Cafe & Dining Bar Kingyotei

Cafe & Dining Bar Kingyotei is a retro cafe with a goldfish theme, located a 14-minute walk from Hon-Kawagoe Station and Kawagoeshi Station.

Inside, the decor features goldfish-themed items, and there is also an aquarium with real goldfish. On nice days, the open terrace seating is also recommended.

This place is packed with menu items that are fun not only for the taste but also for the look. The colorful “Kingyobachi Soda (goldfish bowl soda)” is the signature item.

The soda contains goldfish-shaped kanten (agar jelly), making it look as if goldfish are swimming inside. It also comes in many flavors like orange and melon, and there is also a menu option topped with ice cream.

The "kingyo-yaki" is another item you will definitely want to try, a twist on taiyaki (Japanese fish-shaped cake), a traditional Japanese sweet.

Instead of being shaped like a Sea Bream, its chewy batter is shaped like a goldfish, and it is filled with smooth red bean paste or roasted sweet potato. Since only a limited number are available, it is best to order early.

I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal in the calm atmosphere. Eating while walking around is nice too, but both the terrace seats and the inside are stylish, so taking your time and dining at the restaurant is a good choice too◎

The soda served in a kingyo-bachi (goldfish bowl) had amazing visual impact. The vivid blue looked cool and refreshing, and the shape of the kingyo-bachi brought back memories of a summer festival. The fizzy freshness and sweetness were just right, and I also enjoyed the crunchy texture of the ice.

MOANA cafe&diner

MOANA cafe&diner, about a 6-minute walk from Kawagoe Station, is a hideaway cafe and dining spot popular for its lunch with All you can eat pancakes.

Inside, you will find a relaxing space with a tropical feel, where you can fully enjoy a Hawaiian mood. It also seems to have a spacious and open terrace seating area.

At lunchtime, they offer a wide lineup including pasta and hamburgers, but the curry, which you can choose in black or red, comes especially recommended.

The spice fragrant curry has an authentic taste, and the ingredients used change depending on the day.

What is nice is that all lunch menu items come with salad, soup, a drink, and All you can eat pancakes.

The pancakes seem to be made by whipping meringue into the batter before cooking, which gives them a light texture. They also come with fresh cream and syrup, so some people say they can keep eating them without getting tired of the taste.

Not only was the avocado cheeseburger delicious, but the soup and pancakes were also really good. I chose grapefruit juice for my drink, and it was refreshing and tasty ✨ My friend's poke Rice bowl looked good too. The weather was nice, so we asked for terrace seating, and it was a great choice ☺️ The staff were also very nice ✨

Loco Moco Rice bowl: This is what I ordered, and the Hamburger Steak was the real deal! It was juicy and full of meat juices, and when you mix it with the perfectly cooked runny fried egg, it is simply the best‼️

Cafe Patricia

Cafe Patricia is a cafe popular for its brunch menu, located a 4-minute walk from the west exit of JR Kawagoe Station.

Its stylish interior, where you can enjoy a luxurious time, gets great reviews, and it also has open terrace seating. The atmosphere makes it easy to relax and enjoy the food and drinks.

A nice touch is that the brunch menu includes either coffee or tea, depending on the day.

The popular Patricia-fu Khao Man Gai is said to pair tender Sakura-hime dori (brand chicken) with a fragrant sauce, making it a dish that goes perfectly with rice.

They also offer seasonal sweets such as pudding and tarts.

The "Anko-san Tower" in the photo is a winter-only menu item. It uses naturally fermented shokupan (Japanese milk bread) and tsubuan (chunky sweet red bean paste) with a mild sweetness. The butter that soaks into the toast is said to be irresistible.

Lasagna! The pasta, sauce, cheese... everything is the best. It was so good I could have eaten 2. I enjoyed it with white wine♪Pato's coffee is a must, so I had a strawberry tart to go with it. The crispy tart was wrapped in strawberries that were soft and not too sweet. This was great too♪I had a wonderful lunch time!

I ordered the Otona no Banana Shake. It combines banana and espresso, so I was curious and ordered it while half wondering... do those really go together...? As it turned out, they go really well. It is different from choco-banana, and the bitterness and depth of the espresso blend with the banana into a mellow flavor...

Shutaku Cafe

Shutaku Cafe is about a 10-minute walk from JR Matoba Station, and it is built around the concept of “Putting gratitude into shape. A cafe that connects to the future.” Its stylish look with green ivy climbing the exterior is part of its charm, and it also has an open terrace that looks very comfortable.

You can visit for a wide range of occasions, from Breakfast and lunch to cafe time.

The coffee also gets good reviews, made with beans from the Dutch coffee brand Douwe Egberts.

The iced coffee comes in three size options, and a nice bonus is that the price stays the same no matter which one you choose. It has a refreshing taste with a slight acidity, and is said to be easy to drink.

The food focuses on local production for local consumption, and you can enjoy plates made with a variety of ingredients. They also offer popular menu items from the group’s restaurants, including pasta and curry from the Hawaii restaurant and Wagyu Hamburger Steak from their sister restaurants in Japan.

Many people also enjoy the lunch menu, which comes with a salad buffet.

I went for Breakfast. Since it was around Christmas, the inside of the cafe looked very cute. I was happy that I could size up my coffee for the same price, and it came in a pretty large glass. I recommend Breakfast, and the lunch buffet was also very good, so I recommend that too! I think it is a nice cafe.

For a weekday lunch, I went to the much talked about Shuutaku Cafe. The interior is bright, stylish, and filled with greenery. I chose the option with the salad buffet. Luckily, there were muffins in the buffet corner too♪ They were moist and tasty. My main dish was the American chicken burger. The big crispy chicken, the vegetables, and the sauce were all incredibly good!

"Starbucks Coffee Kawagoe Kanetsuki-dori Ten" is a coffee chain cafe from Seattle in the United States, located near Toki no Kane (Time Bell), the symbol of Kawagoe.

The drink selection centers on coffee, with a wide range of options including tea and cocoa. There are also limited time menu items.

The food menu is also full and pairs well with the drinks. The sandwich options are perfect not only as a snack but also for a light lunch.

There is also a wide selection of easygoing treats like donuts, scones, and cakes, making them just what you will want to order when you get tired from walking around.

手乗りジャガー

A Starbucks near Toki no Kane (Time Bell Tower). The interior has a Japanese style design so it does not spoil the atmosphere of the old kura (storehouse) town. There is terrace seating in two areas: a covered terrace where you can drink coffee while looking at the greenery, and a terrace where you can relax while looking out on a Japanese garden. Coffee on the terrace tastes a little different, in a good way.

This shop stands on Kane-tsuki Dori (Bell Tower Street), a place you could call the heart of Koedo Kawagoe, and its exterior has a lot of charm. It is a short walk from Toki no Kane (Time Bell Tower), and I stopped in for Breakfast coffee. The hot coffee warmed me up a bit after the chill, and I enjoyed its steady, good taste.

On the second floor of a complex facility right near the station. We used the terrace seats today. There is also an adjacent parking lot, and the first hour is free. There are also many restaurants and other shops in the facility, which was convenient. I ordered the classic iced coffee! It was a great meal.

The interior was calm and had a nice atmosphere. It might be a good place to stop by when you have some free time. There are a lot of counter seats, but the chairs have space behind the backrest where you can put your bags, so it did not feel cramped. The matcha latte had fine foam and just the right sweetness, and it was very tasty. I already liked Tully's, but this made me like it even more.
