Kamo Tokidoki Uma Jinbocho Honten is an izakaya about a 5-minute walk from Exit A5 of Jimbocho Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. The interior is equipped with a U-shaped counter, table seating, and Private room seating.
The specialties are kamo-shabu (duck shabu-shabu) and basashi (horse sashimi), and this hidden-away izakaya for adults is built around the concept of a healthy, energizing, great-drinks tavern.
Photograph:マブマブマブール
If you want to enjoy the signature menu item, the Kyo-gamo (Kyoto duck) Negiyaki and Duck Shabu Set is recommended.
This is a luxurious set that lets you enjoy the duck negiyaki first, then have broth for shabu-shabu poured in so you can enjoy the duck shabu-shabu.
Photograph:こうちゃんだお!
The "Iwate-gamo (Iwate duck) and basashi (horse sashimi)," served with remarkable freshness, is said to be so memorable that many people come back for it after trying it once.
They use Special ingredients that have made it through Tohoku's harsh seasons, and the richly flavored meat is also said to pair very well with Japanese sake.

Even at the counter, the spacious layout means you won’t worry about the person next to you. Every dish was good from start to finish! I especially loved the smoked duck and cheese Appetizers, and the moment they opened the lid right in front of me, including the aroma, was the best. Not only did everything taste great, but the colors and presentation were also beautiful, and the portions were just right, which made me happy that I could enjoy it all the way to the end.

Whatever Will Be, Will Be
First, the otoshi (small appetizer) is stylish. The smoke makes for such a nice touch. I forgot to take a photo, but they grilled kamo (duck) and green onion in a Hot Pot, then finished with soba noodles. The dashi broth was really amazing! It was delicious. We also had a 4-assortment of basashi (horse sashimi). The yakumi (condiments) let you change up the flavor nicely. Stylish and tasty, with good service too. I recommend it.

Taishu Baniku Sakaba Fujisan is a casual izakaya about a 2-minute walk from Suidobashi Station on the JR Sobu Line, and it is a popular restaurant with 6 horse meat specialty izakaya restaurants in Tokyo.
The two-story interior has a cozy space on the first floor with table and counter seating, while the second floor has Semi-private room seating in a raised tatami area.

One of the main draws here is that you can enjoy fresh horse meat and Yoshida udon.
The photo shows their "Signature Dish! Basashi Tataki (seared horse meat)," made with a cut from the horse thigh known for its rich meat flavor.
The restaurant's style is to enjoy it in a light, refreshing way with plenty of grated daikon radish and yakumi (condiments) ponzu sauce.
Photograph:ヒマジン。TOMO
In Tokyo, it is hard to find Yoshida udon, a Fujiyoshida specialty, but it is very popular here.
They serve house-made noodles delivered fresh every day, made with clear spring water from Fuji and a blend of four kinds of Special Domestic wheat, and they are known for their chewy texture and firm bite.
BLINK182
Head deeper into Suidobashi, and you’ll find this horse meat restaurant in an unexpected spot. It looks like it has been serving the area for a long time. It has the lively feel of a taishu sakaba (casual Japanese pub). I like it. Horse meat is good simmered. Good grilled. And delicious raw, too. It was also a nice surprise to discover unusual cuts served in unexpected ways. There are flavors you can only enjoy at an izakaya (Japanese pub), aren’t there.

I visited because I was craving horse meat for the first time in a while. Wow, I really enjoyed this full horse meat feast, and it was all very tasty. From fried dishes to basashi (horse sashimi), then tataki (lightly seared meat), and finishing with Yoshida no udon (Yoshida-style udon). The cold Yoshida no udon really brings out its firmness. Or rather, it is almost like thin wire lol. That is what makes it so good. The basashi also came with three slices each of different cuts, which made it fun to try. I would like to go again.

Maguro no Shimahara is an izakaya a roughly 4-minute walk from Exit A5 of Jimbocho Station on the Hanzomon Subway Line. In addition to table seating, it also has a raised tatami seating area, and the atmosphere makes it easy to visit for Banquets or with children.
The walls display a life-size illustration of tuna and a tuna fishing ground map showing the production regions, and some reviews say it is a place where you can fully enjoy tuna.
Photograph:skumi
They serve maguro (tuna) dishes that taste great whether grilled or simmered.
The Yakiniku-style "hon-maguro (bluefin tuna) akami (lean meat) butsu-giri (chunk cuts)" is popular, marinated in a slightly sweet sauce and grilled well until nicely browned. The restaurant's style is to quickly sear both sides and enjoy it with salt.
Photograph:ムロさん
The maguro (tuna) sushi assortment lets you enjoy a variety of cuts of tuna.
They also have a wide selection of drinks, including wine and local sake that pair well with maguro, as well as fruit sours with chunky fruit for a fun texture. If you're interested, be sure to check out the weekday-only All you can drink course as well.

