has a smoky aroma and rich anchovy umami, and they say it is so good you will get hooked after just one bite. It is served in a chawanmushi (savory egg custard) cup, and the presentation is popular because smoke spreads out when you open the lid.

・Omakase course
Each yakitori skewer was really big, filling, and delicious❤︎The Omakase came with 8 kinds of skewers, and I ended up way more Manpuku than I expected (lol) Of course the skewers were great, but the potato salad was Surprisingly good,, The counter had a very nice atmosphere, so it seems like a good spot for all kinds of occasions.

The lively interior has 90 seats in total, with counter and table seating. There are also Private room options available for parties of 2 or more, making it convenient whether you visit alone or with a group.
The hinai jidori (Hinai chicken) served as yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is said to stand out for its firm, springy red meat and fat with a touch of sweetness, with more umami coming out the more you chew.
The "chicken thigh" is cooked over the perfect level of heat, with crisp, fragrant skin and moist, tender meat.

The "tegone tsukune (hand-kneaded chicken meatball)" has a nice light char and a fragrant aroma.
When mixed with the egg yolk served alongside it and the sweet-savory sauce, the good flavor of the chicken stands out, and it is said to be so tasty that you will want another order. It is more filling than it looks and is said to be perfect as a snack with drinks.

This restaurant serves kushiyaki (grilled skewers) made with Hinai jidori (Akita free-range chicken) from Akita Prefecture, along with Akita cuisine. Every skewer was plump and juicy, and I was very Manzoku. They also have a wide selection of drinks, including original beers and sours. The staff's hospitality was wonderful too.

They also had a wide selection of drinks, including a nice lineup of well-known Japanese sake labels. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was plump and tasty, and we had a great time. I’d definitely like to come back when I have a business dinner in Ebisu. The first floor had counter and table seating, which was also clean and seemed good for a more casual gathering.

There are two types of "Yakishi Omakase," with 5 kinds and 7 kinds. Along with the standard cuts, rare cuts may also appear. The "negima" is said to be delicious, with the meat's savory flavor and the sweetness of the green onion matching well thanks to the perfect grilling.

The "Hinai jidori (Hinai free-range chicken) mizutaki (chicken hotpot)," available to order from two servings, is a popular menu item you can enjoy all year round.
The rich soup, simmered for over 12 hours, pairs perfectly with the springy chicken and is said to be excellent. The "Hinai jidori yakuzen mizutaki," made with herbal medicinal ingredients, is also recommended.

I had Hinai jidori (Hinai chicken) in Ebisu(^^)I had yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), and then mizutaki (chicken hot pot)! Since it was winter, I had a Hot Pot. Hinai jidori has such a nice bite〜really good! The zosui (rice porridge) at the end was tasty too!

The chef’s subtle attentiveness was wonderful, and the munekawa (skin from the breast) was incredibly delicious! I don’t usually eat skin, but the grilling and the quality fat made every bite a joy. I’ll definitely be back.

At Bishindori in Ebisu, the mizutaki (chicken hotpot) was more creamy than I imagined, and it was Surprising. The course where you can enjoy the specialty kamo seri-nabe (duck and Japanese parsley Hot Pot) is also popular.
The fresh aroma of seri and the amazingly tender duck are said to be a perfect match. The gently flavored broth, so good you'll want to drink it to the last drop, brings out the best in the ingredients.
umiumi37
I went there for the seri-nabe (Japanese parsley Hot Pot), but first the various chicken cuts grilled over charcoal right in front of me were excellent. The seri-nabe I came for was surprising at first sight! The roots were really, really long. Even so, it didn't taste rough at all, and had a nice aroma and a firm bite, which made it great. The broth was also refined and full of the aroma of duck meat.

Charcoal grilled yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) enjoyed with a house made tare (sweet soy based sauce) that has been added to over time is hugely popular!
The "chochin (grilled chicken ovarian follicles and oviduct)" coated well in the tare is said to have an excellent balance between the rich yolk that pops in your mouth and the crisp texture of the oviduct. Some people apparently order it every time they visit.
The side menu is also full of options, including "smoked sasami (chicken tenderloin)" and "dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelet)".
Among them, the "young chicken Kara-age" marinated in Rian's special sauce is perfect as a snack with drinks! It is fried up crisp and fragrant, and when you take a bite, juicy flavor fills your mouth.

After all, the kushiyaki (grilled skewers) is the best thing at this place, and because they grill it over charcoal, it has a really nice savory aroma. The liver is especially the best. The "sasami wasabi skewer" made with expertly grilled chicken tenderloin is said to be delicious, with a fragrant surface and a tender, juicy inside.
The fresh heat of wasabi is said to bring out the flavor of the mild sasami (chicken tenderloin). Reviews also say it tastes so good that you never get tired of it no matter how many you eat.

The signature “churippu Kara-age” is a popular dish that keeps people coming back.
In addition to the standard simple soy sauce seasoning, it also comes in two other flavors: salt garlic and black pepper. Many people choose different flavors and enjoy comparing them.

