Gunma Prefecture [Takasaki City] Popular Yakiniku Restaurants

Wagyu Yakiniku and Premium Beef Tongue THE BLACK BULL CLUB Takasaki Ten is a Yakiniku restaurant in Takasaki City, the largest city in Gunma Prefecture. It is about a 5-minute walk from the West Exit of Takasaki Station in the city center. Its theme is “Make Yakiniku more free.”
The stylish interior is lined with box seats, making it easy to talk with the person you are dining with.
Photograph:yttyyt
The meat they serve is Domestic Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef). Rather than focusing on a specific production region, they source whatever is in the best condition at that time.
Some days, you can enjoy Joshu-gyu (Joshu beef) from Gunma Prefecture. A course that lets you compare 8 different cuts of Kuroge Wagyu is also popular.
Photograph:茶色王
Multiple reviews say the tongue is delicious. The specialty is "Negi Tsutsumi Tan," a reservation-only menu item featuring thinly sliced tongue wrapped around green onions.
Another distinctive feature is the lineup of black-colored drinks inspired by the restaurant's name. You can also enjoy black beer and black-colored wine.

We ordered the popular course (8500円), where you can enjoy Tenderloin, a “rare cut” of Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef), along with thinly sliced tongue! The meat here is just so good! You can fully enjoy the careful prep, seasoning, and the meat itself, all done to bring out its flavor. The tongue in particular was outstanding. The softness and texture of the base of the tongue were the best!

I visited this place in Takasaki to fuel up during a work trip. The interior is stylish and clean. The staff are young, but their service is polite and makes the place comfortable. The meat is finely textured, with great color and flavor, and very tender. When I want to eat Yakiniku in Takasaki, this will definitely be one of my options!

Sumibiyakiniku Horumon Shimada Takasaki Ten is the Takasaki restaurant of Horumon Shimada, which has multiple restaurants in Gunma Prefecture. It is located near the ruins of Takasaki Castle, on the second floor of a building with a brown exterior.
The space is casual with a Japanese style. Inside, Sunken kotatsu seating tables are lined up, so you can take off your shoes and stretch out your legs. Since it is a popular restaurant, making a reservation is recommended.
Photograph:まぷたやん
Once you sit down, the staff brings a small shichirin (charcoal brazier) filled with charcoal to your table. You place the meat on the grill and cook it yourself.
The menu focuses on fresh pork Horumon. The meat mainly uses pork raised in Gunma, paired with a house made sauce with a nice garlic kick.
Besides pork, you can also enjoy Yakiniku cuts of beef, including liver, salted tongue, and kalbi, with a wide variety of parts to choose from.
Photograph:カオえもん
The "Horumon assortment" is popular. Because it is fresh and carefully prepared, it is well liked for having no off notes and plenty of good flavor.
The drink menu is also well stocked, centered on shochu, including options like "Shitamachi highball," which is shochu mixed with carbonated water.

I had been to the Maebashi restaurant in the same group before, but this time the Takasaki restaurant felt more casual and down to earth. I personally really appreciated that they served the green onion sauce for the Beef Tongue on the side. I was surprised that the beef liver had no off notes.

Since it was my first time, I ordered the full assortment, and I really enjoyed trying the different cuts and textures. The salted cuts were seasoned well, and they went great with drinks! I was very happy with the assortment and left with Manzoku. It was also good value for money. If I come to Gunma (Gunma Prefecture) again, I’d definitely love to come back.

Sumibiyakiniku Horumon Kochiya is a Yakiniku restaurant about a 6-minute walk from the west exit of Takasaki Station, near the Renjakucho intersection. It is on the second floor of a building with a white exterior.
The interior has a simple design. The table seats can be used like Semi-private room seating, so you can enjoy Yakiniku without worrying about the people around you.
Photograph:粉パンダ
A shichirin (charcoal brazier) with charcoal is set on the table, so you can grill at your own pace and enjoy the meal.
The menu focuses on Horumon, and the seasoning is on the rich side, so it is best to grill it and eat it as is. They also have meat coated in a garlic sauce.
Photograph:suzu0313
The signature dish is "Hanasaki Toro Beef Tongue." It features thick-cut tongue scored so it opens like a flower. This rare item is available in limited quantities.
They also offer Korean dishes, and the course that lets you enjoy both spicy Hot Pot and Yakiniku is also popular. People say even the finishing cold noodles and hot noodles are delicious.
As you would expect from a restaurant known for its Beef Tongue, the Hanasaki Beef Tongue looked beautiful and was tender and delicious. The room was a Semi-private room, but it felt spacious, and even with small children with us, we had a great time. The makgeolli also had a rich taste, and we could have drunk countless glasses!!

