Dashi to Yakitori Touji

About a 7-minute walk from Tennoji Station. This yakitori restaurant is on the second floor of Daimatsu Biru (Daimatsu Building).

This is a small spot with a hideaway feel. Step through the entrance, and good yakitori, drinks, and warm hospitality are waiting for you.

One of the best things about yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is how completely different each cut of chicken tastes. If you are not sure which skewer to choose, the recommended option is the "Omakase grilled skewers left to the grill master."

The head chef carefully grills each skewer one by one while watching the pace of the guests. It adds to the excitement of wondering what will come out next.

The "Chicken and Katsuo (bonito) Duet Ramen" is a popular menu item that is perfect To finish. The soup is a double broth made with chicken and katsuo.

The katsuo broth is rich in flavor and brings out the good taste of the chicken. It is said to be so good that you can finish it easily even when you're Manpuku.

I finally made it there the day before yesterday, and I was so impressed that I came back again today. Every dish is finished to a very high level, and both the cooking and seasoning are really spot on. The moment you take a bite, you can tell right away that it’s something special.

料理不料

We went with the chef’s Omakase for the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), and every skewer was cooked just right. The outside was nicely charred, while the inside was very juicy and tender, with a great contrast in texture. The liver in particular had no off notes at all, and its Creamy texture was a surprise. That said, the seasoning was a bit strong overall, so that may come down to personal taste.

Shinriki

"Shinriki" is a chicken specialty restaurant about a 5-minute walk from Tennoji Station, tucked away down a narrow alley off Abeno-suji (Abeno Avenue).

The interior, with its wood-grain decor, has a calm atmosphere. You can enjoy a wide range of chicken dishes, including yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), Kara-age, and chicken offal stew.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with fresh chicken gets high marks for its perfect cooking and just-right seasoning. It is said to be tender and nicely aromatic.

The sasami (chicken tenderloin) is moist, while the momo (thigh) has a plump, springy texture. The tebasaki (chicken wing) is said to have an irresistible harmony of crispy skin and juicy, thick meat.

The "Chicken Kara-age" is an irresistible dish with a crispy coating and juicy chicken.

It comes with salt and pepper, but the seasoning is already well worked in, so it is said to taste great even on its own. A squeeze of lemon gives it a lighter, fresher taste.

This was my third visit, and this yakitori restaurant is still the best. Each skewer is carefully grilled over charcoal, crisp and fragrant on the outside and tender and juicy inside, and I never get tired of them no matter how many I eat. The negima (chicken and scallion skewer) in particular has an amazing balance of flavor and sauce, and it impresses me every time.

This was my first visit, and every dish was high quality and delicious. The food really showed the appeal of charcoal grilling, and every main chicken dish had great aroma and texture. The meat stayed juicy, while still being cooked through to the center. The dishes other than the mains were also seasoned just right, and I think they made the most of the ingredients’ natural flavors.

Yakitori to Wine Cassiwa Tennoji Ten

Yakitori to Wine Cassiwa Tennoji Ten is a yakitori restaurant directly connected to Tennoji Station, on the 4th floor of the MIO Plaza Building. You can enjoy chicken dishes such as yakitori, Kara-age, and oyako-don (chicken and egg Rice bowl), along with drinks.

The interior is bright and easy to walk into. It is a convenient place to stop by while on the move or when dining with children.

The "CASSIWA no W Oyakodon Rice bowl" is a popular dish with chicken, umami-rich dashi broth, and softly set fluffy eggs. The egg yolk topping is popular too.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) are carefully grilled over charcoal, crisp and fragrant on the outside and juicy inside. The thigh meat in particular has a nice springy bite, and the more you chew, the more flavor spreads. The balance of tare sauce and salt is just right, making it a great match for drinks. The tsukune (chicken meatball skewer) has a light, fluffy texture packed with chicken flavor, and when eaten with egg yolk, it becomes even more mellow and was absolutely delicious.

Each skewer was grilled with great care, and the juicy momo (thigh) and reba (liver) stood out in particular. Both the salt and tare sauce were well balanced, and they paired with wine even better than expected. The Appetizers and seasonal dishes were also seasoned with care, and the selection of Japanese sake and craft beer made for a very satisfying meal.

Sumibi Yakitori Tsumugi

Sumibiyaki Tori Tsumugi is a yakitori restaurant located about a 1-minute walk after taking the subway from Tennoji Station and getting off at Abeno Station.

The deep, spacious interior has a bright and lively feel. Along with yakitori and drinks, they also offer a wide selection of otsumami (small plates) and a full lineup of dishes that let you enjoy chicken in all kinds of ways.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) uses fresh jidori (free-range chicken), and each skewer is prepared by hand in the restaurant. They grill them over charcoal until nicely browned.

To bring out the full flavor of the chicken, they use Homemade sauce and Guerande salt from France. You can enjoy the fragrant aroma of the charcoal and the springy texture of the jidori.

The "teba spicy age (spicy fried chicken wings)" is a popular item that coats chicken wings in a sweet and spicy soy sauce glaze, then finishes them with the aroma of pepper and sesame. Its mildly spicy, addictive flavor makes it a favorite.

