[Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture (Omiya Area)] Restaurants with Great Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers)
Photograph:Juliiiiiet
Yakitori Kara-age Highball Omiya Ten is a yakitori restaurant in one of the busiest entertainment areas in Saitama, just a 2-minute walk from Omiya Station.
At the counter, you can enjoy the sound of the charcoal fire and the lively feel of the grill area, while the second-floor seating has a more relaxed setup. It is close to the station and easy to stop by, making it a spot people use regularly.

The popular "Heart" is carefully skewered and cooked with just the right heat for a plump finish. The freshness you only get from whole chickens processed that morning really stands out, and the springy meat slowly releases its rich flavor.
The moderate saltiness keeps you coming back for more, and many people say it goes well with a highball.
Photograph:daisu752
The "Jikasei Atatakai Potato Salad (house-made warm potato salad)" is popular for its unique serving style, where you mash the boiled egg to your preferred texture.
The fluffy potatoes blend well with the egg and mayo, giving it a kind of homey warmth that people love. Though simple, it is said to be a dish with a great balance of texture and flavor.
rin10699
All of the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was delicious, but the Heart and chochin (chicken ova and immature egg yolks) were especially great. I think this is a rare place where you can eat chochin. The Kara-age was made with chicken breast and had a light taste, so it was easy to keep eating. It also seemed to be fried twice, so the coating was nice and crispy and very tasty.

From start to finish, it was all chicken, but the variety of dishes was so wide that I never got tired of it, and every single one was delicious(^_^)

Ore no Yakitori Omiya, a yakitori restaurant with a bright and lively atmosphere, is a 3-minute walk from the west exit of Omiya Station. The stylish interior has counter and table seating, and seats where you can watch the cooking are said to be especially popular.
With its clean and inviting space, it is well liked as a casual place to enjoy yakitori.

"Hobo Kisho Bui Tamashamo 5-hon Mori (Mostly Rare-Cut Tamashamo 5-Skewer Assortment)," which lets you fully enjoy Saitama’s branded jidori (local free-range chicken) Tamashamo, is said to be popular for its firm texture and strong umami.
You can enjoy the bounce and aroma of each cut, and the way the salt is used is said to be nicely balanced. Some also say that the changing assortment depending on availability is part of the fun of visiting.

"Ore no Maki-zushi (My Rolled Sushi)" is a luxurious dish generously topped with small ikura (salmon roe).
Layered with fillings like tuna and chicken, it is said to spread rich flavor with every bite. This popular original menu item shows the kind of creative idea you would expect from a yakitori restaurant.
おデブなみっちゃんNEW
The aroma of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) really gets your appetite going. Start with the classic negima (chicken and scallion skewer). The fragrant char from the charcoal, the juicy chicken, and the crisp scallions are hard to resist! Then come 5 skewers of rare cuts. The salt is just right, and they go great with drinks. My personal top pick is the nama-tsukune (fresh chicken meatball skewer)! It has a soft, fluffy texture, and the savory flavor spreads through your mouth.

Kicho, a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Omiya Station in Saitama’s downtown area, is a place where you can enjoy a yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) course made with Tanba Kurodori (Tanba black chicken).
The counter seating is wide and spacious, and the smoke ventilation is excellent, making it a comfortable space where you do not have to worry about smoke.
Photograph:PONCHAN27
Among the skewers served in the course, the seseri (chicken neck) stands out for its nice bite and juiciness.
The savory grill is very pleasing, and because they use fresh chicken, it has only mild distinctive flavor. The more you chew, the more flavor spreads, and it is also said to pair well with wine.
Photograph:RT009
The popular oyako-don (chicken and egg Rice bowl) to finish the meal is said to pair soft fluffy egg with plump chicken, with a gentle dashi flavor that lingers.
It has a satisfying taste and is loved as a final dish that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.
石氷
The meal is served as a yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) course. Each skewer is prepared with carefully judged grilling, seasoning, and even the lingering finish, with a level of delicacy that goes beyond the very idea of a “skewer.” In particular, the liver, cooked just right, and the tsukune (chicken meatball), with its umami that slowly spreads across the palate, were especially memorable. The small plates served along the way were also excellent, and they showed a depth that makes this feel like much more than just a simple yakitori restaurant.

