Popular shabu-shabu restaurants in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture [Osaka Station, Umeda, and Shinchi Area]
Photograph:まゆげるげ
This is a hidden shabu-shabu and sukiyaki restaurant on the basement level 1 of Parmalie Inn Dojima in Kitashinchi, Osaka’s upscale entertainment district.
The refined interior has fully private rooms throughout and brings to mind a high-end ryokan (traditional Japanese inn). Its pure Japanese style and relaxing atmosphere are part of its appeal as well.
Shabu-shabu supervised by the chef of a famous French restaurant in Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo.
You can enjoy a Special shabu-shabu experience featuring Tamura gyu (Tamura Wagyu), a branded Wagyu rated among the highest quality, along with carefully selected beef and pork and dishes made with truffles.
For the first slice of shabu-shabu, the staff will prepare it for you, so you can enjoy it at its best.
They dip it in a delicate broth made with kombu kelp from southern Hokkaido, then pair it with the house sesame sauce, ponzu sauce, and special yakumi (condiments).
ryoppingshower
The dishes come out one by one, and for the meat, the staff first shabu-shabu it for you. The taste was just... amazing! They quickly swish top-grade cuts of beautifully marbled meat in the pot, and when you put them in your mouth, they melt away. I was especially happy that they had Beef Tongue shabu-shabu, and that the vegetable assortment included some unusual vegetables.

・Premium marbled Beef Tongue served with ume shio (salt with pickled plum), lemon salt, wasabi salt, and nira dare (garlic chive sauce). It tastes great with any of them, but the nira dare in particular is light and addictively good.・ Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu) Spencer roll, haneshita (part near the shoulder), and thigh All the cuts have beautiful marbling, are tender, and almost melt in your mouth. Enjoy them with shiro ponzu (mild ponzu sauce) or sesame sauce. The shiro ponzu has very little acidity and tastes very good.

You can enjoy shabu-shabu made with agu buta (Okinawan pork), a popular specialty from Okinawa, on the 2nd floor of the FOODEAR Building, just a 1-minute walk from JR Kitashinchi Station.

Shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot) is known for its light taste, bringing out the freshness and flavor of the ingredients to the fullest while locking in their savory goodness.
Agu-buta (Okinawan Agu pork) includes the highest grade premium pineapple, raised on 100% pure native Agu bloodline pork and feed blended with pineapple powder.

This shabu-shabu offers a new kind of experience, with crisp lettuce, pork, and mozuku (Okinawan seaweed).
The sweet fat of agu-buta (Okinawan Agu pork) pairs well with the fresh shikuwasa ponzu and salt used for dipping. Many reviews from locals stood out, praising both the atmosphere of the restaurant and the excellent food.
The Hot Pot came in a suisho-nabe (crystal Hot Pot), and it looked beautiful too. The key ingredient, agu pork (Okinawan pork), had great umami, with a sweet yet clean taste! It was even better when I wrapped the meat, vegetables, and mozuku (Okinawan seaweed) together◎The meat was light and refreshing, so I ended up eating more than I expected. It also paired well with ponzu sauce. To finish, of course, I had Okinawa soba (Okinawan noodles), and the medium-thick noodles soaked up the broth and tasted great.

・Pineapple Agu Pork (Okinawan brand pork) Mozuku (Okinawan seaweed) Lettuce Shabu-Shabu
They say the dried pineapple in the feed makes the meat tender. When swished through the clear golden dashi broth, it really is tender, and the meat’s sweetness spreads across your mouth. Along with vegetables like lettuce and mizuna (potherb mustard), the Hot Pot also includes mozuku as an ingredient, making it not only tasty but also well balanced and health conscious.

They cut the meat only after an order comes in, which brings out the best of the ingredients.
The shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot) is enjoyed with their special sesame sauce and ponzu sauce. To finish, a popular choice is tantanmen-style noodles made with chuka soba (Chinese-style noodles) that have soaked up the broth, then mixed with sesame sauce, chili oil, and the house original spice blend.

