Dominique Bouchet Kyoto Le Teppanyaki

Dominique Bouchet Kyoto Le Teppan-yaki is a hotel restaurant located inside The Westin Miyako Kyoto, right by Keage Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway.

This is the first Teppan-yaki restaurant by Dominique Bouchet, a leading figure in French cuisine, where you can enjoy brand-name beef from Japan and abroad.

The "Domestic beef Strip loin" served as part of the course is cooked to perfection, fragrant on the outside and moist on the inside.

It is said to have just the right amount of fat, letting you fully enjoy the juicy flavor of the beef. The flambé performance done right in front of you is also said to be worth watching.

For the rice dish at the end of the course, you can choose garlic rice for an extra charge, made with an original blend of rice from Hachidaime Gihei.

The large crispy scorched rice crusts, shaped one by one on the Teppan-yaki, are said to be nicely crisp and tasty.

The flambe performance right in front of you is also spectacular, and with a range of yakumi (condiments) like soy sauce, grated daikon with ponzu sauce, red wine and shallots, tomato sauce with kuro-shichimi (black seven-spice blend), salt, and black pepper, it was a great steak that let us enjoy the meat’s flavor to the fullest!

The Strip loin steak made with Tokushima Awa-gyu (Tokushima Awa beef) was especially excellent. The lunch menu also looks very good, so I’ll come back when I visit Kyoto and Arashiyama again.

It was simply good! The T-bone steak in particular made me go wow! It really felt like I had eaten meat, and I was Manzoku. The mashed potatoes on the side were smooth and just how I like them. The dessert cake was good too. The restaurant was lively and easy to talk in. There were a lot of people celebrating birthdays.

The steak lets the meat’s natural flavor come through directly, with moist, tender, melt-in-your-mouth Chateaubriand and Tenderloin that is very soft yet still gives you a real meaty texture. Both were tender and excellent.