I visited the yakitori restaurant Kitori in Omiya. The 5-skewer Yakitori Omakase had spot-on grilling on every skewer, and I was impressed by how fully it brought out the flavor of the ingredients. The toasty aroma and juicy bite were irresistible. And the mizutaki (chicken hot pot) had a rich chicken broth that really came through, making it as comforting as it was delicious. With this combination of yakitori and Hot Pot, I had a very Manzoku time.

Shindori, a yakitori restaurant specializing in yakitori and chicken dishes, is about a 5-minute walk from the East Exit of Omiya Station and sits on the 7th floor of a building with a nice atmosphere.
In an elegant Japanese-style space highlighted by a whitewood counter, guests can enjoy skewers of Special brand chicken and seasonal vegetables in a refined setting that also includes Private rooms.

The house specialty "Kagayaki Course" is a highly satisfying course centered on 7 skewers, along with sakizuke (small appetizer), soup, and dessert.
They carefully skewer jidori (local chicken) and branded chicken, and the grilling and seasoning with salt are said to be just right. Each skewer is beautifully finished, with a great taste that brings out the savory aroma and the good flavor of the chicken.
Photograph:pysjj
The popular hatsu (heart) stands out for its freshness and is said to have a nice springy texture and juicy bite.
The skewers are large and satisfying, and people say the careful grilling and just-right use of salt make them a great match for Japanese sake or beer.
もふもふお
Every course dish was delicious, and they also had a good selection of drinks that paired well with the food, so I was very Manzoku. I also felt they were full of thoughtful touches, like preparing chaser water from the start. I was surprised to find whiskies you do not often see and Dassai (a premium sake brand) highballs on the All you can drink menu.

You have to start with a course here, and you cannot start with A la carte. Today was midweek, so there was plenty of seating, and even though we were two people, they said a table was OK. We appreciated that and could relax. We finished the Appetizers and moved on to the main yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). The shirareba (white liver) was rich and creamy inside..! So good. The uwakawa (outer skin), kamo-hatsu (duck Heart), mekya-betsu (Brussels sprouts), and garlic...everything was delicious.

Just a 2-minute walk from Omiya Station, Saitama’s terminal hub, Kushijiro Omiya Ten is a restaurant where you can enjoy yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) in a Japanese-style Private room space spread out underground.
The calm interior has Private rooms for every seat, and the wide selection of skewers, including chicken, pork, and vegetables, is popular with guests who want to relax without worrying about the people around them.
Photograph:あも
The "7 Kinds of Yakitori" features the standard cuts, with careful use of salt and tare sauce that brings out the good flavor of each one.
The kawa (chicken skin) is crisp, and the negima (chicken and scallion skewer) is a satisfying plate where juicy meat and the sweetness of the scallion overlap. The fragrant aroma of charcoal grilling is part of the appeal as well.
Photograph:みみぱんちょ
The assorted vegetable skewers are a hearty assortment of tomato, eringi (king oyster mushroom), shishito (mild green pepper), and other vegetables wrapped in pork.
The tomato skewer in particular is said to be popular for its juicy taste, where the rich flavor of the fat combines with the acidity. It is lightly seasoned, which also makes it a good snack with drinks.
If you're going to an izakaya in Omiya (a district in Saitama), this is absolutely the place! The food is great and the drinks are great too! I keep thinking it's about time to try somewhere new, but I always end up coming back here. As the name Kushijiro suggests, the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is delicious! It's just right as a snack to go with drinks, but it's also good enough to come here for a full meal!

For the chicken wings, you can choose the spice level from sweet-spicy, medium spicy, or hot, and I ordered the medium spicy! They had a nice spicy kick and a flavor I could not stop eating. Since this place specializes in chicken dishes, I also wanted to try the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), so I ordered sunagimo (gizzard), negima (chicken and scallion), and seseri (neck meat) with salt. The pieces were big and satisfying, and everything was delicious✨

The yakitori was grilled to perfection, and the seasoning with salt was spot on too! No complaints at all. The volume of the bagna cauda and the variety of vegetables were seriously impressive, and it looked exciting too. The sauce was delicious as well! We finished by drinking chicken soup to warm our stomachs after the alcohol had cooled them down, and then called it a night. Recommended.

This restaurant is known for its great yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and smoked dishes, and the drinks on the All you can drink course also come in a wide lineup that gets me excited. I’m the type who likes to drink lots of different kinds, and this place always keeps things fun with highballs made with Kaku and Riku, plus Japanese sake like Suigei from Kochi.

