Hayama Torigin Komegahama-dori Ten is a restaurant near Yokosuka-Chuo Station, located in a retro dining district that still has the feel of the 1950s. It specializes in kama-meshi (rice cooked in a small iron pot), and at night you can also enjoy it as an izakaya.
The standalone Japanese-style building features a tiled roof and wooden pillars. Inside, the old house-style interior creates a calm and relaxing space.

Yakitori is a popular snack menu item that goes well with alcohol. It is grilled with a sauce made by adding to the seasonings for about 30 years, using Domestic chicken.
The "tsukune (chicken meatball skewer)," made by kneading ground chicken and shaping it around a skewer, is said to taste even better when eaten with egg yolk sauce.
Photograph:Metele
The signature kamameshi (rice cooked in an individual iron pot) is made by cooking rice with dashi broth and toppings in a small pot made just for one serving.
There is a wide variety, including kamameshi topped with Hayama-gyu (Hayama beef), crab, and ikura (salmon roe). It is also perfect as a finishing meal after drinks.
ViViRee
The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) isn’t served rare like at high-end places, but it’s juicy and tastes better than the price would suggest♡The kamameshi (rice cooked in an iron pot) is made to order after you place it, so I recommend ordering it early♡The autumn gomoku kamameshi (five-ingredient iron-pot rice) was topped with chicken soboro (seasoned ground chicken), salmon, mushrooms, and sweet, fluffy chestnuts, and this was also very delicious♡

Once you pass through there, you come to this restaurant with an impressive presence. To start, beer and a yakitori (grilled chicken skewer) assortment. The plump yakitori had a great bite and deep flavor, and it was delicious. They also have sashimi assortment, whole onion, and more, plus a pretty good lineup of Japanese sake. It’s a spacious place where you can relax and enjoy your meal slowly.

Go no Go Yokosuka Chuo Ten is an izakaya (Japanese pub) located along the arcade shopping street right in front of Yokosuka-Chuo Station. It stays open from daytime until late at night, so you can stop by for izakaya fare anytime.
The interior has a casual Japanese style. One highlight is the large mural on the wall depicting Mt. Fuji and the sea of Yokosuka.
Photograph:シバヤン
The menu has a full lineup of casual dishes made with pork. One of them is yakiton (grilled pork skewers), pork grilled on skewers like yakitori.
They grill different cuts of pork separately, and it is also recommended to eat them with spicy miso. Ton-soku (simmered pig's feet), made by slowly cooking the pig's feet until tender, is also popular.
You can also try kaisen butsu (small cut pieces of fresh seafood). The "Butsu assortment," which includes tuna, octopus, scallops, and more, also stands out because it is served in a wooden masu (square wooden cup).
You can also enjoy a good deal on large size alcoholic drinks called "Mega Jockey."

After joining a walking event, we stopped by for daytime drinks. For drinks, I ordered a tomato chu-hai in a mega mug. We ordered tulip fried chicken, a yakiton assortment, a butsu assortment, and chicken skin gyoza, among other things. Everything was good, and we left feeling full. I’d like to stop by again if I have the chance.

As always, we ordered the seasoned quail eggs, tulip Kara-age chicken, and the assorted yakiton (grilled pork skewers). For drinks, we skipped the beer, and I had a Mega Setouchi Lemon Lemonade Sour. The yakiton was grilled just right and tasted great. Even the potato salad was unusual, topped with katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes), and was very good.

Miura no Daidokoro Tetsu is an izakaya (Japanese gastropub) about an 8-minute walk from Yokosuka-Chuo Station, near the Honcho 1-chome intersection. Here you can enjoy dishes made with ingredients from Kanagawa Prefecture.
The interior has a warm, woody feel, and it is said to be just the right kind of place when you want to eat and drink with a group in a lively atmosphere.
Photograph:miyukixxx
The signature dish is “Misaki Maguro Kabuto-yaki (grilled tuna head)”. Misaki Fishing Port in Kanagawa is a base for deep-sea tuna fishing vessels. Thanks to that local connection, they source many different cuts of tuna.
Kabuto refers to the impressive head portion. The staff will flake it apart for you so it is easy to eat.
Photograph:るぱん7
The food menu centers on maguro (tuna) from Misaki and Kuroge Wagyu "Hayama-gyu (Hayama beef)," raised on the Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture. They also offer dishes where you grill the maguro and beef yourself on a heated stone slab.
The All you can drink course is also popular, and includes rare labels of Japanese sake and shochu.