The Outside skirt, loin, and kalbi were all delicious. The salted 3-kind Horumon assortment was also fantastic❗️What made me happy was that they also had local Gunma Japanese sake, Ryuuki and Musubi, and the drink selection was wide. I recommend the makgeolli. The flavor was a little on the rich side, and the lightly sparkling feel, a bit different from what you get at other places, was also nice, so both the food and drinks went down easy.

"Yakiniku Entei" is a Yakiniku restaurant in Kenzakimachi, in the northwestern part of Takasaki City. It is located along National Route 406 and has a large parking lot.
Every seat has a Sunken kotatsu seating-style table, making it easy to relax, and it seems to be a place where families with children can dine with peace of mind.

You can enjoy locally raised meats such as Joshu-gyu (Joshu beef), a Japanese Black Wagyu from Gunma Prefecture, along with Joshu pork and Joshu chicken. “Joshu” is the old name for present-day Gunma Prefecture.
You can also compare fresh local beef with Sendai-gyu (Sendai beef), a branded beef raised by registered farmers in Miyagi Prefecture.

Many people seem to come for the lunch menu, where you can enjoy Yakiniku at a good price. It comes with meat, rice, salad, soup, and a drink.
Even at lunch, you can use the grill right in front of you and cook it just the way you like. Not only the meat but the rice is said to be good too.

I had the Entei Lunch and the thick-cut Premium Beef Tongue. The Entei Lunch was a highly satisfying set that came with a four-meat assortment of Beef Tongue, kalbi, roast, and pork, plus rice, salad, soup, a small side dish, and even a drink. Each cut of meat had plenty of good flavor, and grilling them over charcoal brought out an even better aroma that made the rice go down easy.

Joshu & Sendai beef has beautiful marbling. It is sweet, tender, and delicious, but quite rich, so sharing it between two people and having 1〜2 slices each is just right. It is great that you can enjoy a small amount of high quality meat. The Joshu pork that came with it had a rich meaty flavor and was amazingly delicious! And the rice is so good! The soup is packed with gyudashi (beef broth) flavor and tastes incredibly good!

Sumibiyaki Horumon Fuu is a Yakiniku restaurant on a street lined with places to eat and drink, about a 10-minute walk from the West Exit of Takasaki Station. It stays open until late at night on Fridays and Saturdays.
All seating is tatami-style with Sunken kotatsu seating, and they can connect tables to fit your group size. It seems like a good spot to enjoy Yakiniku with close friends.
Photograph:wt31
A key feature here is that they grill not over a gas flame, but on a shichirin (charcoal brazier) filled with charcoal. The charcoal aroma adds great flavor and cooks the meat nice and juicy.
The menu ranges widely, from fresh Horumon to A5 rank Wagyu.
Photograph:アツシ0046
Popular courses include great value options with Gunma-produced Wagyu "Joshu-gyu (Joshu beef)" short rib and loin, plus pork, Horumon, and All you can drink.
The drink menu is also extensive. Another feature is that you can add All you can drink to any food menu item you like.

I come here every year. Our fairly young group ate and drank quite a lot, but it came to about JPY 5000 per person, so I do not think it was that expensive. The meat was good, and the food came quickly, so I would visit again if I have the chance.

It was my first time visiting, and I found a really great place. The seasoning on the block of Outside skirt was spot on, and I ended up ordering another serving. The gutsu-pon (ponzu dressed pork stomach), negi-tan (beef tongue with green onion), and namul (seasoned vegetable side dish) were also delicious. The premium highball is recommended too. The one with Ichiro's Malt is a great value, I think.

