In a great location about a 1-minute walk from Sugamo Station, this place has a relaxing atmosphere. Each dish is well made, and the sashimi is cut thick, giving a real sense of Manzoku. The aji fry (fried horse mackerel) comes highly recommended, and it is very tender and nicely plump. When you lift it with chopsticks, the flesh gently flakes apart.

だーよん
We ordered the course menu. The sashimi came in a wide variety, and every piece was delicious. The Beef Tongue that came after that was also tender, and the nanban miso (spicy miso) served on the side was the ultimate snack to go with drinks. The oden (Japanese stew) had a gentle yet rich dashi flavor and tasted great! The drinks were excellent too, and the Japanese sake in the premium All you can drink option was especially easy to drink and fantastic!

Yakiton Takichi Sugamo Ten is in a great location just about a 1-minute walk from Sugamo Station, where you can enjoy waton (Japanese pork) yakiton grilled over bincho-tan (high-grade charcoal) and carefully selected sake.
The bright and homey interior has counter seats that are perfect for solo drinks, as well as table seating that works for a wide range of occasions.
Photograph:SAGA:XILE
The restaurant mainly serves izakaya dishes that go perfectly with drinks, including fried items and Teppan-yaki.
The "Waton yakiton (grilled pork skewers)" is made with meat purchased that very morning and skewered the same day, and it is said to be the kind of flavor that makes drinks go down easy. Popular choices also include the "jikasei tsukune (house-made chicken meatballs)" and "yasai kushiyaki (grilled vegetable skewers)."
Photograph:n189
Among the a la carte dishes that go well with drinks, the especially popular items are from the "Baka-mori (huge portion)" series.
The lineup includes juicy "Baka-mori Kara-age" marinated in house-made seasonings and then fried, as well as crispy "Baka-mori French Fries," and they are said to be packed with volume.
けけのけけ
It was very delicious. In particular, the Hakata (Fukuoka area) mentaiko (spicy cod roe) motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot) was especially good. You can choose from three spice levels, which was great. I chose the mildest level, and it was pleasantly spicy, so it was very easy for me to eat even though I am not good with spicy food.

The yakitori and yakiton (grilled pork skewers) are cheap and tasty. The food also comes out quickly! But what I liked most was the niratama (garlic chive omelet). It tastes like the usual niratama, but it’s really big and very satisfying. I’d like to order it again next time. I left feeling full!

The signature "Hakata motsu-nabe (Hakata-style offal Hot Pot)" uses large beef offal delivered directly from the Shibaura Market. They cut it right in front of you, so you can enjoy watching it being prepared.
The soup has a clean taste that brings out the flavor of the ingredients, and even with the rich, fatty motsu added in, it never feels heavy. Its perfectly balanced depth of flavor is said to be the key.

Wanting to eat Hot Pot, I visited this place near Sugamo (Sugamo) Station after work on Friday. They have nearly 20 kinds of Hot Pot, and although it was hard to choose, I had kamo-negi-nabe (duck and leek Hot Pot). At the end, I finished the Hot Pot with their recommended soba (buckwheat noodles). It is a relatively large restaurant, so I recommend it for groups as well.

I went with the kinoko mizore Hot Pot (mushroom and grated daikon Hot Pot). It was a total hit! Packed with four kinds of mushrooms including eringi (king oyster mushroom) and plenty of vegetables, the refined dashi broth was very gentle on my stomach after the heavy New Year meals. Even the beer had fine, delicate foam, so I ended up ordering another. The otoshi (small appetizer) of fresh raw vegetables was fresh and tasty too.

This is the traditional vinegared rice of Edomae-zushi (Tokyo-style sushi), marked by its faint reddish color and mellow, deep umami. The interior was not too large and had a calm atmosphere, making it easy to feel at home even when dining alone. After some thought, I ordered the eel set meal this time. The eel Rice bowl looked modest at first glance, but once I put my chopsticks in, the flesh was plump, and with each bite, rich flavor spread out from inside.

I snacked on the otoshi (small appetizer served at the start) first and mainly enjoyed the 5-skewer yakiton (grilled pork skewers) assortment. The hugely popular "sengyo assortment (fresh fish assortment)" is a satisfying dish packed with rich flavor from nicely fatty fish. The super fresh sashimi pairs perfectly with Japanese sake.
The menu also offers a wide range of dishes that go well with drinks, including fried dishes, simmered dishes, and kushiyaki (grilled skewers).

