A kissaten (Japanese-style coffee shop) located a 3-minute walk from Kanayama Station. Founded in 1971, this retro cafe still has a good old-fashioned atmosphere.
There are 80 seats in total, with counter and table seating, in a spacious interior. They also host events such as exhibitions and live performances.

One of Nagoya’s local specialties is Indian spaghetti. This pasta dish is served with curry sauce poured over the top. At this restaurant, it comes on a Teppan-yaki hot plate, so you can enjoy it piping hot.
People also say the soft-cooked fried egg adds a mellow flavor and makes it even more tasty.

It is located just a short walk from Kanayama Sogo Eki (Kanayama General Station). I had known for a while that there was a kissaten (traditional Japanese coffee shop) here, but the timing never worked out, so I was finally able to visit this time. The interior has that classic kissaten feel. The retro atmosphere is nice.

This shop stands on the former site of the famous Nagoya establishment, Konparu. It is said to be a retro cafe where you can enjoy sandwiches and coffee while taking in the atmosphere of a jun-kissa (classic Japanese coffee shop). It is a 7-minute walk from Kanayama Station.
At the counter seats by the window, you can spend time looking outside. It also has sofa and table seating.

The carefully crafted sandwiches are said to be grilled with care on a Teppan-yaki griddle. The signature menu item is the "Ebifurai Sando (fried shrimp sandwich)".

I visited because I wanted to have an ebi fry sando (fried shrimp sandwich) again for the first time in a while, and the calm kissaten (Japanese coffee shop) atmosphere and the taste were both excellent(*´∀｀)The ebi fry sando comes with 3 fried shrimp, plus finely chopped cabbage, tartar sauce, and soft fluffy egg tucked inside!!( *´艸｀)It is filling but still easy to eat, making it perfect for lunch(*ﾟ▽ﾟ)ﾉ

This is a restaurant I had wanted to visit for a long time. It was easy to enter even alone, and the bright interior felt somehow nostalgic, for some reason reminding me of my student days^_^ The pasta was delicious. The salad was also generous. The baguette was nice and crispy, and delicious! Next time, I’d like to try an oil-based pasta too.

As expected, what I ordered again that day was the "Egg Sandwich" Breakfast. It came with hot coffee and a freshly made omelet, cooked after ordering and sandwiched between slices of bread. They ask whether you want the crusts on or off, so of course I kept the crusts on. The fluffy bread and glossy freshly cooked omelet were delicious. I love its gentle, comforting taste.
