B² Kichijoji Ten

“B² Kichijoji Ten” is a new industrial cafe with a bakery and coffee roasting facility.

The cafe features large glass windows, creating an open space filled with natural light. It also has open terrace seating, where you can enjoy an elegant tea time.

The "Avocado Toast," topped with avocado on moist, chewy bread, is a brunch menu item available only on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

It comes generously topped with freshly shaved cheese. For an additional charge, you can also add scrambled eggs seasoned with salt and pepper.

The "Lamington" here is said to be a traditional Australian sweet.

It is a sponge cake coated in chocolate and coconut, with cream sandwiched inside. When you take a bite, the soft coconut aroma and the gentle sweetness of the chocolate go well together, making it very tasty.

・A sandwich with Daisen Ham and Brie cheese
The ham sandwich was served on soft bread with the aroma of olive oil, like focaccia, and it tasted great with the smooth cheese.

I went first thing in the morning, and there were quite a few people there, maybe because hotel guests also use it. I was able to enjoy a nice, elegant morning with delicious bread. I think it’s a good place to stop by when you’re a little hungry. It’s a hidden gem.

Hachiju Hachiya

Hachiju Hachiya is a cafe restaurant about a 5-minute walk from Kichijoji Station, built around the concept of "body-friendly meals and drinks."

The spacious interior with its high ceilings has a modern, stylish feel. There is also open terrace seating, and the relaxing space is one of the reasons for its popularity.

The "Steamed Chicken and Colorful Vegetable Salad Plate with sansho (Japanese pepper) sesame dressing" is a popular lunch menu item that lets you enjoy plenty of seasonal vegetables.

The sauce, with the sharp heat of sansho, brings out the good flavor of the ingredients. It also has just the right volume, so it feels nice and satisfying to eat!

At dinnertime, you can enjoy Hachiju Hachiya’s specialty takikomi gohan (seasoned rice cooked with ingredients).

This is the “Hotate (scallop) and shishito pepper salt-seasoned takikomi gohan (with nori tsukudani (seaweed simmered in soy sauce))” that was served during a certain period. It is said to be an exquisite dish with a great balance of the savory flavor and sweetness of the scallops, the texture of the shishito peppers, and the fresh aroma of mi sansho (Japanese peppercorns).

・Hachiju-hachiya shun yasai (seasonal vegetables) salad plate
As the name says, the seasonal vegetables were satisfying, but the steamed chicken was not just an extra, it was good enough to be a main. The seasoning was gentle. It also came with whole wheat bread and black sesame bread, and it was so filling that I was not hungry even by dinnertime.

The seasonal vegetable salad was beautifully colorful, and the vegetables themselves were all sweet and full of flavor. The Iwanaka-buta (Iwanaka pork) miso cheese tagine Hot Pot steamed dish had an excellent balance of miso, cheese, pork, and toumyou (pea shoots). For the fish, I ordered sawara (Spanish mackerel). The sawara was rich and fatty, and I could enjoy it with plenty of sauce, which left me very Manzoku.

Original Pancake House Kichijoji Ten

Original Pancake House Kichijoji Ten is a cafe that specializes in pancakes.

Located on the 1st floor of Kichijoji Marui, it has plenty of open terrace seating and an airy, open feel. Of course the signature pancakes are popular, but many people also come for the Dutch Baby and French toast.

The popular menu item "Dutch Baby" is a German-style pancake baked in the oven. The staff finish it right in front of you with whipped butter, powdered sugar, and lemon, and that live presentation is part of the appeal.

It is said to have a deliciously addictive texture, crisp on the outside and pleasantly chewy inside.

Alongside the pancakes, the five kinds of "soup pasta" are also a hot topic.

The "Rich Tomato and Garlic Creamy Pasta" is known for its rich tomato sauce with a nice garlic kick. It is said that dipping focaccia into the leftover soup and enjoying every last drop is the best way to finish it.

The shop has both outdoor and indoor seating, and while there are plenty of seats, it is also a popular place and is often crowded. This time, I ordered pancakes, and they were very soft, easy to eat, and delicious. I would like to go again.