This sukiyaki is served in the yaki-suki style, grilling with zarame (coarse sugar) in the Kansai way. The one-pot-per-person style lets each guest enjoy it at their own pace, just the way they like.
The meat varies by course, including Japan’s three major Wagyu brands and Kagoshima brand pork.
櫻川あい
There are two kinds of meat: beautifully marbled beef and pork with a nice sweetness in the fat. It gets you excited from the moment you see it. The vegetables are colorful and well balanced, with mushrooms, tofu, and leafy greens, and everything is fresh. The mushrooms in particular have a rich aroma and go perfectly with the broth. The Hot Pot broth is full of umami, and simply swishing the meat through it makes it plenty delicious.

With one Hot Pot per person, you can eat at your own pace. First, they ask you to sip the dashi (soup stock) before adding the ingredients. It is a very tasty broth. I enjoyed Satsuma gyu (Satsuma beef) and Kokuho ton (Kokuho pork). The sesame sauce and ponzu sauce are original house recipes. I was happy to be able to eat plenty of vegetables. For the final course, I chose ramen.

The vegetables are served buffet-style from a self-serve bar. People like that they can eat plenty of fresh vegetables, and say it feels healthy.

There are as many as 14 kinds of broth for the Hot Pot, so there are almost too many to choose from. You can change up the flavor, so you never get tired of it, enjoy plenty of vegetables, and pick a broth that goes well with the meat. We chose Kiwami Wadashi (premium Japanese broth) and Yuzu Shio (yuzu salt). I recommend Yuzu Shio! For the finishing dish, they have udon, chuka-men (Chinese noodles), and zosui (rice porridge) all available◎It is also nice that you can choose your finishing dish based on how you feel that day. What is more, it even comes with dessert!

The Strip loin is best after a quick swish in the broth to let some of the fat melt away, and the sweetness and umami are irresistible! The sushi uses akazu (red vinegar) rice, which is a nice surprise. It has no off notes and tastes very fresh, so this All you can eat option feels like a great deal. There is also a wide variety of meat sushi. I ordered every kind, and among them the Wagyu marbled beef was by far the best. So this is what people mean when they say the meat melts in your mouth.

This is the Chateaubriand shabu-shabu course. It is very luxurious, but as expected, the meat is incredibly tender and delicious! The vegetables are also very generous. This restaurant is popular for shabu-shabu and sukiyaki made with Omi gyu (Omi beef), as well as the restaurant's original new dish, tsuyu-shabu (shabu-shabu served with broth).
It also has easy-to-use Private room options with Japanese-style rooms and table seating, where you can relax away from the noise of the city.

For its shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot), the restaurant uses A4 and A5 rank "Omi gyu (Omi beef)" sourced through its own authorized channels, as well as high quality "Kobe gyu (Kobe beef)".
They also recommend the full course, which lets you compare shabu-shabu made with different branded wagyu and includes Omi gyu nigiri and sashimi style preparations.

The specialty tsuyu-shabu (pork shabu-shabu served with dipping broth) is a dish where 0.8mm thinly sliced pork is swished through hot water, then eaten with a Japanese-style broth filled with plenty of white negi (Japanese leek).
It is said to have a well-balanced taste, with the melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavor of the pork matched by the house special broth made in five stages.

Once you quickly swish the meat through the Hot Pot water and it goes "chiriri," it's ready to eat. The shabu-shabu was so good, eaten not with sesame sauce or ponzu but with "otsuyu" (broth)! It was thin and tender, and I felt like I could keep eating slice after slice. To finish, they had unusual wa-soba (Japanese soba noodles)! That was great too……✨It felt lighter than rice or even udon!

Located near Tsuyunoten Jinja (Tsuyunoten Shrine), also known as Ohatsu Tenjin, one of Osaka’s classic sightseeing spots, this area draws many visitors to the shrine to pray for good relationships.

