Tricolore Honten, about a 3-minute walk from Tokyo Metro's Ginza Station and Higashi-Ginza Station, is a kissaten (traditional Japanese coffee shop) with a long history dating back to 1936. It is popular for its carefully selected coffee and desserts.
The restaurant is said to charm guests with its classic exterior that recalls a European cafe, and its retro interior marked by red chairs and stained glass.
Photograph:おきくグルメ
The coffee served here is said to use beans harvested in the high mountains of Central and South America.
Using a hand drip with a neru (cloth filter), they carefully brew each cup after the order is placed. Among them, the recommended choice is their original "Antique Blend Coffee," which aims for a mellow, nostalgic style.

Along with your coffee, you will also want to enjoy the house-made sweets, such as apple pie and cheesecake.
The photo shows the "eclair," which is said to pair perfectly with the "Antique Blend Coffee." They fill it with cream after you order and finish it with chocolate, making it a dish with a crisp, crunchy texture.

The interior has a classic, stately feel, and the red sofas, wooden furniture, and stained glass are all lovely. With its calm atmosphere, it feels like stepping into an old European cafe, making it easy to relax and take your time. The coffee was aromatic and carefully brewed, and I was able to enjoy the kind of luxurious time you only get at a kissaten (Japanese-style coffee shop).

The apple pie that arrived had beautifully browned pastry. When a fork cut into it, it made a light, crisp sound, and soft stewed apples appeared from inside. The apples were not overly sweet, had a nice level of tartness, and a light cinnamon aroma gently spread through each bite.

Inside, the table seating has a design that looks like records, and the space is said to have a nostalgic, cozy feel.

For those with a sweet tooth, Blanc et Noir Kohaku no Joou is a perfect choice. Reviews also praise it for feeling like a refined dessert drink.
It stands out for the sweetness and mellow richness of milk, and its stylish look is part of the appeal as well.
うどん人間
The interior is wrapped in the fragrant aroma of roasted coffee beans and the warmth of wood, creating a calm atmosphere that feels as if it has preserved the air of the Showa era 그대로. Including the antique furniture and the photos lining the walls, it feels just like a small coffeehouse museum. It is recommended for those who want to take their time and simply enjoy the coffee itself.

When I said I wanted a dark roast to drink with milk, they recommended two kinds of coffee. The Guatemala had a relatively clean finish, and though it was dark roasted, it had a rich chocolate and nut-like depth. It was just the kind of coffee I like, so I was satisfied, and Manzoku. Adding milk gave it a different flavor again, and I enjoyed it all the way to the last sip.

Kissa Pupe has been a beloved kissaten (Japanese-style coffee shop) in Kanda, Tokyo, since opening in 1970. Its Western-style dishes, including its special curry, are popular.
The interior has a warm, somewhat nostalgic feel, and the space is said to be calm and relaxing, where time seems to pass slowly. There is seating on the 1st and 2nd floors.

They take pride in serving homemade items, from their original blend coffee to dishes that are perfect for lunch.
At lunchtime, they offer a full lineup of meal dishes that come with coffee or tea, including a good selection of spaghetti dishes such as meat sauce and Napolitan (Japanese-style ketchup spaghetti).

One of this restaurant's signature dishes is the "Pupe Tokusei Curry," which has often been featured in the media.
This thick curry is said to be fruity and delicious. The moderate level of spice seems to add a nice accent.
ポンホコOYJ
The interior has a very calm feel, like a classic old-school kissaten (Japanese coffee shop). The chairs and tables also have a retro look. I ordered the curry. It had the tang and richness of a European-style curry, with aromas like coffee and chocolate. The beef was also stewed until tender and was very delicious.

・Pupe tokusei kare (Pupe special curry)
You can clearly tell that the vegetables and meat have been simmered until they turn tender and melt into the curry. This is really good〜. It is so tasty that you just keep eating one bite after another. The fried egg is cooked just right, with a rich runny yolk. It makes the curry milder, and that is great too.

At lunchtime, they offer Homemade yoshoku (Western-style Japanese) dishes made with carefully chosen cooking methods.
The hugely popular "Napolitan" gets its edge from an extra step that adds depth of flavor. They thin the reduced sauce with pasta water, creating a plate that coats the noodles well.
Photograph:公民館とROBOT
All lunch sets come with soup, salad, and a free drink. The "Omurice" is also a popular dish with a wide range of age groups, from kids to adults.
Ketchup rice is tucked inside the soft, runny egg, and it seems to go very well with the light sauce.

The Napolitan (Japanese ketchup pasta) was on the firmer side, like ordering ramen noodles al dente. The tomato sauce coated it nicely and it was tasty. I like breaking the egg partway through and mixing it in. I really enjoyed it. I’ll be back!

I chose the chicken cutlet curry from the three lunch options. Lunch also comes with a mini salad and soup, so it's a great value. There was even a boiled egg under the cutlet! That was a nice touch♪The smooth curry had no chunks in it, but the spices came through nicely and even made me break a slight sweat. The portion of rice was generous too, and it left me quite full. I finished everything and had an iced coffee at the end.

Overall, everything is made with care, the sweetness is kept moderate, and it is an easy-to-enjoy sweets shop that adults can appreciate too. I recommend it for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy sweets or tea in Azabu-juban (Azabu-Juban).

Ogura toast uses a generous amount of homemade tsubuan (chunky sweet red bean paste) made only with premium Tanba Dainagon azuki beans. The carefully simmered Dainagon beans have a beautiful shape, with refined sweetness and a surprisingly light finish. Paired with fragrant toasted bread, rich butter, and just the right touch of salt, it creates a perfect balance of sweetness, saltiness, and toasty aroma in one dish✨

Kissa Coniwa is a coffee shop just a 1-minute walk from Nishi-Ogikubo Station in Suginami, Tokyo. It is popular for desserts that look so good you will want to take photos, with presentation that is as enjoyable as the taste.
The building, renovated from a former watch shop, features an open atrium structure and a stylish antique-inspired space.

There are about three dessert options, and all of them are said to be good. Recommended for cafe time or dessert after a meal.
The photo shows the “Kuroi Chiizukeeki (Black Cheesecake).” It is said to have a rich cheese flavor within a slight bitterness, with a smooth mouthfeel as its defining feature.

At lunchtime, the "meal set" that comes with salad and a drink is a great choice. You can pick from several options, including curry and risotto.
The "lu rou fan (Taiwanese braised pork rice)," a one-plate Taiwanese street food dish, is said to be a healthy plate served with multigrain rice.

The black cheesecake has a moist texture. The rich dark cacao flavor fills your mouth✨Eating it with zarame (coarse sugar) brings out the sweetness even more‼︎The caramel sauce and light cream are perfect for changing up the flavor. The flowers around it are cute too. The music also feels stylish and matches the shop’s classic atmosphere♪

First of all, the pudding looks absolutely stunning! It really feels like a visual kei pudding. This is the kind of dessert that makes you want to take a photo. But it is not just about looks. One sip in, and it was clearly a delicious coffee with a real sweetness and richness. It said it was known for its deep bitterness, but to me it felt more like a rich, full-bodied depth. It was so good. And the pudding was exactly my kind of dessert! The pudding itself had a rich flavor and a firmness that was not too hard. The whipped cream was a little on the sweet side, and the balance was perfect. lol