"Horumon All Stars" is an izakaya on the east side of Takasaki Station, near the Orui-cho bus stop. It is a place where you can casually drink and eat, with Yakiniku at the center.
The woody interior seems to have table seating and Sunken kotatsu seating in tatami rooms. It is easy to use whether you are in a small group or a larger party, and the lively atmosphere is just right when you want to enjoy drinks in a fun setting.
Photograph:suzu0313
The Yakiniku menu is extensive, with a wide range of meats including Domestic Wagyu, pork, and chicken. In addition to salt and sauce seasoning, they also offer meat dressed with basil.
They also have large cuts such as the "Domestic Spencer roll steak." It is also recommended to grill it yourselves and share it.
Photograph:毛糸グルメ
The table comes with plenty of "nira-dare (garlic chive sauce)" and a refreshing "ume-dare (plum sauce)," and you can also switch up the flavors with wasabi or grated garlic.
They also offer day-specific and limited-time specials, making this the kind of place you will want to come back to again and again.

The Beef Tongue was delicious. Even though this is Gunma, they had a great variety of beef, which was nice! The pork Horumon seemed to be popular, and almost everyone around us ordered it. I thought it was more than enough for a quick meal. We enjoyed tasty Yakiniku at a price that was easy on the wallet.

Yakiniku Toraji, a Yakiniku restaurant with restaurants mainly in Tokyo and in other areas as well, opened its first location in Gunma Prefecture. It is on the 8th floor of Takasaki OPA, a fashion building next to the west exit of Takasaki Station.
The space has a chic Japanese modern feel. Ventilation equipment and exhaust ducts are installed, so you can enjoy Yakiniku without worrying about the smoke.
Photograph:ポー太郎ちゃ
The restaurant also has sofa seating, and at dinnertime they dim the lights to create a nice mood. You can also enjoy the night view from the window seats.
A key feature here is the many thick cut meats, based on the idea that thicker cuts let you taste the meat’s flavor more directly.
Photograph:ゆめゆめっち
The specialty here is the thick cut tongue, paired with a shredded green onion seasoning called Negi Baka. The two kinds, White made with salt and lemon and spicy Red, bring out the flavor of the meat.
The lunch menu item called the Yakiniku Gozen set, which comes with beef, pork, kimchi, and more, is also popular.
Sato sanja
The Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) assortment set and the Negi Baka Tare (green onion-packed sauce) were especially outstanding! You could really taste the meat's rich flavor, and the Negi Baka Tare made it even better. Every grilled vegetable had a nice sweetness and tasted great, making it a very satisfying meal. The restaurant also has sofa seating, and the view from the windows adds to the nice atmosphere.

I was able to enjoy a good meal at a relaxed pace in the calm atmosphere. The spacing between tables was nice too, so I didn’t have to worry about the people around me. The meat was high quality and cut in fairly large pieces, the vegetables were tasty, and even the finishing dishes seemed carefully done, with quality that matched the price. There was also a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, and the freshly squeezed sour was very good.

We ordered beef kalbi, loin, pork tongue, pork Horumon, and a vegetable assortment. There were all kinds of drinks too. Of course, they were happy to let us take photos lol. The salted pork tongue was a bit icy lol. Once you grill it, no problem lol. We grilled the Horumon too, even though it takes a while. For rice, we had plain rice and Yakiniku on the rice lol. It says the raw egg is served as a soft-boiled egg. Both were great lol.

It was an All you can eat meal with a very full menu. There were plenty of staff, and they also had serving robots, so when you ordered, the food arrived right away. There was a TV set at the table, so you could watch it while eating. A lot of the food was good, but it was a shame that only the pudding was not good. The gelato was all delicious, and there were about 20 kinds!

Just like the name suggests, you grill everything over a sumibi no shichirin (charcoal brazier). Since it is a shichirin, the heat is more than strong enough. The ventilation system sucks up the smoke really well, so there is almost no smoke. You can keep grilling away lol. There was only one kind of sauce, and there was no gochujang on the table, but when I asked, they brought some out. Grill the tongue quickly, and cook the Outside skirt well. As for the kalbi and roast, just do them however you like lol.

The large and thick “Dragon Outside skirt” is also popular. It is scored in a crosshatch pattern, and you can enjoy it seasoned with butter, black pepper, and lemon.
They also have a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, with a focus on wine and sours. They also offer courses that come with All you can drink.

What stood out most was the Dragon Outside skirt. They grill it with butter on top and eat it with pepper. Cooked rare, it was tender and delicious. The Tsutsumi Negi Tongue Shio wrapped green onion in beef tongue and tied it with green onion, giving it a cute look like little inari sushi and showing a lot of care in the preparation. The samgyeopsal tasted even better when I wrapped the pork belly in sunny lettuce. The cold noodles to finish were also delicious.