The All you can eat Domestic Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) shabu-shabu is popular, and people say the finely marbled meat and melt-in-your-mouth flavor are excellent.
Among the courses, a plan that includes All you can eat negi-maki tan-shabu (green onion wrapped beef tongue shabu-shabu), Kuroge Wagyu meat sushi, and seafood sushi is especially popular.
For the selectable shabu-shabu broth, the recommended choice is kogane dashi (golden bonito-based broth).
The freshly shaved additional bonito gives it a great aroma, and it brings out the natural flavors of the Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu), vegetables, mushrooms, and other ingredients, with a comforting taste that really sinks into your body.

Shabuzen Umeda Ten is a specialty restaurant for Wagyu and Domestic beef shabu-shabu and sukiyaki. The interior has a calm atmosphere with a distinctly Japanese feel.
It has Semi-private rooms and fully private rooms, so you can relax and enjoy Japanese cuisine without worrying about the people around you.
The restaurant offers luxurious shabu-shabu courses featuring domestic branded beef, including Omi Beef, one of Japan’s three great Wagyu varieties, as well as kuroge wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu).
The cuts each have their own character, from melt-in-your-mouth sweet Strip loin and rich, flavorful Spencer roll to lean cuts that eat lightly.
The All you can eat course, where you can enjoy vegetables and meat until you are fully Manzoku, is popular.
The dipping sauces essential for shabu-shabu are fresh raw sauces prepared at the restaurant with Special ingredients. You can choose between their sesame sauce and ponzu sauce, both made with the restaurant’s own method.

The richly marbled Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) was so delicious. I got seconds again and again! That way, the sauce does not get watered down.

The Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black Wagyu) shabu-shabu is delicious. Mix grated garlic, green onion, and ichimi (Japanese chili pepper) into the sesame sauce well, then dip the meat in it and it tastes amazing. The pork shabu-shabu was delicious, as you would expect. Personally, I loved adding yuzu kosho (yuzu pepper paste) for a nice spicy kick. We finished with handa-men (thick somen noodles), and unlike other somen, they were thicker and very satisfying to eat.

A friend introduced me to this place՞・·・՞I was so happy that it was in an easy-to-get-to location and in a comfortable price range. I got so into the main shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot) that I forgot to take photos. I was blown away by how perfectly the meat and vegetables went together~՞߹ - ߹՞The broth was so good that it was great even without dipping anything in sauce. Next time I have to try the beef too...

Located on the 1st floor of the main building of Namba CITY, a shopping center directly connected to Nankai Namba Station, this place is easy to get to even on rainy days.
The restaurant has spacious table sofa seating and Sunken kotatsu seating, creating a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal at ease.
The top recommended menu item is the nishoku-nabe (two-flavor Hot Pot), which lets you enjoy shabu-shabu and sukiyaki at the same time and feels like a great deal.
You can choose from several kinds, including the Hidaka kombu kelp broth that brings out the rich flavor of the meat, the “sukidashi” broth to dip in egg, and the appetite-boosting “umakara Chige broth.”

Depending on the plan, you can enjoy All you can eat meat, vegetables, and desserts. Fresh vegetables are lined up at the buffet counter, and you can freely choose what you like.
There is also a wide range of sauces and yakumi (condiments), which is another nice point since you can try all kinds of flavors.

I’m happy that with this All you can eat shabu-shabu style meal, you can get plenty of vegetables. There were lots of sauces and condiments too, so I ended up eating a lot. There was also a wide variety of desserts, and you could make waffles and enjoy All you can eat soft serve. Even Haagen-Dazs was All you can eat. I was very satisfied.

I visited for an All you can eat plan where I could enjoy both shabu-shabu and sukiyaki. The meat was served with each order, and the beef for the shabu-shabu was especially tender and a great match for the broth. There was also a wide selection of vegetables, a yakumi (condiments) bar, and plenty of desserts, making it a highly satisfying meal.

Conveniently accessible from both Yotsubashi Station and Shinsaibashi Station, this restaurant is a handy choice thanks to its all-Sunken kotatsu seating-style Private rooms where you can relax.

