About an 11-minute walk from Higashiyama Station. Riki-chan Gion Ten, standing along the charming stone-paved streets of Gion, is a Yakiniku restaurant by reservation only that specializes in here (tenderloin) Yakiniku.
The interior, based on black tones, feels clean and spacious. In addition to table seating, there are also Private rooms, so you can enjoy dinner without worrying about the next table.

There are six courses in total, including one that lets you compare here (fillet) and Chateaubriand.
The thick-cut "Chateaubriand 300g" is said to be so tender and juicy that you can pull it apart with a fork. The staff grills it for you, so it is nice that you can enjoy it at its best.
The here (tenderloin) and Chateaubriand sprinkled with gold flakes look luxurious too!
There are said to be 6 to 7 kinds of condiments, including Yakiniku sauce, grated garlic, grated ponzu sauce, and Himalayan salt, so you can enjoy comparing the flavors. It also comes with grilled vegetables, soup, rice, and fruit, making it very filling.
The three kinds of kimchi, especially the nagaimo kimchi (Japanese yam kimchi), were really good! The tongue was also thick cut and very tasty. The hire (tenderloin) and Chateaubriand, which I was looking forward to the most, truly melted in my mouth to the point where I barely needed teeth. The Chateaubriand was my personal number one✨I want to go again!

The Tenderloin was so tender it could be pulled apart with a fork, and it was excellent. It was great that the kimchi and namul (seasoned vegetable dishes) were refillable. The drinks went down so easily that I lost count of how many highballs I had.

About a 10-minute walk from Higashiyama Station, Yakiniku Gyusho Shin is a high-quality Yakiniku restaurant where you can enjoy female Omi gyu (Omi beef).
The interior, renovated from a machiya (traditional Kyoto townhouse) in Gion, offers a warm and comfortable space. It also has tasteful Japanese modern Private rooms, so you can relax and enjoy your time without worrying about the people around you.
Photograph:hy.hy589
They are particular about the seasonings, sauces, and even the rice, bringing out the full flavor that only Omi gyu (Omi beef) can offer.
The meat, carefully grilled by skilled chefs over charcoal in an irori (sunken hearth), is said to be a fine dish with a delicate yet rich taste. The moment it hits your mouth, the sweetness of its high quality fat spreads across your palate.
This is the shio-dare atsugiri tan (thick cut tongue with salt sauce) served in the "Shimizu Course".
The thick cut tongue is cooked with perfect heat, giving it a fragrant surface and a crisp texture. The fresh acidity of the lemon leaves your mouth feeling refreshed.
Overall, I thought it was very good. The quality of the meat was quite high, but what impressed me most was how good the staff's service was. They answered even small questions carefully, and I was very Manzoku.

I visited Yakiniku Gyusho Shin this was my second time. Lately, a lot of slightly upscale places use a “simultaneous start” format and serve only courses, but I like this place because it’s not like that and you can order a la carte. This time too, I had various dishes to go with wine, and every one was delicious... I thought I’d come again. It was a great meal.

They finish thick cuts with a light touch on the heat, bringing out both the sweet richness of the fat and the aroma of the lean meat. The course specialty, Super Negi Roast, stayed light to the last bite thanks to the fresh lift of fragrant green onions and lemon, with an excellent balance. The Outside skirt / Hanging tender also had a clean bite and rich flavor. Overall, everything is tuned with care to feel “not too rich, not too light.”

Instead of getting a course, we went with a style of ordering as much of whatever we liked, and the bill was very reasonable, so we were very satisfied. They said it was Spencer roll, so it looked like it might be too rich, but once I tried it, it didn’t feel heavy at all and I ate it in no time. The tongue is thick yet moist and tender, and the more you chew, the more juicy flavor spreads through your mouth. They recommend grilling it slowly and carefully, then dipping it in arai-dare (rinsing sauce) and wrapping it with lemon and green onion before eating.
The "Wagyu Brisket flat" grilled shabu-shabu is also a popular menu item with many repeat customers.

Gion Yakiniku Keisho, about a 9-minute walk from Higashiyama Station, serves high-quality Yakiniku with a focus on careful cuts and freshness.
The chic interior has a hideaway feel despite being in Gion. The tables are spaced generously, so you can relax and enjoy your time there.

The jo-tan shio (premium salted beef tongue) is a great dish that lets you enjoy its tender texture and flavor from the first bite.
The salt is said to be just right, bringing out the rich taste of the tongue. Careful, slow grilling adds a nice aroma, and it also pairs very well with alcohol.

They also have a full Horumon menu, including tetchan, Mountain chain tripe, Tracheal cartilage, and more.
Among them, the "hoso (small intestine)" is said to have a plump, springy texture, and when you bite into it, rich fat juices spill out from inside, letting you enjoy its deep flavor.

The Ume Course was very filling, and every dish was delicious. The restaurant was not noisy, so I could relax and take my time. I would like to visit again.

Since it was Korean Yakiniku, it had been a while since I last had Yakiniku. This restaurant had lots of menu items I like, including Outside skirt, Hanging tender, Aorta, tongue, and liver. I especially like Hanging tender because it has less fat and is a cut that people in their 40s can enjoy comfortably.

This restaurant is a 10-minute walk from Higashiyama Station, where you can enjoy rare Matsunaga Wagyu from Shimane Prefecture as Yakiniku.
The interior, renovated from a traditional Kyoto machiya (townhouse), has a stylish feel. In addition to counter seats, there are table Private rooms, so you can relax and fully enjoy dinner.

The course featuring Matsunaga Wagyu lets you grill and enjoy four kinds of meat over a shichirin (small charcoal grill), including salt grilled, sauce grilled, miso grilled, and sukiyaki style.
It is known for the sweet flavor of its melt in your mouth fat and the rich taste of the lean meat, and it is said to be so good that you end up finishing it in no time.

The "course with Matsunaga Wagyu Strip loin steak" is a rich set that lets you enjoy Matsunaga Wagyu grilled with a range of sauces, along with Strip loin steak as well.
The meat, cooked with perfect heat control, is said to be melt-in-your-mouth tender, and adding wasabi (Japanese horseradish) gives it a fresh sharpness that brings out the meat's flavor even more.

Yakiniku is grilled over charcoal on a shichirin (small charcoal grill)❗️A big plate lined with four delicate kinds of meat! [Matsunaga Wagyu Shioyaki (salt-grilled Wagyu)] It gets so tender it falls apart with just one flip. The fat on the outside is silky and smooth. The fat inside is light and clean, which is kind of amazing.

And if you come here, the Matsunaga Wagyu "katsu sando (cutlet sandwich)" is a must order! I like my meat on the rare side, so this look had me excited even before taking a bite♡The meat had a nice bounce but was tender, the size of the shokupan (Japanese milk bread) was perfect, and the crisp toast with the juicy meat was just amazingー☺️
