You can enjoy tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet) made with recommended branded pork such as Hayashi SPF, known for its consistently good taste, as well as Iwanaka Pork and San'emon.
They offer both loin and Tenderloin cuts, and the set meal for comparing different cuts is also popular. The loin from Hayashi SPF is said to have sweet fat and rich flavor.
Photograph:KAZUKAZUKA
They also have a full lineup of A la carte menu items like croquettes and fried shrimp, and it seems many people order them in addition to their set meal.
The “cream croquette” is filled with rich, melty cream inside a crispy coating, and it is said to be just right as a nice palate cleanser between bites of tonkatsu (pork cutlet).

This time, I had the "Loin and Tenderloin Tabe-Kurabe (comparison) set meal"! It's a luxurious set where you can enjoy both cuts on one plate. First, the loin. The coating is crisp and light, and when you bite into it, the rich flavor of the meat and the sweetness of the fat spread through your mouth. The fat isn't heavy, and it melts nicely with an elegant finish! Next is the Tenderloin. This one has a fine, tender texture and tastes lighter than the loin.

ジャイアントマリオ
This was my second visit, and for this price, the level of Manzoku is amazing. It’s a wonderful restaurant unlike any I’ve experienced before. The tonkatsu (pork cutlet) is of course delicious, but the extra item in the set meal, like the cheese and ooha (perilla leaf) cutlet or the minced meat cutlet, is absolutely to die for.

New Babe, about a 6-minute walk from Tanimachi Yonchome Station in Osaka, is a specialty tonkatsu (breaded and deep-fried pork cutlet) restaurant where you can enjoy cuts from three different branded pork options that change daily.
Though compact, it has the casual appeal of a cafe, and it is said to be a popular spot that draws lines even before opening.

The tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) is cooked using both low and high temperatures, giving it a crisp outside and a moist, juicy texture inside.
It is served on stylish original tableware by an artist, and you can enjoy it with the owner's carefully selected nine kinds of seasonings. They are also particular about the rice, which is made with their own custom blend.

Various Special branded pork selections, such as "TokyoX" and "Saddleback," are available on a daily rotation.
The "Hayashi SPF" chosen that day seemed to be known for its fine, tender texture and the sweetness and lightness of its fat. The Tenderloin is a lean cut, but it still seems to have a juicy quality.

This specialty tonkatsu restaurant in the middle of Tanimachi Yonchome is known for its carefully selected brand pork and low-temperature cooking. The thick here-katsu (pork fillet cutlet) had a crisp outside and a moist, juicy texture inside, and each bite let the natural good taste of the pork come through. It paired perfectly with the cabbage and rice on the side, and the set meal was highly satisfying.

日本全国ご飯くん
The interior is bright and stylish. It has a cafe-like atmosphere, which makes it nice and easy to come in even by yourself. I ordered the popular "Spencer roll set meal." The best part is the moment it arrives on a sizzling hot Teppan-yaki plate, still crackling! The meat is nicely thick and tender, and with each bite, the juices and flavor spill out. The sweetness of the fat is refined too, and it tastes so good it almost melts in your mouth.

For the tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet), you can choose from several kinds of pork, including Chami-ton (a healthy pork with few off notes) and Sangen-ton (pork known for its tender texture).
One of the most popular options is the "TOKYO X loin cutlet," which is said to have a nice balance of high quality lean meat and fat.

糖質ちゃん
I visited for dinner this time and ordered the à la carte TOKYO X, Special Chateaubriand, and here-katsu (fillet cutlet). The meat had just the right amount of fat, and because it was lightly fried, I kept reaching for more. Along with porcini salt, I could choose my favorite from salts from different countries, which made it fun to enjoy the change in flavor.

Not only the tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet), but also the Appetizers like the salad and fried tomato were very tasty, and it was a deeply Manzoku meal. There were also so many kinds of salt to pair with the tonkatsu that I could hardly choose. The staff were also wonderful, and I was able to enjoy my meal in a very nice atmosphere.

The tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) is carefully fried in the restaurant's original oil, and the beautiful color of the cross section is said to catch the eye. Another nice point is the carefully selected seasonings, including salt, sauce, and soy sauce.
If you want to enjoy both Tenderloin and loin, the luxurious set meal "Triple Katsu Set Meal," which also comes with fried shrimp, is recommended.

Reviews also praise the “Spicy Katsu Curry,” which lets you enjoy katsu (cutlet) and curry at the same time. It comes with a salad.
The roux has a solid kick of spices, making it perfect for people looking for an authentic curry. The volume of the katsu is said to be excellent as well.

I ordered the loin set meal. The moment it hit my mouth, it had a melt-in-your-mouth texture, and since they take their time preparing it, it was excellent! I waited a little while before it was served, but that care showed in the finished dish. It was also fun to watch it being prepared right in front of me, and the service was warm in a restaurant with a nice atmosphere. It is a hidden gem with convenient access that I would like to visit again.

The interior feels clean and has a calm atmosphere, which makes it easy to relax without feeling self conscious. The Tenderloin cutlet set meal arrives freshly fried, and even the color of the coating looks appetizing. From the first bite, the meat is so moist and tender that it is hard to believe it is Tenderloin, and its rich flavor spreads with every chew.

Tonkatsu Shabushabu Shin is a restaurant where you can enjoy tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet) and pork belly shabushabu made with a wide variety of branded pork. It is in a great location, just a 1-minute walk from Osaka Metro Nihonbashi Station.
The restaurant has easy-to-use counter seats for solo diners, as well as spacious table seating for groups.
They are particular about using only vegetable oil to fry the tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet), and by switching between low and high temperatures, they achieve a tender texture.
For the hire (pork fillet), they use only Special Domestic meat, and for the loin, they use Hayashi SPF Pork from Chiba Prefecture. Both are said to have crispy coating and juicy, tasty meat.

One of the nice things about the tonkatsu set meal is that it comes with three sauces, so you can enjoy it in three different ways.
From the classic sauce made with ichijiku (fig) to the tangy curry sauce, each one is said to bring out the good flavor of the tonkatsu even more.

・Half tonkatsu (pork cutlet)
A plate that lets you enjoy both loin and Tenderloin together. The loin keeps in plenty of meat juices and has a texture where you can feel the grain of the meat. The balance of fat and lean meat is good. The Tenderloin is served cooked close to medium rare, and it turns out very tender overall ✨There are no off notes at all, and from the first bite you can clearly tell they use good pork.

I visited for dinner. The calm wa-modern (Japanese modern) space was comfortable whether at the counter or a table. The tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) had a light, crisp, fragrant coating, and the meat was juicy with a clear natural sweetness. I also enjoyed changing up the flavor with the house special sauce and salt, and the seasonal kobachi (small side dishes) and refills of cabbage were a nice touch.

Many people enjoy the specialty Hojubuta (Hoju pork) loin cutlet as a side for Japanese sake, and it is said to have a juicy texture with good moisture retention.
By cooking fresh, high quality pork at a low temperature, they bring out the pork’s natural good flavor. There is also a wide range of seasonings to pair with it, including lemon salt and matcha salt.
The "sakekasu oden (oden made with sake lees)" is a dish made with sake lees sourced by the owner, drawing on past experience working at a liquor store.
The oden is said to have deep richness, and you will want to enjoy it with one of the roughly 50 kinds of Japanese sake always available. The owner also holds a kikizakeshi (sake sommelier) certification.

One of the restaurant's signature dishes, the "TOKYO X Premium Loin katsu Rice bowl," is a limited-quantity Premium Loin katsu Rice bowl made with the rare TOKYO X.
It is popular for its fine-textured meat and rich flavor, with a sweetness in the fat that people find irresistible. It comes as a set with tonjiru (pork miso soup) and konomono (pickled vegetables).