Since it was lunchtime, we ordered two kinds of pasta and pancakes for dessert. The pasta had a surprisingly strong punch compared with the impression of the restaurant, and I personally thought it was very good. The garlicky flavor was nice. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty too.

Inside, natural light pours in through the large windows, creating a comfortable natural space with wooden furniture and houseplants. There is also open terrace seating, where you can relax and spend time while enjoying the outdoor air.

The recommendation is the "gluten free curry's yakuzen curry (medicinal spice curry)," made by blending seasonal vegetables and simmering them down.

It uses plenty of spices and ground meat, making it a dish where you can directly enjoy the good flavor and richness of the ingredients. You can also add a fried egg topping for an extra charge.

The "Naokichi Original Douhua (Taiwanese tofu pudding)" is popular as a body friendly sweet treat.

It is loaded with toppings, and the chewy taro yuan made with Okinawan imo-kuzu (sweet potato starch) has a soft, smooth texture. There are two types, a warm version and a cold version, so it is nice that you can choose based on how you feel that day.

I ordered the crispy chocolate ice cream. The ice cream was pretty refreshing. It went well with the sweetness of the chocolate sauce. It had lots of crispy chocolate pieces in it, and the texture was great. It was delicious! It was a great meal!

・Yakuzen curry (medicinal spice curry), a gluten-free curry
This medicinal spice curry especially stands out for its clove aroma. It pairs really well with multigrain rice, which has great flavor and texture! The side dishes are authentic too, with carrot achar and spiced potatoes seasoned with cumin.

Cafe Mimi

A hideaway-style French cafe located a 7-minute walk from Kichijoji Station.

French pop music plays inside, and the gentle atmosphere created by the antique-style interior, handwritten menus, and French knickknacks is part of the charm. On nice days, the open terrace seating is especially popular!

The "Croissant Set" is a popular Breakfast menu item.

The buttery croissant is said to have an irresistible crisp and light texture. It also pairs perfectly with the café au lait, which is served in a large café au lait bowl. It also comes with a bright orange juice that lifts your mood.

The photo shows the lunch dish “Today’s Quiche, served with salad and baguette.”

On this day, it was “homemade bacon and spinach quiche.” The appareil (custard filling) was packed with plenty of spinach, while the pâte brisée (shortcrust pastry) base had a crisp, light finish that brought out the good flavor of the ingredients.

I ordered a café au lait and French toast. I was Surprising that the café au lait came in a huge bowl-like cup!!!!!The French toast was light and airy, and it was best eaten with the ice cream. It was also nice that orange juice came with the set(^o^)

The couscous comes in a generous portion, and the vegetables are cut into big chunks. Add the seasonings served alongside it, and it tastes just like the real thing. It is easy to see why almost everyone orders the couscous. The café au lait also comes in a generous French-style serving. You can enjoy the atmosphere of a French café.

The "Eggs Benedict B.L.T." uses house made soufflé pancakes.

The thick cut bacon, fresh tomato, and egg go very well with the house made Hollandaise sauce. You can also change the soufflé pancakes to English muffins.

食いしん坊ワイワイ

You could call them refined pancakes, or maybe it is just the fluffy feel that comes through from the way they look. They are simple fluffy pancakes topped with fresh cream and a little extra. More like pancakes, or maybe mini cakes, they were sweet, stylish, and delicious.

・Crazy Cookies & Cream
This rich ice cream is packed with crunchy cookies, making it a fun one for texture. It is on the sweeter side, but the toasty flavor of the cookies adds a nice accent, so it goes down easily to the last bite.

Laguna-marfa

The large Boston cookie is a big cookie with a slightly chewy texture. When you eat it with ice cream and caramel sauce, it feels satisfyingly substantial and has a junk food kind of taste, but that is what makes it so good. It comes with a serious sense of guilt, but the pairing of the cookie and ice cream is definitely a winner.

I had the new blueberry cream cheese doughnut! The balance of flavors is excellent. Low chairs, terrace seating, a space where you can talk at ease... and the service is polite overall, so you can order in a calm, relaxed way.

Although it is on the 4th floor of a small building and may feel a little hard to enter, the cafe itself is a very lovely space. The service was also good, and I had a very pleasant time.