I visited at night with a friend. I’ve been here a few times, and it’s still just as good... The smoked dishes and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) are both way too tasty. I also love the salad dressing!! My clothes end up smelling deliciously smoky lol, but I’ll definitely be back. Thank you very much!!

Every dish was delicious. The edamame was plump and snappy! The salted cabbage was steaming, which was Surprising. The warm salted cabbage was seriously excellent. The Kara-age was super crispy, and the potatoes were seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The yakitori was reliably good. The pieces are big, right? And best of all, they have a huge variety of drinks!!

I visited on a weekday evening because I got off work early. There were a few groups with reservations inside, and all the counter seats were open. As always, the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) was filling, tasty, and reasonably priced. The staff also brought a lively energy, so I enjoyed myself even though I was on my own.

The Homemade pudding is a popular dessert, known for its soft texture and gentle sweetness, and some say it is a must order.
It has a nice richness without feeling heavy, and is said to go down smoothly even after yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). It is described as a dish that gently wraps up the feeling of Manzoku after the meal.
ムクバード
It is a small restaurant, but it was full on a weekday night! Since they grill over charcoal, the meat had a nice smoky aroma and tasted really great. They also had grilled vegetables and more! They have a wide selection of Japanese sake, and the food is also good, so your drinks go down very easily. I think this is a restaurant you can use for any occasion!

I could feel the care and thought put into each menu item, from the grilling to the seasoning. The lemon sour also had just the right level of tartness and fizz, which paired very well with yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) (salt). I also really appreciated how kind and polite the staff were.

The kushiyaki (grilled skewers), such as sunagimo (gizzard), negima (chicken and scallion), and kawa (chicken skin), are popular for being cooked just right and tasting great across the board.
The liver in particular is said to show off its freshness in the way it is prepared, and many people say they want to order it again. The lineup of skewers is simple, but lets you fully enjoy the natural flavor of the ingredients.

The sashimi assortment uses fresh fish shipped directly from Toyosu and is a popular dish with thick cuts that feel satisfying to eat.
The flavor of the maguro (tuna) is said to be especially memorable, and sometimes rare fish such as itohikiaji (threadfin trevally) and ainame (greenling) are included. Everything is introduced as fresh and high in Manzoku.
にゃにゃげ
I visited because it was unusually fairly empty. The potato salad had amazing volume and impact. The chunky ham inside? made a great accent. And the crispy texture of the yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) skin was irresistible. It gets addictive. The staff also worked briskly, which made this a very pleasant place.

The concept is yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and sushi, but they offer a wide range of menu items! They also have an All you can drink menu, so it is a great choice when you want to drink a lot. The food is good across the board, and you really cannot go wrong with anything you order. Since sushi is one of their specialties, the sashimi assortment is especially recommended and very fresh! If you are not sure where to go around Tsuruse Station, this is a place worth trying at least once!

It is said to be a popular menu item, with rich flavor soaked in but no heaviness, and many people order it together with yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).

Draft beer and yakitori are the best combination. The yakitori was juicy and tasty. I ordered salmon from the seafood menu, and it was rich and fatty, which was also great. The pasta was al dente and good too. The restaurant had a calm atmosphere, and it is a place I would like to come back to whenever I want yakitori.

This izakaya (Japanese pub) is just steps from Shiki Station. It’s inside a sketchy-looking building, but the restaurant itself is not sketchy at all. The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is delicious, and the nikomi (stew) and atsuage (deep-fried tofu) are great value and tasty! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I like to have the sasami (chicken tenderloin) grilled rare! This is a reliable spot whether you’re dining alone, with a group, or stopping by for lunch!

The signature "Special kashira-kushi (grilled pork cheek skewer)" is a pork skewer made with meat from around the cheek, prepared in the Higashimatsuyama style with savory grilled meat and spicy miso.
The salty, rich flavor keeps you coming back for more, and people love how well it pairs with beer and local sake.

The house craft beer Yakiton Beer is popular for its crisp bitterness and aroma, which bring out the rich depth of the miso sauce and the good flavor of the fat.
It is an unpasteurized draft beer and is said to pair well with both yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and yakiton (grilled pork skewers).
fukumiminokodomo
It says yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), but in reality it’s grilled pork kashira (pork cheek). You eat it with spicy miso, in the Higashimatsuyama style. Compared with nearby Wakamatsuya, the miso here has a stronger kick. They also have local beer and Japanese sake made to pair with the yakitori, which makes it really interesting. There are also many menu items inspired by Saitama, so I’d recommend it to tourists too.