The courses recommended for Banquets such as welcome parties and Farewell party gatherings come with All you can drink. Starting with beer, they offer a wide selection of more than 80 kinds of drinks, including shochu (Japanese distilled spirit) and sours.
The meal starts with standard Appetizers and includes a fresh assortment of today’s sashimi and dessert, making it enjoyable to the very end and very filling.

A hearty volume of grilled jumbo shrimp skewers and a fried food assortment. A course with 3 hours of All you can drink. Rather than a quick stop, we settled in and drank all the way to the end.

The 10-dish course with All you can drink including draft beer is JPY2980, so the value is excellent. The food was decent, but the staff service was very good, and I especially liked how quickly they brought extra drinks.

Sakanaya Dojo Uosen Suisan Sugamo Ekimae Ten is a restaurant where you can enjoy fresh local fish from around Japan and a carefully selected lineup of Japanese sake. It is in a great location, just steps from the north exit of Sugamo Station.
The interior has a warm feel of wood and features 36 seats of Sunken kotatsu seating. Private room options are also available for parties of 2 or more.

Popular for seafood dishes made with fresh fish delivered directly from Toyosu (Tokyo’s seafood market). The sashimi assortment is served freshly cut from fish kept in the tank.
The “Sashimi 7-item assortment” also includes hon-maguro (bluefin tuna), and it is said to be highly satisfying.
They always have more than 15 kinds of Japanese sake on hand. They also offer a wide range of à la carte dishes and seasonal dishes that pair perfectly with drinks.
The popular "salmon harasu (fatty salmon belly) kasuzuke-yaki (grilled in sake lees marinade)" is said to be rich, tender, and delicious.
さとみレストランメモ
I visit regularly, and one of the nice things is that the menu changes with the season, and everything is good. They sometimes have unusual items too, and I end up ordering them lol. Plenty of people also come just to use it as an izakaya (Japanese pub), so it always feels lively day after day.

Nyoromon
A series on izakaya in Sugamo where you can enjoy local sake. The fish dishes come highly recommended, starting with the sashimi assortment that includes honmaguro (bluefin tuna). The simmered tuna tail is very hearty! It is relatively easy on the wallet, which is always appreciated.

Yamauchi Nojo Sugamo Kitaguchi Ekimae Ten is on the 3rd floor of the Miyako Building near the north exit of Sugamo Station, where you can casually enjoy jidori (local chicken) dishes and Kyushu gourmet food.
The spacious interior has a laid-back feel where you can relax. It works for a wide range of occasions, from drinking alone to Banquet gatherings.

They offer a wide range of izakaya dishes that go well with drinks, including chilled jidori (local chicken) dishes made with high quality jidori, “jidori sumibiyaki (charcoal grilled local chicken),” and Hakata’s famous “motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot)” with a choice of soup.
The jidori is said to be juicy and tender, and they recommend eating it with yuzu kosho (yuzu chili pepper paste).

The alcohol menu offers a wide selection, including carefully chosen draft beer, whiskey, cocktails, and shochu (Japanese distilled spirit). They also have course meals with All you can drink.
You can enjoy recommended dishes such as Hot Pot and jidori (local chicken) dishes all at once, so it is said to be highly satisfying.
ソム☆
The name miso (savory seasoned miso) is so good, and I look forward to it every time. With this on the table, both the cabbage and the drinks go down fast, so I feel like I could be fully Manzoku and head home with just this. I also enjoy the sweet soy sauce from Kyushu and mentaiko (spicy cod roe). They have a lot of chicken dishes, which also makes the menu feel pretty healthy, and it is one of my favorite restaurants.

さとみレストランメモ
The fish was light, and since it had been cured with kombu kelp, the Sea Bream was rich and pleasantly sticky. The bamboo shoots came with a sweet miso sauce made by lightly grilling the miso, giving it a nice sweetness, and the chicken skin with ponzu sauce was a reliably refreshing snack. The motsu Hot Pot had amazingly good dashi broth. It was such a great dish that you could drink alcohol with just the soup alone.
