The recommendation is a course centered on kegani (horsehair crab) and matsubagani (snow crab), which is at its best in winter.
The "Live Kegani Course" lets you fully enjoy original dishes made with extra-large live kegani along with dishes featuring seasonal ingredients.
Photograph:⭐️リリー⭐️
The pre-cooking crab looks so impressive that you will want to take a photo. The seasonal course featuring live matsubagani (snow crab) includes plans where you can enjoy either half a crab or one whole crab per person.
Many diners say they were moved by how good the crab was at the Japanese restaurant Ginza Yuina.

We started with kobako-gani (female snow crab) cheese porridge. The legs were for a quick shabu-shabu swish, then you hang them down and eat them. The buri (yellowtail) sashimi was insanely good. There was kobako-gani under the chawanmushi (savory egg custard) too. Then came matsuba-gani (male snow crab) smoked over a wood fire and a matsuba-gani hot sandwich. After the Chateaubriand, we had matsuba-gani kama-taki gohan (rice cooked in a pot) . We were treated to a real luxury.

イケドサダハル
On this day, I had a crab-filled course. I enjoyed it to the fullest as sashimi, grilled, and steamed in all kinds of ways, and from the moment the ingredients were brought out at the start, it was an amazing time. The wine and Japanese sake paired with the dishes were also excellent, making it a luxurious time. The Private room was comfortable for about 6 people.

They are known for outstanding crab, including premium, large tarabagani (red king crab) and matsubagani (snow crab), delivered fresh every day direct from the production regions.
With many ways of cooking and enjoying it, plus skilled craftsmanship that makes it easy to eat, this is recommended for both a first crab experience and seasoned crab lovers.

I think it was the best experience✨They prepared the crab right in front of me and even showed me its tiny star-shaped heart. I’ve gone to eat crab in many places, but I don’t think there are many restaurants where you can have an experience like this♪♪It’s a bit too much of a stretch for ordinary people to visit often, but once the season for matsubagani (snow crab) starts, I’d like to go again.

I visited with someone I had been saying I wanted to go with, right before the Matsuba-gani (snow crab) fishing season ended. The Matsuba-gani marinated in Shaoxing wine, the kani miso (crab tomalley) shabu-shabu, and especially the final dish with kani miso, fukahire (shark fin), and crab meat were all excellent, but that last dish with kani miso, fukahire, and crab meat was a shockingly good dish I had not experienced in a long time. As for drinks, we enjoyed plenty of crab sake after starting with Hoegaarden!

The full course of tarabagani (red king crab) and matsubagani (snow crab) I enjoyed in Ginza was a Special experience that let me feel the true essence of food. In the stylish atmosphere, every dish served was refined and beautifully presented, making it a feast for the eyes as well. A relaxed lunch while looking out over the Sukiyabashi intersection. I got to enjoy crab to the fullest with grilled crab, gratin, chawanmushi (savory egg custard), tempura, thick sushi rolls, and miso soup. The gratin in particular was seasoned perfectly, and adding salt to the tempura brought out the crab’s sweetness even more. The service was also excellent, including the timing of things like replacing the oshibori (wet hand towel).

This live crab kaiseki (traditional multi-course meal) specialty restaurant is a 1-minute walk from Exit B7 of Ginza Station on the Tokyo Metro (Each) lines, on the 4th floor of the Ginza Flore Building V.
The restaurant serves carefully selected top quality crab from Hokkaido, known for its rich fishing grounds, as well as branded crab from around Japan.
Ginza Kani Akatsuki is popular for the live feel of watching skilled chefs handle their knives right in front of you across the counter.
It also seems to be highly rated among crab lovers and serious food fans, and some customers come back again and again.

The owner personally checks the quality at the market and finishes each dish with skilled craftsmanship in this live crab kaiseki (traditional multi-course meal) course.
The popular choice is the “Crab Enjoyment Course” available at lunch and dinner, but the “Crab and Sushi Enjoyment Course,” which comes with nigiri sushi that makes the most of the ingredients’ natural flavors, is also highly recommended.

At first, I felt a little nervous because of the refined and dignified atmosphere of this Ginza restaurant, but it was also fun to watch the chef skillfully prepare the live kani (crab) right across the counter (the owner was very friendly). This is a famous restaurant that crab lovers absolutely should not miss^_^This time, we had the "Kani Tanō Course (Crab Feast Course)"♡Every dish was seriously outstanding, but my personal top picks were the kani dog and the tarabagani (red king crab) steak! The tarabagani steak had thick, plump crab meat!! It was such a luxurious dish that you are sure to feel happy with every bite☺︎

You can enjoy crab dishes in relaxing Japanese style Private rooms. The Private rooms are available for parties of 2 or more, and they seem to be a popular choice for special occasions and business meals.