We reserved a course meal before visiting. Since we came with a group of 4, we received a complimentary grilled half head of maguro (tuna). The maguro and Hayama-gyu (Hayama beef) in the course were served in various dishes and were very good. Even when we flaked the meat off the tuna head, it came away tenderly in chunks, making it very satisfying to eat, and it was also very delicious.

Partway through the course, a huge maguro no kama (tuna collar) made an appearance. They brought it out for photos, then carved it up for us. It was rich and fatty, and I found myself thinking, so this is what people mean by good fat, as I happily dug in. The meat was tender and juicy, with no off notes, and very tasty. It went great with the drinks. Of course the sashimi was excellent, and the Hayama gyu (Hayama beef) was also very good.

The kushiyaki (grilled skewers) menu is extensive. They skewer a range of ingredients like chicken, pork, and beef, then grill them over charcoal.
The grilled skewers made with Kanagawa brand beef such as Hayama-gyu (Hayama beef) and Miura-gyu (Miura beef) are also said to be tender, easy to eat, and delicious.

They also offer sashimi assortment made with fresh seafood. The large and sweet Tenshi no Ebi (Angel Shrimp) is served with the body raw, while the head and tail are fried for you to enjoy.
You can also drink Oppaba Rai Ginger, a ginger-forward drink that has become a local specialty in the Oppama area.
サダさだ
This restaurant stands out for the owner’s deep knowledge of ingredients and sake, along with a strong commitment to quality. The Hayama gyu (Hayama beef) kushiyaki (grilled skewers) is very tender, with rich beef flavor that really comes through and leaves a deep impression. The Tenshi no Ebi (Angel Prawn) sashimi is rare and hard to find, and its flavor is outstanding, with a rich taste even when served raw. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also pleasant, and the staff provided good service, which made it a comfortable place to spend time.

Yakitori Furi is an izakaya mainly serving yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), located near the park in front of Yokosuka City Hall. This restaurant has been in business for about 30 years.

The signature yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is cooked over binchotan (high quality charcoal). It picks up a nice smoky aroma and stays juicy as it cooks.
People say every yakitori skewer is delicious, and some of the popular kushiyaki (grilled skewers) sell out on certain days, so it is best to visit earlier in the day.

"Tsukune" is a dish made from ground chicken formed into balls and skewered. It contains nankotsu (cartilage) inside, giving it a nice crunchy texture.
They also have a good selection of Japanese sake, and seem to source Special bottles from all over Japan. You can also try a daily tasting of 3 recommended varieties.

Kawa-kushi (chicken skin skewer). They also have tare sauce, but I’m firmly on the salt side. The thick skin has a crisp texture, making it a one-of-a-kind dish you won’t find elsewhere. Once you try it, it’s an unforgettable kind of good. 【Tebasaki (chicken wings)・Tsukune (chicken meatballs)】The tebasaki are served with the bones removed. They really take care of everything…. The balance of skin and meat is great, with a nice toasty flavor. And don’t underestimate the tsukune either.

The staff provide polite and pleasant service, making this a very comfortable place to dine. Every skewer is excellent, but the quail eggs and tsukune (chicken meatball skewer) come especially recommended and are so consistently good that I order them every time. "Kaisen Izakaya Ryu" is an izakaya near the western exit of Kurihama Station, close to the tip of the Miura Peninsula in Yokosuka. It mainly serves seafood dishes.