In addition to premium options like the "Domestic black-haired Wagyu A5 Strip loin" and "Matsusaka-gyu (Matsusaka beef)," they also offer a lineup of shabu-shabu with Special cuts such as the "Domestic black-haired Wagyu Beef Tongue," enjoyed with three kinds of salt.
It is said to be popular for its rich and excellent shabu-shabu, made with a deep flavorful blend of oxtail soup and dashi from katsuobushi and kombu kelp.

The restaurant's signature dish is said to be shabu-shabu made with Yamato-buta (Yamato pork) cut to 0.8mm and a secret broth made with katsuo (bonito) and urume-iwashi (round herring), created after many years of research.
Adding white negi (Japanese leek) to the secret broth gives it a nice aroma and makes it light and easy to eat, too.

The shabu-shabu made with Yamasan-gyu (Yamasan beef) in the Domestic Kuroge Wagyu shabu-shabu course was incredibly delicious. It was my first time trying Yamasan-gyu, and the balance of sweet fat and rich lean flavor was perfect❣️It was the kind of meat that made me want to keep eating slice after slice. The meat had a fine texture, and when enjoyed as shabu-shabu, it melted in my mouth at the end and tasted amazing.

In Shinmachi in the Shinsaibashi/Yotsubashi area, this quiet grown-up hideaway offers shabu-shabu with all Private rooms. The Beef Tongue shabu, enjoyed in a special dashi made by combining beef tail and katsuobushi (bonito flakes), is outstanding, with the rich flavors layering beautifully with thinly sliced green onions. They also offer Yamasan Gyu (Yamasan beef), a branded beef from Sakai, and Yamato Buta (Yamato pork), so you can fully enjoy the harmony between the meat's sweetness and the dashi.

The “Kagoshima Prefecture Kurobuta (Berkshire pork) Dashi Shabu,” which pairs perfectly with honkarebushi (dried and fermented bonito flakes) shaved to a thickness of 0.01mm from Kagoshima Prefecture, is said to be an excellent match with pork.
Because the meat is cut after you order, you can enjoy the rich flavor of fresh meat.
People are talking about the tasty shabu-shabu, made with a broth rich in okaka (bonito flakes) dashi that brings out the flavor of the shabu-shabu.
By adding more katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) right before serving, they say you can enjoy the rich aroma of freshly shaved flakes.

The broth has a rich dashi flavor, and the meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a taste that makes you want to come back again and again. They also offer a wide variety of obanzai (Kyoto-style small dishes), and every seasonal a la carte dish was delicious, so we enjoyed the meal without ever getting tired of it. The staff were also polite, and we had a very pleasant time.

I visited on Saturday night during a three-day weekend, and there were only 1〜2 groups of customers, so I got in right away. The shabu-shabu made with plenty of katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) was very delicious. I ordered extra meat. The service was quick, the staff were kind, and I would definitely like to visit again.

A course where you can fully enjoy high quality Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef). Above all, the recommended choice is the Special Kuroge Wagyu, made with carefully selected marbled beef graded A4 or higher.
The melt-in-your-mouth texture of the marbled beef and the rich flavor that spreads across the palate are said to be irresistible.
The All you can eat shabu-shabu course also includes a reasonably priced plan with premium Australian Spencer roll beef. The dipping sauces are house-made goma-dare (sesame sauce) and ponzu sauce, and the meal ends with kishimen (flat udon noodles).
You can also eat vegetables, so you can enjoy a balanced meal without getting tired of it.

For All you can eat shabu-shabu, I think the meat is top quality. When you ask for another serving, they bring it right away. The goma-dare (sesame sauce) and ponzu sauce are not that distinctive, but they are more than good enough!

The shabu-shabu was tender and tasty, with no cheap feel at all. It was a simple All you can eat plan with meat and vegetables, but after three refills of both, I was full. The amount that came out each time was on the larger side, and some slices of meat were even bigger than a palm, which was great.

The shabu-shabu made with Hojuton (branded pork from Nagasaki Prefecture) is popular, and it is said to be springy yet tender and juicy.
The dashi broth has a rich flavor, and the pork wrapped around vegetables is also tasty with yuba (tofu skin) sauce or yuzu kosho (citrus chili paste).