There are several Omakase courses with different prices and contents, and you can add an All you can drink option for an extra charge.
The ingredients are Special selections handpicked by the owner during trips to the production regions. This is crab and Japanese cuisine that makes you want to slowly savor each ingredient.
For crab dishes, the kani-nabe (crab Hot Pot) is recommended, with a gorgeous look and a style everyone can enjoy together.
It comes with 3 to 4 kinds of crab, and the meat is said to be packed tightly inside. To finish the Hot Pot, they recommend zosui (rice porridge), with rice that soaks up the rich flavor of the crab and other ingredients.

Snow crab and tarabagani (red king crab) shabu-shabu each let you enjoy a different kind of sweetness and texture! The crab steak is juicy inside and packed with flavor, and it tastes amazing. To finish, the zosui (rice porridge) was concentrated with the rich flavor of crab and was honestly excellent. I was very Manzoku with the many dishes that made the most of the quality of the ingredients! This is a place you'll want to visit again.

The kegani (horsehair crab) meat was sweet and packed with rich umami, and the kani cream croquette was a great dish with a fun contrast between the crisp, fragrant coating and the creamy filling inside. The hotate (scallops) and ika (squid) were fresh too, and the finishing crab rice had a deeply satisfying flavor, with the dashi and crab taste lingering gently! The staff gave us a lesson on how to eat the crab. Without tips on how to cut the shell with scissors and how to take out the meat, defeat would have been certain. The "tarabagani (red king crab) steak" in the "Kani Kaiseki [Hana]" features a sweet and savory soy sauce butter seasoning. The menu has a nice rhythm of lighter and richer dishes, making this a course that leaves you with a sense of Manzoku.
Lunch is also well regarded, with options such as the crab and sushi Omakase course "Jo Lunch Kaiseki."

It has nice Private rooms. The crab was really delicious. The course meal was just the right amount. I want to go again.

・Crab Kaiseki [Tsuki]
The sashimi came with 2 kinds of crab, kegani (horsehair crab) and zuwaigani (snow crab), and both were so sweet they practically melted in my mouth. I tried the kegani first and was blown away!! Then I had the zuwaigani, and it was just as good. Starting with this felt unfair in the best way, and it completely won me over♡Next came lightly seared kegani. It had a nice toasty aroma that was totally different from the sashimi, and you could tell just by looking at it(^^)

Popular crab restaurants in Tokyo's Shibuya, Ebisu, and Daikanyama area

Tokyo's Ebisu is a stylish neighborhood known for its famous restaurants and sleek urban shops.
At Ebisu Kaniyoshi, you can enjoy fresh live crab taken straight from the tank in elegant Japanese-style Private rooms.

This crab dish stands out for its bright presentation and carefully chosen plateware.
The chef here trained at a famous ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant) and is said to have honed refined Japanese cooking skills. With close attention to sourcing ingredients and adding creative touches in the kitchen, the restaurant serves Japanese cuisine that brings in the best of each season.
The recommended choice is the "Fuji Omakase course," which includes a whole zwai-gani (snow crab) platter, a tasting of two kinds of crab, and the popular crab Hot Pot.
The crab Hot Pot is a dish where you swish crab meat through the broth shabu-shabu style. To finish, you can enjoy Clay Pot crab zosui (rice porridge) with beaten egg, made with rice that has soaked up the rich umami of the broth.

・"Fuji" Omakase course
The glossy, beautiful kani-shabu (crab shabu-shabu) is a feast for the eyes from the moment it arrives. The fried dish, kegani (horsehair crab), kani-shabu, and the zosui (rice porridge) to finish all taste amazing, with a perfect balance of umami and softly set egg. The portions were quite generous, so even two people will leave very full!

・“Fuji” Omakase course
This was the first place I’ve been where I could enjoy kani (crab) prepared in so many different ways, and it was great. The crab sashimi was plump and amazing! The kani-shabu (crab shabu-shabu) felt wonderfully luxurious, and even the final zosui (rice porridge) was just the right portion. The portion was just right, but the zosui was so good that I wanted to eat the whole thing by myself.

A course that lets you fully enjoy high quality kani (crab). The especially popular dinner option is the "Irodori Course," where you can enjoy crab dishes and Japanese cuisine such as "zuwai (snow crab) and taraba (king crab) ozukuri (sashimi style platter)."
One of the signature menu items is the "kani Hot Pot." The higher tier "Hana Course" includes the "jo-kani Hot Pot (premium crab hot pot)."