Yagen Cartilage has a crunchy texture and is full of flavor, while the sweet and savory seasoning on liver, heart, and Horumon is so good that you will not want to stop drinking. あんずのしもべ

We had counter seats, so they served the skewers grilled right in front of us right away, and we got to enjoy them fresh off the grill while they were still piping hot. Thinking about it now, it might be rare to be huffing and puffing over yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), that’s how quickly they served them! Everything was delicious♪

Tennoji Yakitori porc

Tennoji Yakitori porc is a yakitori restaurant on the 3rd floor of Seiko Building, about a 2-minute walk from the east exit of Tennoji Station.

The spacious interior has a stylish and calm atmosphere. You can enjoy charcoal-grilled yakitori seasoned with sweet soy sauce from Miyazaki Prefecture, Japanese sake, and a la carte dishes.

They use Tajima-dori (Tajima chicken), which is low in fat and rich in flavor, for the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). It has a nice bite and a rich taste that many people like.

The yakitori grilled while being coated in sweet soy sauce is said to be fragrant, with the slight bitterness of caramel adding to its complex flavor.

To finish, the recommended dish is the "chilled tantanmen (cold dandan noodles)." Enjoy it as you break up the black sesame paste topping.

The mildly spicy sesame tare soup has a rich flavor. The more you break up the paste, the richer the soup becomes, and the heat comes on slowly afterward. This is a ramen you can enjoy for its changing flavors.

Everything was really delicious, but the shiitake (Japanese mushroom) in particular was large, juicy, and very satisfying to eat. Also, I was chatting with a friend instead of eating much of the otoshi (small appetizer), and a staff member kindly said, "Was it not to your taste? Would you like us to make something else?" I was really touched by that thoughtfulness. I’d love to visit again.

大阪グルメ一人旅@1年365日外食

What really surprised me was the yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) here, which was grilled not with tare sauce or anything like that, but with Kyushu sweet soy sauce. It sounds like something that should exist, but somehow doesn’t, and when you actually try it, it has an amazing taste without being as heavy as tare. It’s grilled over high heat binchotan (white charcoal), which gives it a nice smoky aroma, and this felt like a major find that I really want people to try.

Sumibiyaki to Nabe Ryori Tachibana Abeno Honten

About a 4-minute walk from Tennoji Station. This is an izakaya on Tomoesuji that serves great yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and chanko-nabe (sumo wrestler hot pot).

The spacious interior has about 150 seats and a bright, stylish feel. In addition to table seating, there are Private rooms and Sunken kotatsu seating, so it works for a wide range of occasions.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) is made with fresh chicken and grilled over high heat on charcoal, and people praise its juicy flavor and plump, tender finish.

The sumibi amiyaki (charcoal-grilled on a wire mesh), which grills chicken thigh and other cuts without putting them on skewers, is also said to be popular for its juicy texture and the fragrant aroma of charcoal.

Chanko Hot Pot was originally a hot pot dish made for sumo wrestlers. Packed with vegetables, meat, seafood, and more, it is popular for being full of nutrition and making it easy to eat plenty of vegetables.

You can choose from a total of four varieties, including the spicy Aka-kara Chanko Hot Pot and the Yokozuna Chanko Hot Pot loaded with heaps of meat and vegetables.

I have visited many times. The atmosphere is nice, and both the chanko-nabe (sumo-style Hot Pot) and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) are very good. It is also nice that the food comes quickly. I would like to visit again.

After the appetizer came charcoal grilled young chicken. It was fragrant and juicy. The nanban tartar was hearty and satisfying. The chanko Hot Pot was packed with ingredients, and I loved that it also came with plenty of vegetables. After we had eaten almost all of the Hot Pot, we finished with champon noodles. The broth had a rich taste, which was just right for us as we were drinking, and we finished it in no time.

Sumiyakiya Shinriki

"Sumiyakiya Shinriki" is a yakitori restaurant located inside "Abeno Q’s MALL," about a 3-minute walk from Tennoji Station.

The compact interior has a bright and comfortable feel. Along with yakitori grilled over charcoal, you can also enjoy a la carte dishes and drinks.

They use fresh jidori (free-range chicken) for the yakitori. Using Tosa binchotan (high-grade Japanese white charcoal), they grill it over high heat until crisp.

The outside is nicely browned, while the inside stays moist and juicy. The salt is perfectly balanced and brings out the chicken’s flavor. Adding shiso (perilla) or wasabi as condiments makes the taste even deeper.

"Tori-gara soup (chicken stock) de... Dashimaki" is a dashimaki omelet made with chicken stock instead of dashi.

They take their time cooking it to make it soft and fluffy. People like its smooth mouthfeel and tender texture.

It is a small restaurant, but the service was good, the food was delicious, and I was very Manzoku. If I had to say one thing, they grill each skewer over charcoal one by one, so it takes time for the food to come out. It is a good idea to order several items at once.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) cooked over charcoal is fragrant, and the yagen nankotsu (chicken breast cartilage), liver, kokoro (chicken heart), and Horumon are all very fresh, with no off notes, and really delicious. The grilling is also spot on, so you can really taste the natural flavor of each ingredient. The restaurant has a calm and comfortable atmosphere, and one of its charms is that you can relax and stay for a long time. Before you know it, you end up ordering skewer after skewer, and it is the kind of place that will definitely make you want to come back.
