Popular spots for sweet treats in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture!

Cafe Restaurant Mille Foglia

Cafe Restaurant Millefoglia is known for its open and spacious setting. It also has a chic atmosphere.

The sweets are made by the hotel pastry chef. It is on the 1st floor of Keisei Hotel Miramare, right next to Keisei Railway's Chiba-Chuo Station.

The signature sweet named after the hotel is "Miramare." It is a roll cake filled with cream and various fruits.

The flower decoration on top is beautiful too. If you order it as a cake set, it comes with a drink.

Depending on the time of day, they offer an "Afternoon Tea Set," available in two versions: one with sandwiches and one with fruit.

Both sets come with two cakes of your choice, along with muffins and cookies. Of course, you can also choose from drinks including coffee and tea.

・Miramare/Gateau chocolat
The roll cake "Miramare" is still as nicely firm as ever, and it tastes great too! The gateau chocolat also had a very mild flavor, or rather, it was a cake with the kind, gentle sweetness I really like! The cream on top is delicious too. Ahh, this makes me happy.

SiKiTO CAFE

SiKiTO CAFE is built around the concept of "a cafe that cherishes the changing seasons," and it feels like a garden where you can take a relaxing break.

The simple, modern interior is decorated with seasonal plants, and it also has terrace seating. It is a 14-minute walk from JR Kaihin-Makuhari Station.

The “Kisetsu Fruits no Mascarpone Daifuku” uses seasonal fruit at its best. On the day a Tabelog reviewer visited, it was made with figs.

Imo kenpi (candied sweet potato sticks) are arranged around the daifuku, with a coffee bean on top. The contrast with the daifuku’s softness really stands out.

This sweet is actually a parfait. It is served as a glass parfait in a horizontal style. The toppings vary by season, and in some cases it comes topped with kanroni (sweet simmered) satsumaimo (Japanese sweet potato).

They also offer a “Seasonal Ice Cream Selection” and a wide variety of cakes.

・Seasonal fruit mascarpone daifuku (soft rice cake)
It has a soft and chewy texture with crunchy coffee beans! The imo-kenpi (crispy sweet potato sticks) around it are nice and crunchy too. The iced cafe latte is tasty too.

Amandan Sail

Amandan Sail, a 3-minute walk from JR Chiba-Minato Station, is a place where you can enjoy sweets in Chiba’s ocean resort area.

The view from the windows is said to feel like looking out from a luxury cruise ship moored along the shore. It’s a spot that really suits the phrase "a seaside mansion."

This shop is sometimes used as a wedding venue, where you can enjoy sweets created by the pastry chef who handles the food for those events.

The showcase is lined with sweets in many different styles, making it hard to choose just one.

If you go with the "Special Premium Full Course," the dessert menu includes the "Sweets Selection 10-kind assortment."

A variety of sweets, including tarts, roll cake, and jelly, are gathered on one plate. Depending on the course, you may also be able to choose a format with 5 or 7 kinds.

Kote Cafe

Kotecafe is a cafe run by a housing company in Chiba. Since the company also works on home remodeling and renovation, the atmosphere inside the cafe is lovely.

They also have terrace seating. It is a 5-minute drive from the Anagawa IC on the Keiyo Road, and there is shared parking for a total of 37 cars across 3 parking areas.

The thickly baked fluffy "Pancake." Just as the name suggests, you eat the soft textured batter with plenty of maple sauce poured over it.

If you order it as a set with a drink, you can get it at a better price. There are also several cakes lined up in the display case.

You will also want to try the shop’s namesake “Jikasei Name-raka Kote Purin (homemade smooth firm pudding).” This pudding brings together a rich egg flavor and slightly bitter caramel sauce.

They also offer seasonal baked sweets made with ingredients at their best, making them a good choice as souvenirs from the cafe.

It smelled nice and toasty from the moment it was served, and the simple look was lovely. I poured on the syrup, let the butter melt, cut it into bite-size pieces, and enjoyed it.

・Afternoon Tea Set
The sweets and savory items use refreshing ingredients such as orange, mango, grapefruit, and mint, and they look gorgeous and full of seasonal feel. The "kamomīru to hachimitsu no orenji macarons (orange macarons with chamomile and honey)" stood out in particular, with their soft, gentle sweetness, and became my favorite.