If you want to fully enjoy crab dishes, this is a great choice because you can enjoy them in Tokyo without going all the way out of town. I was able to enjoy dishes that made the most of the crab's great flavor, and it was Manzoku. I would like to visit again when the season changes.

"O-kani Meshi with Mini Crab Cream Croquette" is a great dish for lunch or a casual dinner.
This signature rice dish with snow crab is first served into a bowl and enjoyed with Rishiri kombu kelp broth poured over it. Next, you can eat the kani-meshi on its own, and finally enjoy it a third way with yakumi (condiments) and broth.

A kani kaiseki (traditional multi-course crab meal) available for one person or more, whether for lunch or dinner.
You can choose from assorted varieties available of courses that include authentic crab dishes such as Japanese Hot Pot dishes like zuwaigani (snow crab) shabu-shabu and hontarabagani (red king crab) steamed in a bamboo steamer.

・O-kani meshi (crab rice)
The generous topping of loosened crab meat goes perfectly with the rice cooked in a refined Japanese dashi broth, and with each bite, the crab’s sweetness and aroma spread across your palate. It was delicious as is, but you can also pour dashi over it to enjoy it ochazuke-style, or add yakumi (condiments) for a change of flavor, so I enjoyed it to the very last bite without ever getting tired of it.

Shinagawa Kani Masa is in a great location, just a 1-minute walk from the Konan-guchi (Konan Exit) of Shinagawa Station, one of Japan’s major terminal stations.

A specialist restaurant where you can enjoy live crab dishes all year round, with highly rated reviews for its course meals. The plating is also beautiful, and many say the dishes are highly satisfying, with the rich flavor of the crab coming through clearly.
Besides dinner, the lunch-only Gozen set and the "Kani Shabu Lunch Course" are also recommended.

The popular course meal "Kani Kaiseki [Hana]" is a crab feast featuring tarabagani (red king crab), zuwaigani (snow crab), and kegani (horsehair crab).
From grilled dishes and steamed dishes to Hot Pot dishes, each plate brings out the natural flavor of the crab and shows off the skill of the chefs.

The kani-shabu (crab hotpot), kani-sashi (raw crab sashimi), and yaki-gani (grilled crab) all let you really taste the natural flavor of the ingredients. There are several All you can eat courses, with different kinds and sizes of crab.
Some plans include three kinds of crab: tarabagani (red king crab), hon-zuwaigani (snow crab), and beni-zuwaigani (red snow crab). In addition to crab, the All you can eat courses include about 60 items such as sushi and fried dishes.

You can grill the crab over the stove set into the table. It turns nicely fragrant, and the sweetness comes out even more, making it very tasty.

I went with the All you can eat plan for hon-zuwaigani (snow crab) M and beni-zuwaigani (red snow crab), and the crab meat was packed in tightly, sweet, and delicious! When grilled, it became even sweeter and was the best.

I visited because they offer All you can eat hon-zuwai-gani (snow crab) and beni-zuwai-gani (red snow crab). Although the crab was served cold, the meat was nicely packed in and had a sweet flavor, so it was very good. The shells were also easy to peel, and I could not stop eating! The sushi is made to order, with classic toppings like salmon, tuna, and sweet shrimp. One nice point is that it is served freshly made.

Kaniichi serves carefully prepared seasonal crab with delicate seasoning and cooking methods.
The crab, served at its best time to eat, is packed with meat and has a sweet taste, while the kani miso (crab tomalley) is rich. The menu lineup includes lunch-only Gozen set meals and kaiseki courses for dinner.

The dinner crab kaiseki course explores the goodness of crab through a range of cooking methods such as tempura and Hot Pot.
Among them, the "Kani Kaiseki [Toku]" is especially popular, and lets you fully enjoy a side by side tasting of tarabagani (red king crab) and zuwaigani (snow crab).
丸の内女子
Tempura (snow crab, young corn, zucchini): the crispy batter and the rich flavor of the snow crab were a great match. The young corn was crisp and sweet, and the zucchini was juicy and light. Even though it was fried, it did not feel heavy, and the natural flavors of the ingredients really stood out. Crab Hot Pot and udon. The Hot Pot had a rich dashi broth, and the crab flavor melted into it, making it mild and rounded.

The quiet, clean interior is divided into Private rooms, so we could enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. The crab was sweet and melted in the mouth. The sashimi and tempura were especially great!