They source fish with rich umami that is unique to that season from all over Japan. It is very fresh, and you can also enjoy its plump, springy texture.
Their specialty is large aji (horse mackerel) landed at Hashirimizu in Yokosuka. Because it is so fresh, it has very few off notes even when served raw.
Photograph:りっか0403
They also serve meat dishes such as "Soy Sauce Grilled Spare Ribs" and "Salt Grilled Beef Tongue." The restaurant is known for tasty meat dishes as well as fish.
There is also a plan where you can add only All you can drink to the dishes you like. It includes draft beer, umeshu (plum wine), and non-alcoholic cocktails, making it a good choice for those who want to drink a lot.

There are two kinds of namero: fresh fish namero and tuna namero. The absolute recommendation here is the fresh fish namero. As for the look, it is bigger than a kendama, likely shaped with a large ice cream disher. When you try it, there are no off notes at all, yet a pleasant aroma of blue-backed fish rises through your nose. Needless to say, ginger and soy sauce are a perfect match.

This izakaya is right by Kurihama Station. It is a seafood izakaya, but they also have a solid selection of meat dishes, not just seafood. The sashimi was delicious, and the spare ribs were also very good. The shrimp tempura is JPY490, which is quite reasonable for 4 pieces of shrimp tempura and 1 shiso leaf tempura. There is a wide variety of both food and drinks, and the staff's service was excellent.

HONCH RESTORE is an izakaya located about a 4-minute walk from Yokosuka-Chuo Station. The concept here is “yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), wine, and sound.”
You can watch the cooking right in front of you, and the restaurant has lively counter seats as well as table seating like a beer hall.
Photograph:kairi1766
The interior, with careful attention paid to the sound system, has genreless music playing comfortably throughout. It is also said to have an atmosphere like a music bar.
Inside, there is also a walk-in cellar lit by red lights. A sommelier will choose wine to match your preferences.
The yakitori here mainly uses Daisendori from Tottori Prefecture. They grill it with great care, and you can order from just one skewer.
They also have a full lineup of small plates that go well with wine, as well as sours and shochu (Japanese distilled spirit). The assorted home-style dishes called obanzai (Kyoto-style home cooking) are popular too.
The moment I walked into the restaurant, the music sounded really good. The playlist was great too. I ordered a course meal, and everything came at just the right time, the portions were just right, the plates were lovely, and above all, it was all delicious. Every dish was good. The drinks were good too. I could tell that each item had been made with care. All of the staff looked like they were enjoying their work.

The signature dish is the "Domestic beef motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot)." They carefully prep organ meats centered on symbolic cuts of beef, then simmer them with dashi broth and soy sauce.
Motsu-nabe is one of the famous local dishes of Kyushu and Fukuoka. They add mildly sweet soy sauce from Kyushu and simmer it together with vegetables from Yokosuka.
Photograph:ぺんぎん214
The charcoal grilled skewer menu is also extensive. They also serve yasai-maki (vegetable-wrapped skewers), made by wrapping vegetables and other ingredients in pork and grilling them.
They also have a wide range of alcoholic drinks. There are about 15 kinds of shochu (Japanese distilled spirit), including some rare labels.

This time, the motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot) had a soy sauce based soup. It had such a good flavor, and when it soaked into the cabbage and yamaimo (Japanese mountain yam), it was excellent. Of course, the Horumon was very fresh and nice and plump, and with all kinds of Horumon in it, I really enjoyed it. I had only ever eaten motsu-nabe (Horumon Hot Pot) made with just small intestine, so this one with other kinds of Horumon was interesting. The motsu was juicy and melty, with a really nice sweetness from the fat, and hatsumoto (aorta) added a crunchy texture. I see. I never got tired of eating it! You can enjoy fish, shellfish in the shell, and kani miso (crab tomalley) served in a crab shell. The aroma spreads as it cooks, and another nice point is that you can eat it just the way you like it grilled.

You can enjoy all kinds of seafood dishes, including grilled and simmered dishes made with seafood so fresh it could even be eaten as sashimi.