I visited for the first time after being invited to a farewell party. Rather than having a calm atmosphere, this is the kind of place where you can have a lively time with friends. I visited a Yakiniku restaurant I had wanted to try for a long time for a special occasion. Since it was my first visit, I ordered a course meal. Every cut of meat was as good as I had hoped, but the lean steak and meat sushi were especially great. It is a Yakiniku restaurant I would want to visit on a Special day, and next time I would like to try the à la carte menu.

Kurogane is located just off a side street from Honmachi-dori in the center of Isesaki. This restaurant combines both a Yakiniku restaurant and a Teppan-yaki restaurant.
When you want to enjoy Yakiniku, you can use the Private room table seating or zashiki (tatami seating), while Teppan-yaki is served exclusively at the counter seats, where you can also enjoy the live cooking atmosphere. Its ability to offer different ways to enjoy the same restaurant is part of its appeal.

They use Joshu-gyu (Joshu beef) and mugi-buta (barley-fed pork) from Gunma Prefecture, and they also offer jidori (local chicken) from Gunma. They carefully select only Special high-quality meat for everything.
Along with yakiniku cuts like kalbi, tongue, and Horumon, you can also grill steak yourself and enjoy it.

You can enjoy Yakiniku in a Private room, and also eat steak grilled by the staff. It has a reputation for being tender and delicious.
At lunchtime, the Outside skirt steak and Hamburger Steak served on a sizzling hot Teppan-yaki plate are also popular as a good value option.

As you get older, places like this really hit the spot. I recommend the assortment and the tongue assortment. Marbled cuts like kalbi (Korean-style short rib) are tender and nicely tasty. What impressed me most was the wide variety of tongue cuts, and since they are thick cut, they have a great texture and a very good meaty flavor.

The overall quality of the meat is high. It was tasty with either tare (sauce) or salt. The service was also good, making this a very nice restaurant. The quality of the à la carte dishes, finishing dishes, and desserts was also high, and I was very Manzoku. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for making it such an enjoyable dinner. Thank you very much.

At lunchtime, the popular choice is Yakiniku set meals that are more affordable than dinner. The "Manpuku Set" lets you enjoy two kinds of meat: kalbi (Korean-style short rib) and Outside skirt.
You can also enjoy reasonably priced set meals such as the "Kankoku motsu-nabe (Korean offal Hot Pot) Set," made with carefully selected meat, and a 100% Wagyu Hamburger Steak set.

The menu is extensive and everything is good. The shio mino (salted Mountain chain tripe) is especially tasty, and the kalbi (Korean-style short ribs) has rich, high quality fat that goes great with bowl after bowl of rice. The loin is also nice and light. The Horumon assortment was perfect for a Horumon lover like me, with a small amount of several different kinds.

Rice and Yakiniku. There is no better combo than this. Today I had lunch at Ginjirou for the first time in a while. The Manpuku 150g set. The aged Outside skirt was something else. It comes with rice, salad, and soup for just over JPY1000. As always, great value ✨It was a great meal♪

The "Special Premium Tongue" has a nice texture, with a unique flavor and just the right amount of fat, making it very satisfying. The restaurant uses Special A5-rank Wagyu from female cattle to begin with, so the quality is beyond question. You can tell just by looking at the fine grain of the meat and the marbling.

Gunma Prefecture [Ota City] Popular Yakiniku Restaurants
Ota City, in the southeastern part of Gunma Prefecture, has the third largest population in the prefecture. Ota Horumon is a Yakiniku restaurant in a residential area of Ryumai-cho, Ota City.
This standalone restaurant has a parking lot and is open only for dinner. It seems to have a calm atmosphere with slightly dim lighting.
Photograph:たかまじろ 1220
The menu centers on Yakiniku made with fresh Horumon. Many items let you choose either miso or salt seasoning, and the salt option makes it easy to notice the differences in flavor from one cut to another.
They also serve karubi (short rib) and roast from Joshu-gyu (Joshu beef) from Gunma Prefecture, and for these you can choose either salt or tare sauce.
Photograph:みやっち1964
In addition to Yakiniku, they also offer motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot), made by simmering fresh Horumon with vegetables in soup, as well as Korean dishes.
The alcohol menu is also extensive. This is a great place to enjoy drinks while snacking on Horumon, chijimi (Korean pancake), and more.
The thick-cut Beef Tongue is a dish I order every time I visit! It depends on how you grill it yourself, but it is really good, so I definitely recommend trying it. Everything else on the menu is tasty too, so you can enjoy a great meal here even without drinking alcohol!

