Mawashi Zushi Katsu Katsumidori Seibu Shibuya Ten

Mawashi Zushi Katsu Katsumidori Seibu Shibuya Ten is a kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurant with multiple locations in the Tokyo metropolitan area. It is a 1-minute walk from Exit A6-C via Shibuya Chikamichi (Shibuya underground passage), and is located on the 8th floor of Seibu Shibuya Ten.

The restaurant has a bright and lively atmosphere, making it a fun place to enjoy a meal.

One thing that sets the sushi at this restaurant apart is that it uses freshly prepared toppings. You can also choose premium ingredients like otoro (fatty tuna) and uni (sea urchin).

The toppings are fairly large while the shari (sushi rice) is kept small, so you can really enjoy the full flavor of the fish.

Creative sushi such as aburi sushi (seared sushi), tempura, and mayonnaise-topped varieties are also popular. There is also a wide range of recommended seasonal dishes and à la carte options.

Many reviews also said they liked that, even though it is kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi), the sushi is made to order each time.

The maguro (tuna) had a beautiful color and the clean umami you expect from lean tuna, making it easy to enjoy as the first plate. The salmon dishes had a rich sweetness from the fat, while the green onion salt style condiments kept the finish from feeling too heavy, so they stayed easy to enjoy through the end.

I’ve ordered the ara-ni (simmered fish scraps) several times, but this day’s was the best yet, and the kabuto (fish head) was unbelievably good. The ara-ni takes a little longer to arrive, so it’s best to order it early. As for the sushi, the flavor of the raw fish toppings was a bit light, so the aburi iwashi (seared sardine) and engawa (flounder fin) Combo was exactly what I wanted and absolutely the best. It had great fat and was as tasty as ever.

I got to enjoy some really good sushi. The hamachi (young yellowtail) tororo gunkan and toro-taku, along with the shrimp, were especially tasty. The miso soup with shrimp heads, which is usually sold out, had a rich concentrated shrimp flavor and was very good. If you like shrimp, definitely order it if you see it on the menu.

You can casually enjoy really good sushi here! It usually seems to have a line, but I got in smoothly because I came right after it opened. The sushi was great, and the small plates were also really tasty. They had a solid drink selection, even wine, so being able to have drinks at lunch was the best!

First, the ara-jiru (fish head and bone soup). It is full of fish flavor and makes for a comforting bowl. There are 5 plates of nigiri (hand-formed sushi). As you would expect from a tuna wholesaler, the balance of fresh toppings and value is good. You can drop in without any fuss for a quick meal, and still have the peace of mind of getting properly good sushi.

I ordered the 3-type tasting comparison. I was Surprising by how delicious the maguro (tuna) was, with no off notes or watery texture and a nice sweetness in the fat! I tried both the sushi I ordered and the sushi moving along the lane, and the overall quality was high, with no bad picks no matter what I ate.

Tenka Zushi Shibuya Dogenzaka Ten

Tenka Zushi Shibuya Dogenzaka Ten is a kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurant in the Dogenzaka area, about a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station on (Each) line. It also has sister locations in Ikebukuro and Kichijoji, in addition to Shibuya.

What you can enjoy at this restaurant is sushi made with plenty of seasonal neta (toppings). Of course the fish is popular, but so are shellfish and crustaceans such as shrimp and squid.

The photo shows hokkigai (surf clam), a specialty of Hokkaido. It is said to be thick and pleasantly crunchy, with lots of umami.

The photo shows temaki-zushi (hand-rolled sushi) wrapped in Mitsuboshi nori (premium seaweed). The crisp texture of the nori and the fresh toppings make a great combination.

The limited-time fair menu items and the dishes written on the in-store recommendation board are also popular.

The neta (sushi toppings) here stand out for their shellfish. The lineup includes hokkigai (surf clam), katsubugai (live whelk), and akagai (ark shell clam). In terms of balance between price and taste, hokkigai is my favorite. The katsubugai, just removed from the shell, is among the highest priced items at this restaurant.