This is a casual izakaya (Japanese pub) about a 5-minute walk from the East Exit of Ebisu Station. The otoshi (small appetizer) of chikuzen-ni (simmered chicken and vegetables) had a gentle, comforting flavor. For their specialty tulip Kara-age, we chose the plain and pepper seasonings from the available options. It was tender and tasty! The menu had a well-balanced lineup of meat, fish, and small plates.

We had the course meal. The lineup really hit the mark for drink lovers, and the drinks went down at just the right pace❗The order and timing of the dishes were also good. The kushiyaki (grilled skewers) and tulip Kara-age in particular were served piping hot and tasted great. The drinks also came quickly, so we had a fun time.

Ebisu kuruma is a chicken specialty restaurant built around the concept of “yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) × wine = a hideaway for adults.”

At dinner, they offer four different courses and à la carte dishes.
This is the "5 Kushiyaki Skewers + 2 Kinds of Grilled Vegetables" from the Omakase course. It is a luxurious menu that lets you enjoy five kinds of skewers made with rare Kagura-tori (premium chicken), which is not generally available on the market, all at once.

You can enjoy rare wines sourced through the exclusive routes of the restaurant's dedicated sommelier.
They have even offered Chateau Margaux and DECOY California wine, and one of the main draws is being able to enjoy the pairing of tasty yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and wine without any pretension.
I had the course meal, and the drinks and food were both really good. Time flew by, and I ended up staying a long time.

The food was also very good. In particular, the momo-yaki (grilled thigh) and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) were cooked just right. The sommelier carefully explained that they use a local jidori (free-range chicken) called Kagura Tori, which you can only eat at this restaurant. The meat had a flavor unlike anything I had tried before, and it made me realize yakitori could be this delicious. It was a first for me!

These are the limited-quantity “Outside skirt skewer” and “negima-kushi (chicken and scallion skewer),” both made with rare cuts.
The simple salt seasoning is said to bring out the natural flavor of the ingredients. Each piece of meat is large, juicy, and very satisfying to eat.

To finish, the popular "Takana (pickled mustard greens) and Jako (dried baby sardines) fried rice" is said to have a light texture and come out nicely separated, without being greasy.
The fragrant takana and jako are seasoned in a way that never gets old, making it hard to stop eating. It is also quite filling, so sharing it with 2~3 people is recommended.

Since it’s a little away from the station, this place feels like a hidden gem! The service is polite, and the food is cheap and tasty! The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and torimotsu (chicken giblets) are both great, and I recommend everything! Personally, I liked the shrimp spring rolls~! The cold noodles at the end are delicious too✨

The staff moved quickly and were very helpful, which was great. Our group size increased at the last minute, but they handled it pleasantly. Every dish was delicious. I’ll definitely visit again.

Hancho Ebisu Honkan is about a 2-minute walk from Ebisu Station and is a place where you can enjoy sumibiyaki (charcoal grilled) yakitori made with Nagoya Cochin.
The interior is a stylish Japanese modern space. There are counter seats and Private rooms with Sunken kotatsu seating, and it can accommodate groups from small to large.
The "segimo" in the photo refers to liver from the back side of Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya Cochin chicken). It has a plump, springy texture, and one bite fills your mouth with rich umami.
You can choose from two seasonings: tare sauce or salt.

This is the signature dish, Nagoya Cochin aburi sumibiyaki (charcoal-grilled seared Nagoya Cochin chicken).
The chicken is slowly grilled over charcoal, and its toasty aroma is said to whet the appetite and make it so tasty you could keep eating it forever. The firm, juicy texture unique to jidori (free-range chicken) is said to be irresistible.
YUCHAN64
A yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) specialist. Above all, the Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya Cochin chicken) aburi sumibiyaki (charcoal grilled seared chicken) was wonderfully fragrant and excellent. The house made tsukune (chicken meatballs), Yakitori Omakase, atsuage (deep fried tofu), and chicken sasami (chicken tenderloin) with avocado were all very tasty.

The otoshi (small appetizer) vegetable sticks were fresh and tasty too. All of the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was good as well. I wonder if they grill it over charcoal? It seems you normally can't get in without a reservation. It was a great meal

The yakitori at this restaurant is served in a style without skewers.
The popular "Mix Yaki" is an assortment of six different cuts, so you can enjoy the differences in flavor and texture.
Since it is not skewered, it is easy to eat, and reviews also say that you can enjoy the flavor of each cut more directly.

The tsukune (chicken meatball skewer), the only item you can enjoy with tare (sweet soy-based sauce), is said to have a nicely browned surface and a light, fluffy texture.
When you mix in the egg yolk served alongside it, it adds a mild richness that makes it so tasty you may finish it in no time.
At the counter facing the grill, you can enjoy charcoal grilled chicken, with the toasty aroma of the charcoal and the springy bite making a strong impression. The restaurant also offers a wide variety of chicken dishes, including the popular "Mix-yaki (mixed grill)" and "tori no tataki (lightly seared chicken)," for a highly satisfying meal.

・oyako-don (chicken and egg rice bowl)
To finish, this classic oyako-don brings together soft, silky eggs and the good flavor of chicken. The sweet-savory sauce goes perfectly with the rice, making it a comforting bowl you can easily finish even after drinks.