The shabu-shabu with Kyoto-fu (Kyoto Prefecture) "Kyo-gamo" duck loin is also available. This rare aigamo (crossbred duck) is known for its rich flavor and pleasant bite.
The dinner shabu-shabu course includes an 8-item sake snack assortment tray featuring seasonal flavors. It’s popular because you can enjoy a wide variety of dishes in small portions.

I was craving Hot Pot, so I searched around and found this place where you can try a rare pork called Hoju-buta (rare pork breed), so I decided to go in! Every cut was delicious, and it was a great find! The Appetizers, grilled dishes, and steamed vegetables all had a gentle, tasty flavor that showed how much care they put into the ingredients! In a good way, one of the best things about it is that it doesn’t feel like a typical Kyobashi restaurant!

Popular shabu-shabu restaurants in Osaka Prefecture [Sakai City / Hirakata City]

Located in the south-central part of Osaka Prefecture, Sakai City is the area home to Nintoku Tenno Ryo Kofun (the mausoleum mound of Emperor Nintoku), Japan’s largest kofun burial mound.
Kisoji Shukuin Ten is an easy 1-minute walk from Terajicho Station. It is a well-known chain for shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot) and Japanese cuisine, with high-quality hospitality, an elegant setting, and refined food.
This shabu-shabu kaiseki meal also lets you enjoy seasonal dishes. From the sakizuke (appetizer) to the Hot Pot finish and dessert, the course is satisfying.
Shabu-shabu is a healthy choice, as you swish the meat through the dashi broth to remove extra fat. It also makes it easy to enjoy vegetables in a tasty way, so it is recommended for people of all ages.

At dinner, they also offer a good-value shabu-shabu course with a simple setup.
There are assorted varieties available of plans featuring carefully selected Domestic beef loin, Wagyu marbled beef, and Special Wagyu marbled beef that meet their own standards.
おとひな
Even the regular Domestic beef course for shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot) has meat that is plenty tender and delicious. The creamy goma-dare (sesame dipping sauce) is a standout. The ponzu sauce is also mild in acidity, so it is easy to enjoy. To finish, they skim off all the scum from the broth to make it into a clear soup, season it with salt and pepper, and serve kishimen (flat wheat noodles).

The Special marbled beef was tender and really delicious. We finished with Chinese noodles. I like this much better than udon and mochi. I wish they had something like mini chashu (braised pork) too. For dessert, we had strawberry ice cream. I’ll definitely go back to eat there again.

Itsu is a restaurant in Hirakata City, located between Osaka City and Kyoto City, that serves Agu-buta (Okinawan Agu pork) and Okinawan local cuisine.
The stylish dark-toned interior has a chic, upscale feel, making it a great choice for dinner with your partner.
Shabu-shabu made with Agu-buta (Okinawan native purebred pork). It has a tender texture, with sweetness and rich flavor that spread across the palate.
In addition to regular pork and vegetables, you can also enjoy mozuku (Okinawan seaweed) in the shabu-shabu. The texture and saltiness of the mozuku stand out and make it very tasty.
To finish, enjoy the "Ichi Original Okinawa soba (Okinawan noodles)," soaked with the flavors of the ingredients.
In addition to shabu-shabu, the course also includes Okinawan dishes such as the Okinawa specialty rafute (braised pork belly) and "Okinawa mozuku (Okinawan mozuku seaweed) dashimaki (Japanese rolled omelet)," which people say is a rare and well-liked combination.

Mozuku (Okinawan seaweed) and lettuce shabu-shabu was delicious. Personally, I liked it best with a little salt♡I used a nearby coin parking lot. The restaurant is not very large, but it had both table and counter seating.

The main cuts of Agu buta (Okinawan Agu pork), loin and belly, have a wonderful balance of lean meat and fat ♡ The meat is tender, the fat is sweet, and the rich flavor spreads with every bite. The vegetables served alongside are also excellent, especially the lettuce, which stays nice and crisp even after simmering! The saltiness of the mozuku (Okinawan seaweed) is just right, and it is best enjoyed with the dashi ☝️