I was able to spend a relaxing time in the calm Japanese modern interior. The assorted sashimi centered on their signature maguro (tuna) was fresh in every cut, with a melt-in-your-mouth taste the moment it hit the palate. What stood out most was the "toro-taku (fatty tuna with pickled daikon)." The rich chutoro and the texture of takuan were a perfect match, making it a dish I could have eaten over and over.

The freshly fried tempura had a light aroma of sesame oil? and was really crisp and delicious. The staff were also friendly and told us their recommendations, and we had a fun meal in the warm atmosphere. The ice cream tempura wrapped in mochi (rice cake) was the best.

I was looking for an izakaya in Jimbocho (Jimbocho) and decided to visit this place. It is a restaurant serving tempura and kushiage (deep-fried skewers), and the tempura comes out freshly fried. This time, we had a tempura assortment, a kushiage assortment, and a sashimi assortment. The tempura was super hot since it had just been fried, but it reminded me once again that freshly fried tempura is the best. The kushiage was also delicious...I was very Manzoku.

You can take your time and enjoy jidori (local chicken), yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), oden (Japanese hot pot dishes), and more in the spacious seating.
Photograph:Makorin
They serve Special jidori (local premium chicken) sourced from around Japan on a daily rotating basis. If you want to really enjoy jidori, the "charcoal-grilled jidori skewers" are recommended.
They simply grill flavorful thigh meat with salt, using varieties such as Hinaijidori (Akita local premium chicken) from Akita Prefecture and Nagoya Cochin (Nagoya chicken breed) from Aichi Prefecture.
The “oden (Japanese hot pot dish)” is finished in a broth carefully simmered from Hokkaido Hidaka kombu kelp and chicken bones.
The light yet rich flavor from the chicken stock is popular. Items like daikon radish, egg, and silken atsuage (deep-fried tofu) soak up the flavor, making this a warming dish.

I visited for the first time. The restaurant has the feel of a mysterious underground dining arcade, and I got a little lost on the way, but the interior is spacious and calm. The timing of when they brought out the dishes was great, so the drinks and conversation kept flowing! It’s close to my office, so I’d like to visit again.

This is an izakaya where you can enjoy Japanese food like yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), oden (Japanese stew), and fresh seafood in a calm atmosphere. This recommended 8-dish course packs in the restaurant’s Top 10 most popular menu items, and it also comes with 2 hours of All you can drink, making it a very full package. The recommended choice is sumibi yakitori (charcoal-grilled chicken skewers) made with Domestic Special chicken.
The kushiyaki (grilled skewers), carefully grilled one by one over high-grade binchotan (Japanese white charcoal), are said to be excellent. The yakitori is fragrant on the outside and plump and juicy inside, and some say that with every bite, you can really taste the full potential of the chicken.

Wild chicken dishes are also popular here, including "hone-tsuki momo spicy sanzoku-yaki (spicy grilled bone-in chicken thigh)" and "hina-dori no sansho aotogarashi-yaki (young chicken grilled with Japanese pepper and green chili peppers)".
The photo shows the "horo-dori," a dish of small bone-in chicken thighs simmered until so tender they fall apart so easily you can hardly pick them up with chopsticks.

The lineup is very appealing for beer lovers, and I enjoyed everything. A few of the dishes had green chili peppers in them and were spicier than I expected, but still very good. The carefully selected sushi lineup features many pieces chosen with care by the owner. They use akazu (red vinegar) for the shari (sushi rice), and each topping is carefully prepared and formed into nigiri one piece at a time.
The “Honjitsu-mon” is served as a single plate of that day’s recommendations. Some say the larger cuts of fish had a rich texture that seemed to melt in the mouth.

I loved the atmosphere, with table seating in a room that felt like a renovated kominka (traditional Japanese house). Since it was an oden restaurant, it was hard to choose, but starting with the assortment was absolutely the right call. The daikon radish was huge and full of flavor. The broth was delicious. Everything was great, starting with the tsukidashi (small appetizer) seared sushi. The kaki (oyster) and wakame (seaweed) butter-yaki (butter grill) was the kind you grill yourself, and that was wonderful too!