I prefer Tenderloin over loin, so I ordered the premium Tenderloin tonkatsu (pork cutlet) set meal. You could tell from the cut cross section that the meat juices were about to spill out…! It was tasty with just a light sprinkle of salt from the table. Even with little fat, it was tender with a pleasantly springy bite! The miso soup was tonjiru (pork miso soup) with plenty of burdock root, and the flavor was rich and concentrated.

・Slightly Special Tenderloin cutlet set meal
First, I took a bite of the cutlet. The coating was crispy, and the meat was tender, juicy, and delicious. What stood out was the rice and cabbage. The Clay Pot-cooked rice was glossy and slightly sweet, and the miso-based dressing with green chili peppers had an addictive taste. Both the rice and cabbage come with free refills, so I ended up asking for more.

This restaurant has only Private rooms and a calm atmosphere, making it suitable for business dinners, drinking parties, and celebrations. The Tenderloin cutlet is so good that it is a dish you should definitely order. The thick, perfectly fried Tenderloin cutlet is tender and excellent. Have the first piece with salt and the second with egg yolk sauce. Both are so tasty that two pieces hardly feel like enough.

The Premium Loin cutlet that arrived had the beautiful doneness you only get from low-temperature cooking. The coating was fine and delicate, and it drained well, giving it a light look from the start. With one bite, the rich flavor of the pork and the sweetness of the fat slowly spread across the palate, creating a very refined taste. The fat did not feel heavy, which made it easy to enjoy all the way to the end without getting tired of it. It left a strong impression and made me feel this is exactly the kind of place that takes pride in Kyushu (region in Japan) specialty pork.

The katsu rice bowl and fried oysters also caught my eye, but since it was my first time, I ordered the Tenderloin cutlet set meal. The Tenderloin was thin and tender, coated in soft, airy breadcrumbs. This is more for people who like the texture of the batter soaked with oil than the meat itself. You eat it with tonkatsu sauce. The cabbage is also shaved ultra-thin and fluffy.

The coating is a bright golden brown and doesn’t come off, which is good! The balance of lean meat and fat is nice. Rare in Kansai, the ground sesame & miso sauce was tasty! The tonjiru (pork miso soup) was full of ingredients, and the dashi (soup stock) was good too, so I really enjoyed it.

Katsuno Takatsuki Ten, located near Takatsuki Station on the JR Kyoto Line in Takatsuki, Osaka Prefecture, is a tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet) specialty restaurant that uses Domestic branded pork. It offers a full lineup of tonkatsu set meal menu items.
The interior, designed by a well-known designer from Hiroshima Prefecture, has a comfortable atmosphere with a touch of luxury. The restaurant is equipped with counter and table seating.

The “Nichinan Mochibuta (brand pork from Nichinan)” used for the tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet) is a branded pork raised on a farm in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture, surrounded by rich nature.
It is known for its tender meat with no distinctive flavor, and the basics here are said to be the rosu-katsu (pork loin cutlet), full of the delicate taste of the fat, and the Tenderloin cutlet, with its fine texture.

There are many set meal style tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) menus that come with free refills of rice, cabbage, and miso soup.
A nice touch is that they come with a set of carefully selected Kyo-tsukemono (Kyoto pickles). The Aimori-zen (set meal with two kinds of fried items), which lets you enjoy multiple fried dishes at once, is also popular.

I ordered the jugoku tororo (10-grain rice with grated yam) and two kinds of katsu set meal. The ume shiso maki katsu (plum and shiso rolled cutlet) had a very nice balance between the tartness of the plum and the sweetness of the pork, and the Tenderloin katsu was as good as expected. For the dipping sauce, you grind sesame seeds in a suribachi (Japanese mortar) and mix them with the special sauce. The nice aroma of the ground sesame really worked up my appetite. Also, the sakura jugokumai (sakura 10-grain rice) was very good, and the tororo was tasty too.

Katsuno's tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) is so reliably good that you end up going back again and again. Of course the cutlets are great, but it's also nice that you can get refills of rice, miso soup, and cabbage, and one more appealing point is that the pickles are tasty too.
