せいらんこ

A Yakiniku restaurant with Private rooms that works well for dining with kids, and you won’t leave smelling like smoke. You can grill the meat yourself, but the staff stay with you and cook it for you, so it’s easy ^_^ The lean cuts were tender, and everything was delicious! My favorites were the Top blade and hele (tenderloin).

Everything was wonderfully delicious. The tongue, meat sushi, and yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef) were especially better than at any other place I’ve had them. The roast was not greasy either, and it was easy to eat. We had not requested it in particular, but having a Private room was also very nice. The staff were quick and attentive, and they asked to change the grill at just the right time.

I usually eat more or less the same things every time, and this time I ordered the Chateaubriand again. It had that real meat kind of feel and was as great as ever. I had it with wasabi and salt. I usually eat it with salt, but this time I wanted white rice, so I ordered the Premium Loin, Top blade, and Outside skirt with tare sauce. The meat was delicious and went well with rice, and I was very satisfied.

I happened to stop by and went in. The All you can drink option was unexpectedly cheap, which was Surprising. I tried various items like kalbi (Korean-style short ribs) and tongue, but the Premium Loin was the best, and I ended up ordering seconds again and again. To finish, I had tail soup and drank Japanese sake too, which made for the best night in Kyoto.

I enjoyed rare cuts of Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) with my meat-loving group while viewing the cherry blossoms. The kurimi (shoulder clod), Top blade, and Strip loin were served as steaks, and the Upper oysteer biade was grilled with salt. The Nakaochi short rib and Horumon assortment were grilled with sauce. The wine is also reasonably priced. I also recommend the Clay Pot rice.

The five-cut platter came with Strip loin, sasabara (a cut of beef), Flap meat, Chuck tender, and kalbi (Korean-style short rib). The Strip loin, Flap meat, and kalbi were all nicely marbled and melted in the mouth, while the sasabara and Chuck tender had a great balance of lean meat and fat and were wonderfully tender...! The yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef) was also really soft and rich with umami. The tongue was insanely good too!!

One reason for its popularity is that you can enjoy exceptionally fresh Horumon. They source Special Horumon from around Japan by cut.

The signature "Omi hoso (small intestine)" is said to be excellent, with a plump, bouncy texture and lots of flavor. You can eat it with salt, sweet black sauce, or spicy red sauce, depending on your preference.

The premium Outside skirt is also recommended, and it’s Wagyu Outside skirt! Wagyu Horumon is truly rare, so you should definitely order it! I think a place with fresh, tasty Horumon is a truly good restaurant☺️

Also, the hoso (part of the intestine) was so good that even I, who couldn’t eat Horumon for 35 years because I didn’t like it, found it delicious for the first time. The fat is sweet, with no off notes, and it tastes amazing with salted kombu kelp or the house special sauce. It’s a dish I’d strongly recommend even to people who don’t usually like Horumon. Manyo-gyu (Manyo beef) has its umami packed in, giving it a rich taste that feels more satisfying with every bite.

Yakiniku Bunya

Yakiniku Bunya buys whole Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) cattle from Kyushu, and is a Yakiniku restaurant where you can casually enjoy high quality thick cut meat.

The interior is a homey space with a Japanese feel, with table seating and zashiki (tatami seating). It is about a 3-minute walk from Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station.

One thing that sets this place apart is that they cut the meat only after an order comes in, so none of the meat’s flavor is lost. Every cut is said to be high quality, with rich umami and a clear natural sweetness.

The photo shows the "Atsugiri Tan Nishu assortment," which lets you compare jo-tan (premium beef tongue) and tan (beef tongue). Despite the thick cut, it is said to be very tender and delicious.

They serve fresh Horumon delivered directly from suppliers every day. It has no off notes, and you can enjoy its plump, springy texture.

The photo shows the “Horumon assortment,” which lets you try a variety of cuts little by little. The massage sauce is also tasty, and it goes great with rice or drinks.

うろちいうそ

The inside of the restaurant was larger and deeper than I had imagined, and the meat was good overall. My daughter wanted to eat Horumon and yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef), and she was happy that she got to have both. It was also nice that they accepted various kinds of e-money.

It was really delicious. It was my first time trying Beef Tongue sashimi and Outside skirt sashimi✨They were not just unusual, but genuinely delicious! The momo (round) seemed a little firm at first, but the more I chewed, the more flavor came out. This time, I had it with salt and wasabi instead of tare sauce. The carefully selected three-kind assortment had melt-in-your-mouth meat. It is a dish I would like to order again next time.

A very filling Yakiniku course!! I visited when I went to Kyoto. Even the course without rice had so much volume that I was full just from the meat! I especially liked the beef tongue sashimi, Tenderloin, and misuji (top blade), which had beautiful marbling, plenty of fat, and tasted great. I would love to visit again when I am in Kyoto.

Tenka no Yakiniku Daishogun Shijo Omiya Ten

Tenka no Yakiniku Daishogun Shijo Omiya Ten, located on Kuromon-dori just a short walk from Omiya Station, is a long-established Yakiniku restaurant that has been loved for many years. It is well reviewed for letting you enjoy high quality Domestic Wagyu.

The interior has a calm Japanese modern atmosphere, and in addition to table seating, it also has a variety of Private room options.

You can order from either the course menu or à la carte. One of the restaurant's key features is that it does not fix itself to one production region, and instead uses the most beautiful Wagyu from around Japan at the best time of year. Reviews say every cut is tender and very good.

They also recommend eating it with the secret sauce that has remained unchanged since the restaurant first opened.

On weekdays, you can enjoy lunch sets that come with kimchi, rice, and soup. There is a wide variety to choose from depending on the cut and your budget.

The photo shows the “Yakiniku Lunch (Outside skirt).” The meat is thick cut yet tender, and the sauce is tasty, making it go perfectly with rice.

I enjoyed another great meal this time as well. I usually order more or less the same menu, but... this time the lean cuts were especially good! Lean meat can get tough if overcooked, but... it was very tender and delicious.

Every single dish was very good, but when I ate the premium kalbi Yakiniku with tan negi (green onions for tongue), I was shocked by how good it was! I found that out near the beginning, so I had tan negi with all of the Yakiniku! It was so good that my friend and I got another serving of rice, added Outside skirt, and enjoyed it to the very end! It was a Manzoku experience, so I’d love to come again(^ ^)