We had oden (Japanese stew), yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), sushi, and dashimaki (Japanese rolled omelet). Everything was very delicious, and even I got praised for choosing this place. When one pot packed tightly with six pieces of daikon radish was brought over, it caused quite a stir. The flavor had soaked in well, and it was very tasty. Next time, I’d like to try coming for lunch too.

Sushi no Wakusei Suidobashi is a sushi izakaya located just steps from Suidobashi Station on the JR Chuo Line, and it is a popular restaurant with its Honten in Musashi-Kosugi.
The interior has a simple design and includes table seating and sofa seating. It is also close to Tokyo Dome, making it perfect for a drink after a live show. There is also an A la carte All you can drink menu available.

They serve akazu (red vinegar) authentic sushi and tempura in a taishu sakaba (casual Japanese pub) style.
The photo shows the uniquely presented “uni choko ikura Rice bowl.” Ochoko is a small cup used for drinking Japanese sake. This dish comes with plenty of sea urchin and salmon roe served in the small cup, making it a pleasing dish.

For tempura, the recommended choice is the "tempura assortment," which lets you enjoy a variety of freshly fried pieces.
It includes plump shrimp, soft and flaky whiting, squid packed with flavor, and two kinds of seasonal vegetables. They finish it with a crisp, light batter.

The space is pleasantly lively yet calm, and you can feel the care put into the beautiful tableware as well. The staff are polite and kind, and their service clearly shows their love for the food. I was especially charmed by how passionately they talked about the daikon radish tempura. Their flexible service and comfortable sense of distance also left a strong impression, making the whole experience pleasant through to the end.

とびだせ!らいすくん!
The freshly fried tempura was crisp and light, bringing out the natural sweetness of the ingredients. Another highlight came in the form of “unique à la carte dishes,” including creative menu items you would only expect from a sushi restaurant, such as potato salad and sweet ohagi (sweet rice balls) made into tempura. They had a playful touch that naturally brought a smile to your face, and the more you ate, the more the good taste and fun grew.

Yakiton Sankichi Suidobashi Ten is an izakaya (Japanese pub) about a 2-minute walk from Suidobashi Station on the JR Chuo Line, with a calm Japanese-style interior that has the warmth of wood.
In addition to counter seats that are easy to use even when dining alone, it also has tables where you can relax and take your time.

They serve kushiyaki (grilled skewers) made with fresh Domestic ingredients sourced daily. The "Waton yakiton (grilled Domestic pork skewers)" and "yakitori (grilled chicken skewers)," slowly grilled over binchotan (high-grade white charcoal), are tender and juicy.
For drinks, they offer standard beer and highballs, as well as hoppy and Kinmiya.
Photograph:くるのすけ
The hearty Baka-mori (huge portion) series, with its bold look, is also popular.
The photo shows the "Baka-mori French Fries." At about 800g, it is very filling. They also have "Baka-mori Kara-age," so be sure to check it out.
おとみ【都内住みフッ軽女】
I wasn’t that hungry, but I wanted to have a few drinks and chat, so this izakaya had just the right atmosphere. It felt lively and made it easy to talk in a fun, upbeat setting. The menu centered on yakiton (grilled pork skewers), along with fried dishes, small plates, Teppan-yaki, and more... It was an easy lineup to choose from depending on your mood. And of course, the drink menu was extensive too✨

グルメニスタ
The exterior had a traditional old-style charm, and passing through the noren (shop curtain), I found a lively interior. There were counter and table seats inside, making it suitable for everything from drinking alone to visiting in a group. The staff were also friendly, and even though it was my first visit, I felt right at home! Their specialty yakiton (grilled pork skewers) came in a wide variety, and every one was excellent!

Izakaya Haremaitei Suidobashi Ekimae Ten is an izakaya with great access, right near JR Suidobashi Station. The interior is spacious, with a variety of seating options to suit different group sizes.
It also offers fully private rooms for private use, so it works for a range of occasions, from Special days to after-parties.

They serve their specialty Sendai Beef Tongue, as well as fragrant Domestic yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and sashimi delivered directly from Toyosu Market.
The dishes are said to be easy to enjoy, meaty, and refined in flavor across the board. They also offer a wide selection of Japanese sake, so you can pair it with your meal.