I parked the car and went inside. The interior felt more compact than the exterior suggested. There are counter seats, tables, and raised tatami seating, so it seems set up to accommodate all kinds of guests. When I walked in, the place was about half full. I sat down at a table and looked at the menu... My first impression was, isn’t this surprisingly cheap for this day and age?

Popular Yakiniku restaurants in Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture
"Yakiniku・Shabu-shabu Donsan-tei" is a popular restaurant that serves high quality meat at reasonable prices. It has a good reputation for letting guests fully enjoy authentic charcoal grilled Yakiniku cooked on a shichirin (small charcoal grill).
The restaurant has a kominka (traditional Japanese house)-style interior, with spacious table seating and zashiki (tatami room) seating available.
Photograph:ねこではち
When you step inside, there is a large irori (sunken hearth), where you can see plenty of charcoal prepared for grilling the meat.
A shichirin (small charcoal grill) is placed on each table, and the charcoal fire lets you grill the meat in a way that locks in its flavor before enjoying it.
Photograph:tabam628
You can enjoy meat marinated in an original soy sauce tare made to bring out the sweetness of fruits like apples. Popular choices include spicy meat and kalbi made with garlic.
There are also reviews saying the Clay Pot-cooked rice is very good, and that it goes well with Yakiniku.
ゴルビー1
The staff quickly brought over the charcoal, and the atmosphere was at MAX. The sauce, soup, and rice were served too. The kalbi was more filling than I expected. The salad was a nice touch as well. Well then, shall we start grilling??? I grilled 2~4 slices, and the kalbi was tender and sweet. It was especially good wrapped around rice. It really gave that “I’m eating Yakiniku” feeling.

The thick cut salted tongue was delicious. The fruit-marinated Outside skirt was tender and easy to eat. I thought it was great that they had such a good selection of meats. It was very crowded, but everything we ordered arrived all at once. Next time, I would like to order the Clay Pot rice.

Popular Yakiniku restaurants in Minakami-machi, Tone-gun, Gunma Prefecture

Yakiniku Keira is a Yakiniku restaurant in the center of the Minakami Onsen area in Minakami, a town at the northern edge of Gunma Prefecture where you can enjoy hot springs and nature.
You can enjoy Yakiniku made with plenty of ingredients from Gunma Prefecture. There is also a day trip hot spring facility nearby, making it a great place to enjoy Yakiniku and alcohol after a bath.

Joshu Wagyu, Joshu Mugibuta (Joshu barley-fed pork), and Joshu Jidori (Joshu local chicken) from Gunma Prefecture all have a reputation for being delicious. Some reviews say they were surprised by how tender the pork was.
Each table has a roaster that produces very little smoke and drains off excess fat from the meat, so you may find yourself eating plenty of it.
What you will also want to enjoy with the Yakiniku is the "homemade Beef Tongue stew," made with Special selected Beef Tongue. The large cuts of Beef Tongue are simmered until tender, and you can enjoy the soup, packed with rich flavor, together with rice.
The "strong carbonated highball," made by mixing whisky with extra fizzy soda water chilled to just before freezing, is also said to be popular.
らい34131
I came here mainly for beef, but since the menu also had pork and chicken, I ordered an assortment. To be honest, I had always looked down on the pork served at Yakiniku places because I thought it would be tough. It was completely different. The pork here was amazingly good. It was Surprising how tender it was, and it made me think, pork at a Yakiniku place can be this delicious?! The beef was of course also really good!

The tongue, loin, and Outside skirt are delicious! The mugibuta (barley fed pork) also had nice fat and tasted great. The shiitake mushroom had an amazing aroma, was really thick, and was delicious! The house-made miso stew is insanely good! The softly simmered beef is superb and goes perfectly with the miso! It gives you the urge to put it on rice and shovel it in! To finish, Beef Tongue stew rice. It comes with 3 large slices of tongue so tender you can cut them with a spoon. There is no way that good sauce and rice would not go well together!