The plump shrimp are sweet and have a bright aroma. Sometimes the squid is tender and plump, and other times it has a firmer bite. It depends on the type of squid. One of the fun things about squid is how the texture changes depending on the cut. Today's squid had a crisp texture, then as I kept chewing it, it melted and turned sweeter. That was great too. It also paired really well with the body temperature shari (sushi rice), which made me smile.

The side menu is also extensive, with not just sushi but also noodle dishes like udon and ramen, plus fried items and desserts.

The noodle dishes have a nice level of saltiness and satisfying volume, making them perfect to eat in between bites of sushi.

なつモグ★

When I looked at the menu for the first time, I was Surprising at how affordable it was. Another nice point is that the dishes zip over on the express lane, which makes it feel reassuringly hygienic. Every piece of neta (sushi topping) was delicious, but what surprised me most was the quality of the shari (sushi rice). It was glossy and nicely airy, and the balance of sweetness and acidity was really, really good.

午前0時

You order from your seat using a touch panel. Most of the sushi toppings were ready in about 2 to 3 minutes. The tuna, salmon, shrimp, and everything else was tasty, but the geso mentaimayo aburi (broiled squid legs with pollock roe mayo) and the maguro steak (tuna steak), which you can only eat here, were especially good and really stood out.

東京スウェーデン語学校グルメ部

The Dogenzaka area is packed everywhere, but this place is a real hidden gem! The sushi was very fresh and delicious. The kani miso (crab tomalley) was so reasonably priced that I ordered several extra plates!

GD HOUSE

The first piece served was chutoro (medium fatty tuna). It had just the right amount of fat, with a melt-in-your-mouth softness the moment it hit the palate. The shari (sushi rice) was also at the perfect temperature, with a great balance against the topping. The akami (lean tuna) that followed had a moist, rich flavor, with a nice harmony with its acidity. The aburi sawara (lightly seared Spanish mackerel) (or buri (yellowtail)) stood out for the fragrant aroma of the skin, while the sweetness of the fat spread gently across the palate.

Soft roe, ankimo (monkfish liver), and oysters were all fresh and delicious. Purines are the best. I really have to eat this at least once every winter. And to finish, engawa (flounder fin muscle). I love hirame (olive flounder) engawa. That springy texture is the best. I could eat as many pieces as I want. In fact, I want more. I was totally Manzoku, and It was a great meal.

The beautiful interior with its nice atmosphere was almost full. I ordered the first item on the lunch menu, "Lunch Nigiri with Soup JPY1,188 Tax Included". With 8 pieces of nigiri, it was just the right amount for a light eater like me, tasted good, and was reasonably priced with great value for money. I also appreciated that it came out quickly.

I checked how crowded it was, and it was miraculously empty, so I booked right away and headed over. I love corn, so I ended up ordering a lot of it. It’s nice that you can eat not only sushi but also all kinds of things like takoyaki (octopus balls), ramen, and even dessert. I also had fun with Bikkura Pon and really enjoyed myself.

The tuna was a reliable choice, with a clean taste and an easy to enjoy bite. The aburi items had a nice roasted aroma that stood out, and even for conveyor belt sushi, they felt satisfying. The Hamburger Steak sushi had just the right balance of sweet and savory sauce, and seemed like something both kids and adults could enjoy. Their focus on no additives is also reassuring. Ordering by touch panel was stress free, and the food arrived smoothly.

大福山グルメ

I ordered the three-piece maguro (tuna) set. It comes with 3 kinds, otoro (fatty tuna), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), and akami (lean tuna), and the price is quite reasonable for a kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurant. The taste is good too. The uni (sea urchin) and ikura (salmon roe) were also tasty, with quality that matched the price. The unagi (eel) was large and recommended! There were quite a lot of customers, but there was also plenty of sushi on the belt, and my orders came through quickly

じゅんグルメ

The toppings are relatively large, and you can enjoy a wide range from JPY159 to JPY660 per piece. When I ordered the "aji (horse mackerel)," I was told there were two sizes, regular and large, so I chose the large. The regular is JPY159, while the large is JPY330. As you can tell from the photo, the large size has a big topping and is very filling. Including aji, some items are not listed on the menu, so be sure to check with the staff.