The specialty is the "Beef Tongue-packed Hot Pot," and it is popular for its tasty soy sauce based soup with a light sweetness, made with the rich dashi of kombu kelp, bonito, and jidori (free-range chicken).
The generous amount of tender Domestic Beef Tongue, tofu, and vegetables are said to soak up the flavor really well.
食先
You can relax and enjoy your time at this private room izakaya with a calm atmosphere✨Even with an all you can drink plan, every dish is the real deal! The melt-in-your-mouth simmered Beef Tongue and charcoal-grilled dishes were amazing, and the rich, tender basashi (horse sashimi) was so good I couldn’t stop eating! Every dish was carefully seasoned and paired perfectly with drinks, making this a Manzoku restaurant that is ideal for course meals or business entertainment!

An izakaya (Japanese pub) enjoyed with a big group is a great space full of energy, with constant laughter and the sound of toasts. The time spent gathered around a table, getting excited while sharing favorite dishes and drinks, is something special. Topics that do not usually come up also start flowing naturally, creating moments that bring people closer together.

Nobunaga Suidobashi Ten is a yakitori izakaya about a 9-minute walk from Jimbocho Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, and it is said to be popular for its reasonably priced, hearty dishes.
Inside, hanging lanterns create a fun, festival-like mood, and the space is said to be unique, with Japanese sword objects and folding fans that bring to mind the Sengoku (Warring States period), just like the restaurant’s name.

The charcoal grilled yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), carefully cooked with expert skill, is very popular. Grilled over high quality binchotan (white charcoal), the yakitori locks in the flavor and stays plump.
The recommended choice is the “assortment,” which lets you choose salt or tare (sweet soy based sauce) and enjoy popular cuts.
Photograph:bob22
Among the Banquet courses, there is also a menu that comes with All you can eat from the restaurant’s famous "baka-mori (huge portion) menu." It includes All you can eat Kara-age, fries, and motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot), so it is very filling.
The large Kara-age pieces are juicy, and their slightly spicy flavor is well liked.
ゆず1972
A restaurant with great yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and tasty Kara-age. The yakitori is reasonably priced and very good, and for the Kara-age you can choose anywhere from 1 to 60 pieces. Also, the crazy large assortment of fries really is crazy large, and when two of us tried to eat it, things got pretty intense. Be careful with the crazy large assortment. But it was good, and we finished it all.

This yakitori restaurant is a few minutes on foot from Suido Station West Exit. Since it was Friday, the place was crowded. The yakitori and grilled skewer lineup is extensive, with prices from JPY80 per skewer, and it is also great that you can order by the piece. I recommend that each person order the shiro reba (white liver), which was cooked just right. It was a great meal!

Hamayaki Kaisen Izakaya Daisho Suisan Suidobashi Ten is a seafood izakaya right near the East Exit of JR Suidobashi Station, and it is popular for its lively, beach hut-like space decorated with big catch flags.
It is fully equipped with table seating and zashiki (tatami seating) that can also accommodate large groups. People say you can have a great time in the lively and open atmosphere.

They are popular for hamayaki (seaside-style grilled seafood) with shrimp, crab, and shellfish, as well as hearty sushi and sashimi.
The style here is to enjoy fresh seafood as hamayaki grilled on a tabletop stove. The well-liked "Omakase Hamayaki Full Set" includes shellfish, shrimp, and popular kani miso (crab tomalley) grilled in the shell.

The photo shows the restaurant’s signature dish, “Bukkake Sushi Kobore assortment.” Tuna, salmon, buri (yellowtail), negitoro (minced tuna with green onion), and ikura (salmon roe) are piled generously over thin sushi rolls.
It looks Surprising at first sight, and it tastes just as Surprising thanks to the quality of the toppings.
大人のごほうび飯&隠れ飲み歩き記
The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, and one of its big draws is enjoying fresh seafood in hamayaki (seaside-style grill) style. The hamayaki was plump and packed with flavor. The sashimi assortment was also very fresh, and everything was delicious. They also have a wide selection of Japanese sake, which paired perfectly with the seafood. This is an izakaya that seafood lovers will find hard to resist, with great value for money! It is a perfect spot for drinks with friends or after work.

It’s great that you can enjoy this level of quality at this price! Besides the seafood dishes, the meat was also very good☺︎There was also something like a takoyaki (octopus balls) stand inside the restaurant, where an energetic older man grills them right in front of you. I didn’t get to try them this time, but I’d like to next time. I think it’s a really fun and interesting idea☺︎
