Hakata Itowokashi Kawagoe Ekimae Ten

Hakata Itowokashi Kawagoe Ekimae Ten is an izakaya serving specialty dishes from Hakata, Fukuoka Prefecture. It is located on the 4th floor of a building just a 1-minute walk from Kawagoe Station.

The spacious and stylish interior offers table seating and Private rooms. It is said to be lively all the time, so making a reservation is recommended.

You can order either a course with All you can drink that includes a wide variety of dishes, or A la carte. They also offer All you can drink on its own.

The photo shows their signature motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot), "Kodawari Shoyu Flavor," with rich soy sauce and flavorful dashi. The large, plump motsu soaks up the soup and tastes great, and it goes really well with beer.

Another signature item is the “Hakata yasai maki kushi (Hakata vegetable-wrapped skewers),” with each skewer carefully grilled one by one by skilled chefs. They say you can enjoy the crisp texture of the vegetables and the rich flavor of the meat.

There is a wide variety, and they are all known for being healthy and tasty. If you are not sure what to order, the “Omakase five-skewer assortment” in the photo is a good choice.

If you love meat, the one thing you can’t miss is the Outside skirt steak! The juicy meat and stylish plating really lift your mood. The bite-size gyoza (dumplings) are cute in size, and the crisp sear is perfect. The satsuma-age (deep-fried fish cake) is light and gently sweet, making your drinks go down easy.

粘着王子

They ordered kushiyaki (grilled skewers), motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot), and aburi yukhoe (lightly seared yukhoe), among other dishes. Every dish was high level, so it is easy to see why this place is so popular. The drink lineup is extremely extensive, and even the highballs alone include Black Nikka, Nikka Frontier, Kaku, Ichiro's Malt, and Chita, making for a very impressive selection! Since it was a special chance, they went for one of the higher priced highballs♪

Kakurega Private room Yoshimura Kawagoe Ekimae Ten

Kakurega Koshitsu Yoshimura Kawagoe Ekimae Ten is an izakaya with excellent access, just a 1-minute walk from Kawagoe Station. You can enjoy izakaya dishes centered on washoku (Japanese cuisine) along with a wide selection of drinks.

The interior has fully private rooms for every seat and offers a calm Japanese-style space. It is recommended for people who want to relax and enjoy a drink.

The "Rare Aji Fry" in the photo is the restaurant's signature dish, made by quickly frying super fresh aji (horse mackerel) sashimi. The coating is light, and the fish is tender and moist, with more flavor coming through the more you chew.

Because they fry the whole fish from head to bones, you can eat it crispy like a snack. It's perfect with a drink.

They offer courses with All you can drink and A la carte options. There is also an All you can drink plan by itself, which is great for people who enjoy alcohol.

The photo shows the "Yoshimura Tokusei Noko Motsu-nabe (Yoshimura Special Rich Offal Hot Pot)," made with a rich soup packed with umami. It is said to be tasty, with the fat from the motsu and the sweetness of the cabbage coming together nicely, and it pairs well with drinks.

What surprised me most was that the best thing here was the gyoza (dumplings). Since it’s a Japanese style restaurant, I wasn’t expecting that much, but the skin was crisp and the filling was juicy, and you could tell they put real care into it. The garlic wasn’t too strong either, which made it easy to order even when I was with friends. It also went great with beer, and it’s the kind of dish that lifts the mood at the table if you order a plate to start.

食べ呑み歩き大好き夫婦

・Casual JPY5000 course
It was a very full lineup with salad, otsukuri (sashimi), tempura, chicken, shumai, ara-jiru (fish head soup), sushi, and dessert, and everything tasted great! The beer in the All you can drink plan was Kuro Label. The Japanese sake was Kokuryu. Good value, good food. The staff were also nice, and it was a Manzoku restaurant.

The food was delicious, the service from the staff was good, and I felt very relaxed. Of course, the selection of drinks, including Japanese sake, is more than satisfactory. What I personally appreciated was that they properly warmed the atsukan (hot sake) in a sake warmer. Surprisingly, that issue of whether a place uses a proper sake warmer for atsukan is not as common as you might think.

We were very Manzoku with everything, from the taste and volume of the food to the variety of All you can drink options and the reasonable prices. It was a get-together with friends, and everyone really liked it. Since we started late, they were very thoughtful and even kept an eye on the last train for us. I’d definitely like to go again!

ふく95

While enjoying tori-suki-nabe (chicken sukiyaki Hot Pot) and Kara-age, I had a few highballs. The food was very good. It is a Private room izakaya, but the private rooms seemed to be full, so I was shown to a seat in the back with Sunken kotatsu seating tables lined up. There were not many other customers, so it was comfortable. I will go again.

The drinks and snacks are plentiful, and you order by calling over the staff. The sunagimo (chicken gizzards) I ordered were large and juicy, which was a nice surprise. Besides the yakitori, the yodaredori (Sichuan-style steamed chicken) and tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet) are also very good. The cut cheese came with honey on the side, which gave it a slightly stylish touch that I liked. It seems you can request the strength of your drink, so it should feel safe even for people who do not handle alcohol well.

This is a wonderful place where you can enjoy Higashimatsuyama-shiki yakitori (Higashimatsuyama-style grilled skewers). Both the exterior and the interior are stylish and have an upscale feel, but the prices are reasonable. Above all, the combination of yakitori and beer is the best. It’s great that you can enjoy both the pork skewers and chicken dishes. I wish I had a place like this near my nearest station.

They had a very wide selection of shochu (Japanese distilled spirit), and every one I tried was great. The staff were also kind, and their polite service left a strong impression. The food used fresh seafood, and the sashimi in particular was excellent. The prices were also reasonable, and for this level of quality at this price, I am very Manzoku.

The drink menu is extensive, with not only Japanese sake and shochu, but also a good selection of premium whisky. This time, we enjoyed Hakushu, Yamazaki, and Hibiki as luxurious highballs, and they paired perfectly with the food. Overall, this restaurant stood out for its great value and freshness. It is hard to find a place in this price range where you can enjoy this much seafood and alcohol. The comfortable atmosphere is a big plus too.

The goma-kanpachi (amberjack with sesame sauce), prepared in a style similar to goma-saba (mackerel with sesame sauce), was really delicious. The tempura was nice and crisp, and the curry powder served on the side paired with it very well. It definitely made the drinks go down easy. Each person was also served shoga-yaki (ginger pork), which was hearty and seasoned perfectly. That made the drinks go down even easier.

・Kara-age chicken wings, yakitori (grilled chicken skewers)
They really live up to the claim of being a house specialty. Delicious. The yakitori is all pretty good. The bonjiri (tail meat), in particular, has a crisp, oily outside and a plump, juicy inside, which is nice.
